Cary nodded to Caelan and Skelly. Mari was one of those girls who made her deeply uncomfortable by being so very comfortable in her own skin. Cary didn't think she would ever be that self-confident. Not that she considered herself self-conscious or anything like that. But she just wasn't capable of flaunting herself the way Mari did.
"I'm up for talking about eggs," she said. "Typically there's a pool for which egg will hatch which color. Does anybody know anything about that?"
She had never started it, and had no interest in doing so, since she didn't know how to do fancy things like give odds and all that, but if someone else knew who was running it, she'd be interested in betting. She had a half mark or two saved up.

Waggling a single finger around in the air Quindrife grunted at the mention of eggs, she still wasn’t feeling all that glorious about the clutch that was on the sands and was feeling dejected about her chances of Impressing on the small lot. “Eggs, oh boy. If you ask me we shouldn’t be allowing a Igen gold to brood on our sands, this is going to cause a lot of issues after they hatch. I can sense it.” Shifting her weight the tomboy pulled her elbow up to rest her jaw upon her bandaged knuckles. She was more in tuned with the politics of Weyr life than most people her age and was all too aware that nothing good was going to come of this secret business, any candidate that Impressed to those dragons would be riders of shame, at least there wasn’t a gold upon the seven, that would keep Igen and Fort from warring at the very least.
Tipping the hot mug in her hand back the brunette took a deep pull from the contents before giving a small wave towards Emora, Cary, and Mari with her extended forefinger. “I wouldn’t bet a single mark on this lot, dice has better odds.”
