Waking Primality
Story Line
In a remote facility, people deemed quote-unquote "exceptional and acceptable" by a shady branch of a government organization, are taken into said facility and altered. Or, as one would hear, "awakened." The most that was known about this awakening is that every subject is placed inside a cryotube filled with liquid. One day, however, the latest and--indeed, greatest yet--subject, under project "9.12," escapes from his cryotube. Having been brought to the facility against his strong will, he was volatile from the start and had been rushed into the cryotube. However his escape was not stealthy--it was explosive and violent. The facility is now no longer in use, and the organization wants it subject back--if not, dead.
They have scraped together a group to hunt down Subject 9.12, 9 for short. Information about the incident and the current situation have leaked--many now have their own interest in what is being called "Case 9.12." Whether it be curiosity, pursuit of unbiased knowledge, self-righteousness, or lust for glory that drives them, there are many very capable individuals now looking into Case 9.12. Not all of them want to oppose him, either; he has not shown any sign of being malevolent, evil, or ill-willed. Some people just want to meet him.
Rules, Info and Bio
I will be playing Subject Nine. You can choose to be one of the recruited to hunt down Nine, one of the individually interested, a Project, or Other (maybe someone who finds themselves in the middle of the situation without knowing at first or something). The Recruited is a limited slot given to a fair number of players.
Playing a Project:
Projects would have escaped the facility or been let out under all sorts of non-disclosure agreements. They are perfect at one thing: you could be the perfect healer, doctor, lawyer, soldier, etc. Whatever you want -- get creative with it!
You would have been taken into the facility as a person, likely not by your will -- or, by your will, but you had no idea what was in store and were likely duped -- and it's up to you whether or not you're glad it happened.
Playing a Recruited:
If you are one of the recruited, you get a badge that gives you more authority and access than the highest in law enforcement. This badge is a stunning ivory color and of intricate design.
Each recruited person was offered a ton of money and a clean record afterwards (in case theirs is "stained" as well as a lot of leverage with the organization afterwards, as in, their own personal wishes. They get half of the money on acceptance of the job, everything else after the job is done. Their first objective is to capture Nine, killing him is a last resort. They have their own desires, so it's possible they'll play with the situation before they really try to get it done. Or maybe not; maybe you guys would rather play get-it-done hardasses.
Most of the recruited are their own individual; they were recruited, not trained by the organization. They each have their own skills and personality. If you want to make your recruited character a uniform, montone robot, go ahead--but you don't have to. They're kind of liked hired hands, but to a greater degree/extent. They are strong; make them so. Also if we could not ALL be doing this job for the money; that would be great. Maybe one of the recruited characters has a personal interest in Case 9.12. Whatever you want to do.
IMPORTANT: It is likely you will die in this RP. Have a back-up character or two. It's okay. You may not, and don't PLAN to die, unless you want to for the sake of drama; but don't dismiss the possibility. Nine has many methods of inflicting death upon others, as will his pursuers I'm sure.
Note, Nine is near-unkillable, but he can feel pain and be dispatched. And he is killable but it's hard. After all; he's the main, and only, laid-out, possible enemy in the entire RP. Don't worry, I'll play him fairly.
Rule list:
-SPCs, or Special Player Characters, are allowed to be slightly overpowered. (I am the SPC of all SPCs as Nine, obviously, for story's sake -- otherwise, I mean, it kinda wouldn't make sense. Others may be introduced later!)
-BEING AN SPC isn't just about being überstrong, it's about being a mover-and-shaker in the story; helping things to develop, stirring conflict, (or solving conflict), and ultimately helping to enrich and move the story in cases where it's not having an easy time being done as is!
-Have fun. If you're not, let me know and let me know why so I can see if I can get it handled, and if you don't want to do that, I suggest giving things a chance to pick up speed or just leave the roleplay if you absolutely hate it.
-You may have more than one character at a time.
-PM me your bios and character concepts. Make the subject line "Case 9.12 Bio." If you'd like to be an SPC (which means more than just being überstrong, it means you're there to help the story!) then include "SPC app" in the subject line.
In the following bio skeletons, you don't have to include every bio detail or "reason-for-being-interested" detail (you can simply put "not disclosed" if you'd like), if you'd rather reveal them through RPing, to make things more fun. I encourage that kind of storytelling and creativity. : ) If you are Other, be creative as well! Place your character well and have fun. If you join but wish to wait to enter, that's fine.
I'll keep a post on the front page that collects all of the important plot details for people that join after the RP has already started.
