 Valentine was out in the woods for the day, having left home for good. He was a real man now, and hell, he was going to come back home only when he had a lady friend, like his brother did! So many women he had met, flirted with, and lost in his attempts to snag them. How did brother Damian do it? He had a smoking hot babe and what did Valentine have? A few red cheeks and a slightly crushed self-esteem. Damian had told him, several times, that the way he got Niho was by being sincere and actually loving her. Well, wasn't flirting just like that? Yeah?
"Hrm." He was going to win, one day, and bring home someone so hot that it rivaled Niho! His own way. Forget all that mushy stuff, that never worked. No girl wanted a good guy. None. That was all bullshit, even if Damian pretended he was the sweetest man ever and won his mate through love and flowers. Valentine called shenanigans!

 Neve quickly made her way through the forest. Ok so maybe checking that cave before she went in side it would have been a good idea. Then again, she never really thought about things like that. All she wanted was to get out of the rain. So when she saw the cave, she thought she had been lucky. She was even able to get a few hours sleep. That is until the bear came home to find her sleeping in its den. She had tried to apologize but it didn't seem to keen on talking, oh no. It chased her out of its den and she ran. She ran like no tomorrow. In fact, she was still running. There was no way she was going to stop. Neve didn't even want to chance a look back. She was too scared that if she did, she would see the bear still chasing her. Rather then stop she quickly scampered up the tree that was closest to her and just hung there for dear life. She closed her eyes and stayed still hoping that the bear would leave her alone or go away.

HOLY DAEVA! Valentine almost had a heart-attack as a blur darted by and skittered into a tree. He had not expected that! It took a good second of him panting for breath for him to even consider checking out the scene, ears flicking back as he glanced upwards at the tree the blur had vanished into. It took a few seconds to spot a female, terrified, trying to hide within her tree.
Blink.
Blink blink.
Well.
"Hey~" Oh yeah, Val was already trying. However, the pretty little vixen looked absolutely terrified, sparking that desire to protect the white and black cat. Padding closer to the tree, his head tilted as he viewed the girl.
"What's a pretty kitty like you doing up there?"

She stayed silent and continued to hang there on the tree she had ran up. She wasn't sure how long she had hung there. All she knew was that she had to stay put. Bears weren't smart. Or... she figured they weren't. She had run into quite a few of them on her adventures. Mostly they would stop giving chase if she vanished from their sight. So the fact that she ran up a tree, would mean that she broke the line of the sight. She hoped. Even as she hung there, she begged her heart to stop pounding in her chest. She was afraid that if the bear passed under her, it would hear the pounding of her heart and discover her. Suddenly she heard a voice speaking to her. It wasn't a bear, that was for sue. She opened one and risked a glance down. It was a male. What was he doing down there! "Shhhhhhhh! Be quiet! He'll hear you! Quick! Get up someplace safe before he sees you!" She whispered loudly. She didn't want to yell. It could attract the bear.

What? He quirked an eyebrow at the woman, head tilting. The hell was the pretty kitty talking about? He? Maybe some male harassing her? He scowled slightly, puffing his chest out and trying to put on a tough air. Well! He'd protect the other for sure!
"He? Well, don't fear, pretty kitty, I'm here to protect you." He settled himself at the base of the tree and raised his ears, trying to become bigger than he actually was. He wasn't a small guy, but he wasn't huge and muscular either. Still, he was convinced the girl needed saving and dammit he'd do it.

Neve couldn't believe it. Was this male really going to stay down there and fight off something that was... well, about five times or more bigger then him? That would not be a good idea. He would get torn to pieces! She panicked. The last thing she wanted was for someone else to get hurt because of her. It always seemed like that was happening all too often. She had to say something to get him to stop or hide, before he got hurt. "No. You don't have to do that. Really. I'm okay." Of course now that she was actually paying attention to her surroundings, she couldn't hear a thing. No sounds of branches or twigs snapping. The sound of heavy paws hitting the forest floor was gone too. The forest was quiet. She glanced around realizing that she was no longer being chase and that she probably just ran up this tree for no apparent reason. Her cheeks went red and she placed her chin on her right paw sighing. "I... am an idiot..."

He was confused, honestly. He viewed the feline with a curious frown, head tilting to the side. He just stared at her, then flicked his head to the side to view the bushes. Was she hiding from something in particular? He stared at her, again, and then turned when he heard rustling.... Oh? Was it... was it...
A squirrel. It rushed out and froze when it saw Val staring at him. Silence.... and then it fled when the vixen spoke once more. He glanced up, grinning at the feline-vixen with amusement.
"Were you hiding from a squirrel, little miss?" He purred, a genuinely pleasant smile on his lips.
