They believed her brother was a prodigy and it was Suzume's fault that he was dead. For that, she thought of being a guardian to protect people. Being a Kitsune made her realize that she had more powers than what she shown, but she doesn't use them. Her parents separated after the news of her mother being a Kitsune.
