" Okay. We'll be heading out now. Good hunting." Alucard nodded to the ODST squad as they looked smaller and smaller as his squad sped off in the warthogs. It was a tense silence as each gunner had there trigger finger pressed tightly to the turrets as they barreled down the abandoned streets of a city Alucard will never know the name to. The eerie silence was broken by the rough sound of weapon fire a few streets away. Alucard was in the lead hog as he began to peer left and catch a glimpse of the gruesome sounding battle.
He sighed as they skid to a stop at the space port. The port was a empty hollow casket that probably held more lives than all the graveyards on earth. So many people dead in a hurry to escape with nothing more than the simple thought of getting out being there salvation to keep pushing. A empty breeze brought the ash and dust settled on the floor to life as Alucard began handing out orders.
" Okay. This is the space port. We are here to secure and defend this place. More units will come in when we set up the beacons on the field. We have a total of 3 hours to get the place in a lock down until then so eyes up and give'em hell. Alucard was satisfied with his small speech sounding of orders as he told the four gunners still stationed on the warthogs to take position behind the hogs and cover the entrance until told otherwise. The rest of the squad followed in a tight nit ace formation as Alucard took point. The loud thud of the boots was easy to alert anyone of there presence. But no one seemed interested in this place yet. The squad of eight split up and took the two seperate wings.
The reek of death and the hollow caskets that were once people were every where. It was a unnerving sight that made many of the squad lose whatever content was in there stomach. The whole squad made it to the security checkpoint before passengers boarded with no incident. A welcome change from todays current events.
