Name: T'mar
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Rank: Rider/Apprentice harpercraft
Appearance: T'mar is a young man of average height and weight, with soft features and a gentle look in his hazel eyes. He is rarely unhappy, and usually seen with a serene look, or a smile on his face. He has long light brown hair, which falls to his shoulders. It's a hassle, but he likes to keep it in good shape. He also likes to make sure he looks presentable. It seems to make things a lot easier when it comes to introducing himself to people and making a nice impression.
How many Turns old were they when they Impressed? 20

Personality: T'mar is a very gentle man, who doesn't like violence and doesn't enjoy hurting other people. He isn't one to get into fights, and prefers talking out problems rather than leaving them to escalate towards violence. He is a very peaceful, and for the most part people enjoy that about him. He is one they can count on, at least when it comes to friendly conversation. He also enjoys making people feel better through his songs, which he is very talented with. His voice is as gentle as his personality, and he loves to sing songs about hope and inspiration.

But T'mar is far from a perfect being- he has trouble taking action when it is needed. Most of the time, he is concerned about dealing with trouble and ultimately upsetting one side of the field. T'mar likes to stop distress, but his weakness is confrontation. When it comes to helping someone through a tough situation or making them feel better after a bad day, or even congratulating them on a good day, it's easy. He doesn't have any trouble. Fights.. they always have people walking away unhappy, and though he does want to leap in and try to make them feel better, sometimes he just can't find the courage to risk it. In that regard, he is not one to depend on, normally better suited for non-confrontational trouble.

It doesn't make him much of a fighter.

T'mar is a physically weak man, who has probably never thrown a punch in his life. Though he has been beefing himself up with his recent trainings, he is still no match for most of the other riders out there. Which isn't something he's too upset about, as he really doesn't WANT to going around using brute force, or any kind of force, to win fights.

When it comes to his dragon, T'mar loves him unconditionally. He actually draws strength to get through tough situations from the belief his dragon has in him. The bronze had seen something in him from birth, and had spent his young life trying to draw it out of him. Though T'mar is unsure of himself, especially his potential as a future weyrleader, he wanted to do right by his dragon and try his best.

T'mar only has one other fear- bugs. He dislikes them immensely and can usually be seen screaming like a little girl if one happens to get on him. While the others usually find this hilarious, it is the one thing that can really upset his mood and make him a quieter being throughout the day. As loving and compassionate as he is towards most things, bugs didn't make the cut. He has issue killing them, of course, but he's not against finding someone else to murder the little b*****d from him.

History:T'mar grew up in Harper Hold, to two loving parents who took the best of care of him. They were both accomplished Harpers, but neither felt their jobs were more important than their children. He and his sisters, two of them, grew up never wanting for anything. T'mar was always a very happy child- he enjoyed singing and was extremely talented in many of the harper arts. His parents were very proud of him, and thought he would go far in his craft. He was happy to, as well, as he loved the peace and joy it brought people when he sang to them. From an early age, T'mar proved himself a special child, not only in his music, but in his desire to make people feel peace. He loved to comfort those who needed hope, and fill them with a sense of contentment no matter their position in life. He equally loved making friends, and there were few in the hold, child and adult, who didn't at least know about him. He enjoyed spending him time bringing joy to the hearts of many, just by being kind to them. Kindness, really, was its own reward for him. Just the feeling of being nice was what he needed. Though some suspected he had some kind of ulterior motive, at least at first, no one was ever able to find out just what it was he was hoping to gain as the years passed.

Then, when he was 16 turns old, the hold was searched and he was found to be a good candidate. Though he was reluctant to leave home, he was someone who believed in hope, and he was hopeful this move was something that would allow him to bring happiness to other people. The hold, collectively, were unhappy to see such a talent go, but even his parents wouldn't deny him something he wanted to do just because they thought he was better spent somewhere else. So they let him go to Fort with the rider, wishing him the best of luck.

Candidate life was a very different experience for T'mar, but he didn't hate it. It gave him so much opportunity to meet and enjoy the company of a vast collection of different types of people. People who hadn't even existed in any form at his hold. It was all so intriguing, and he wanted to speak to everyone, happy to do the same thing he had done in his own home- make friends and bring hope.

