BakaTulip Sneaky-Snake Oh, okay. I thought it won something at the Oscars, demmit. ; ; Oh well. I knew Emmy won something. Poor Phantom cast, well, at least it was nominated ...? >> Noms are good in and of themselves! Corpse Bride got a nom for best animated flic.... even though it lost
Was that this year's oscars it was nominated? I mean, I guess so .. >> What other ones were there? And which one beat CB? : /

And which one beat CB? : / The three for best animate film were Corpse Bride, Howl's Moving Castle, and Wallace and Grommit.... W&G won... crying i rented corpse bride earlier tonight. if i do say so myself, it's one of the best movies i've ever seen aside from PotO (but i usually put all things phantom in a league of their own!). i guess wallace and grommit was more... kid friendly... but i think corpse bride should have won!

Except I imagine there's a lot less Victoria-hate than there is Raoul-hate. I wouldn't have minded if Howl had won either. Miyazaki is a FANTASTIC director, and Diana Wynne Jones (the movie was based off of her book) is a good author. Winning combination.

I don't know. I thought it flowed very nicely (it was a bit bare bones, but TB doesn't seem to like doing long movies anyway). Now, if you're looking for a movie that feels like they rushed the plot, I recommend the last half hour or so of Beetlejuice. Funny movie, very endearing, but they double timed the pace there at the end trying to cram everything in.

However, I still think that Corpse Bride didn't have the same thought out story or feelings for its characters that the other nominees did. I would've been very happy if Howl's had won, too.

Sneaky-Snake Corpse Bride IS like PotO thinking about it.
Just like Beauty and the Beast. .. <33 Yeah, I see the resemblance. Heck, I can relate to both movies right now! Actually, that's stuff pretty much done with, and I got the guy in the end!
