It's about that time again where I rant about current thoughts going through my head. Here's a thought...

Many people will cringe at the fact I really like the Wii. Let's face it, it's been bashed by literally every game critic out there, but there are a few harsh truths that many people don't really want to face, or are...for lack of better words... Zombie Gamers! The people who really hate on things they know nothing about and stick to the main stream spending sixty bucks on eight hour gaming experiences consistently.

There are reasons as to why everyone should have a Wii in their homes if they enjoy gaming, and why Nintendo is genius. I want to speak more on Zombie consumers, but I guess I should hop to it... emotion_donotwant

Sony and Microsoft have been locked in a pointless battle for some time. What irks me about that is the Wii is treated like crap and pushed back... but is it pushed back, or just keeping its distance? Any real fan of Nintendo knows that all Nintendo really does is re-make older classics with the exception of a new franchise here and there. You can re-live your nostalgic moments on the Wii with all of your favorite memorable characters time and time again. It's not over after a trilogy, or a sequel or two. If you didn't play the SNES it's cool, you can make new memories, and I am sure consoles later they will bring you back to that time... but what particularly stands out about this is that the Wii really pushes to "couch" game. This is why your memories stand out. It's because majority of the games for the Wii are meant for that four player breathe of fresh air. Something that the PS3 and XBOX almost completely lost. There are four controller slots... but no reason to ever use them. It's dead, and defeats the purpose entirely. The Wii almost always utilizes this. It's not one of those consoles where you sit at home and play through the network in lag. For majority of the games, You play with your friends or family while you bond. Due to most social networking sites, bonding with someone in a room is something that doesn't really happen often if you're someone like me which... majority of gamers are. You don't call them up to ask how they are because it's plastered all over their FB. You know how they have been recently, so there's no catching up, really. :l

Nintendo is constantly thinking of new ways to bring you together. Just because you don't like a console, it doesn't mean it's a bad console and I believe most people need to start thinking outside of the box a little bit. Xbox and PS3 added features "Achievements" and "Trophies" where players play through games new and old to acquire and unlock them on their account. The more you stack, the more satisfied you feel... but it never ends. It makes the player really want to get more trophies, and achievements, and work harder on the games they are playing. The Wii on the other hand does not have this rush. It doesn't make you feel like you need to move to the next trophy or accomplishment because you're going at your own pace. You take in the adventure, and you enjoy it. I enjoy Trophy hunting, but like collecting anything it gets pretty overwhelming and most gamers don't even realize the fact that they are so overwhelmed by it.

Lastly I am speaking of cost. The Wii is relatively cheap. In comparison to any console out there today I guarantee it's pretty much the cheapest one. People don't have the money to get PS3 or Xbox because they are so retarded overpriced and there are problems with the older models that weren't. The Wii's only had a model or two... both of them fairly cheap, and work as smooth as ever. I guarantee you can get a used one for 50 bucks or more. That's as much as a Nintendo 64. emotion_c8 You can do it all without suffering a red ring of death or a yellow light.

So the next time you're playing your Wii, give it some thought and think about the experience you're having. It shines best when you have people together, and you can enjoy your timeless classics with a great amount of replay ability whenever you find yourselves in need of a fun time of relaxation.

That concludes my thoughts on the matter. I am going to go play some games. Happy Weekend!

Boy you best be trollin, Playstation 360 U is where it's at.

Haters gonna hate on Nintendo even though their consoles are always innovative, built like tanks, cheap and guaranteed a piece of Nintendo's IP pie.

It's true!

People will always find something to complain about... You should see my FB gonk I have never seen so much bashing. I refuse to take part in it unless I am asked my opinion.

Still, the Xbox apparently is veering away from gaming. In order to increase sales, they are making all of their games digital on the next console... and also, turning the entire console apparently from a "gaming" console, to an "entertainment" console. I am not quite sure how that's any different but, that's what they are saying...

I think they are trying to veer away from the competition and get more sales as a whole. Used game sales are apparently destroying the companies and they have taken some preventative measures... like putting key codes for multiplayer access in new games at a one time use only... among other things. So if you get that specific game used than you can't play online unless you pay the extra ten bucks. Microsoft is trying to eliminate that completely, and just charge everyone full price. There is also the argument that in the T.O.S. they have the right to legally take the games away from you, so technically you don't even own the games you're buying digitally. People are uncomfortable with that. That goes for anything... including Steam and PSN. So this entire operation could crash and burn... and if it does I hope they learn from it. I don't know what you'd do to deserve a game being taken away from you, but I personally love owning physical copies. I am also a sucker for box art.

If you ask me, Nintendo has always had the right idea. They even sell nintendo gems you can't get anymore right in their Wii store. Same with Playstation Network. The only ones that aren't are the amazing ones with licensing issues. There are only two I want and they are friggin $300.00 each. They won't ever be put on the network.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TL;DR: Xbox next console goes digital only, T.O.S. for buying digital games sucks, and nintendo has always had the right idea.