His first time at a standing did not go well for him. He didn't manage to impress, and many believed it was because he wasn't forceful enough. He preferred to bring happiness to others, and was always in the background. It didn't seem like he had the heart to take a stand and make a name for himself beyond 'the nice guy'. Many didn't think a pacifist like him could ever impress a dragon, and the search rider had been hilariously wrong about him from the get-go. He didn't seem to mind, though, continuing his learning and singing in his free time. He kept a hold of his harper roots, not wanting to let his talent fade through lack of practice. He wasn't disliked within Fort, though he was something of an anomaly.

Then a new boy arrived, and T'mar found himself with a better friend than he had ever imagined he would connect with.

I'na and T'mar met when I'na first came to Fort at sixteen turns old. Though I'na was very shy and secluded, T'mar was happy to welcome him. He spent the first couple days visiting with I'na and helping him get adjusted, kindly telling him that everything was going to be alright. T'mar had been at the weyr for a while, and was a well-known, well-treated young lad. And he seemed happy to treat others with the same respect he had earned, even if they were knew. He was gentle and sweet, and made I'na feel like he was home, even away from his family. The two became very good friends, and T'mar was one of the only people I'na could open up to.

When the next hatching came, and it was I'na's very first time to stand, T'mar stood beside him, offering him comfort. It was an exciting experience for the both of them, where I'na impressed a self centered dragon named Orkath, and T'mar impressed an impulsive, brave bronze named Idath. Neither one had been expecting to impress at all, and impressing together was a delight to them both.

After the impression, I'na and T'mar learned how to live with their new partners, but continued to be friends to one another as well. T'mar sang songs for Orkath and was I'na's sole confidant, and I'na helped keep Idath healthy after his various mishaps through his own recklessness. Together, they got through their tough training and became riders for Fort, wanting to work together and good friends should.

T'mar struggled a bit with his training, if only because it put him in a position he was not used to- one where he had to forgo listening to other people and make decisions on his own. Decisions that might not be the best for everyone around him. It burdened him to think he might upset people, but he then had Idath to offer him hope of his own. Something he had always been so eager to impart on others. With Idath to encourage him, he became a more confident man, though he never forgot his pacifist roots, not did he ever give up on his singing.

Not long after they had officially become dragonriders, I'na and T'mar stumbled upon a small clutch hatching in a cliffside. T'mar impressed a cute little brown, while I'na ending up wooing two little firelizards of his own. T'mar named his firelizard Mudball, and enjoyed the company of another creature.

Dragon Name: Idath
Dragon Image: Here

Dragon Personality: Idath was born a willful, happy dragon and was happy to impress a young boy who seemed to like saying peaceful things, but never really took a lot of action all on his own. He grew with the boy, wanting to make him more outgoing and more willing to take some real action. Being so strong himself, he knew he would be able to do much for himself, and much more for his rider. Heck, for anyone.

Idath enjoys meeting new people and dragons, and even enjoys the company of wher beasts and firelizards, though he is mildly concerned he might step on one of them. He is not, by any means, a small bronze, though he wouldn't really be considered a tank, either. He is average in size, but built well, with very powerful wings that make him quite fast for a bronze. Quick little greens could still fly circles around him, but he holds his own in the air. He appreciates other dragons for their strengths and weaknesses, and encourages them to work to their fullest.

Sometimes, his encouraging can end up going in the wrong direction, as he doesn't always have the best advice for others. He can land himself in a mess or two with his attempts to chat, his natural tendency to lead not always backed by sound reasoning. He is, at times, a bit too reckless, and needs his rider to remind him that action is not ALWAYS the best answer to everything. When angered, Idath can't always see how talking can win in a situation. But T'mar is his anchor, and helps him see the light where otherwise it would just be a sea of red. It's what makes the both of them a good match for one another, one always pushing the other in ways they wouldn't normally allow themselves to be pushed. Somehow, it works.

Idath can't understand why their relationship always seems to work out, but sometimes doing the same kind of thing can upset others, or get him in trouble in the end. He chalks it up to their bond.

Chatter is well and good, but not the only thing he considers fun. He enjoys the water, from playing in the ocean to getting a nice bath. Nothing comforts him more than a nice, cold splash. Having others to play with works well for him, too, of course, and baths can usually end up a bit wild... and wet.

For everyone involved.

Why this pair? T'mar is the strength, and Idath is the action. T'mar gives Idath hope and helps him accomplish his tasks with encouragement, while Idath provides confidence and prompts T'mar to take action when he might otherwise let things happen instead.
