This is a private roleplay between Cais (Never Crazy) and Van (Kurama no Koishi).
Setting: On one of his monthly deliveries to the local bar, Cais is offered a drink which he takes. A night of strangeness ensues and he even meets a girl who seems oddly familiar...

It was delivery day for Cais and he grimaced as he entered the bar with cart of glassware in tow. This was usually his most hated day of the month as he could already hear the songs and conversations of the inebriated. They had a contract with this particular owner and would deliver new glasses and bottles every month to replace those constantly broken and to make sure nothing too old stayed around.
He'd been working this beat for over half a year and the specific bartender once again eyed him as the cart moved ever closer. Cais gave the same nervous smile, setting the cart near the back. "Here's this months'." He said casually, counting the boxes in the cart. "40 cups, 20 bottles." Cais nodded back to the barkeep. The bartender nodded, pointing one of his underlings to take it into the back.
"Payment's already been sent." The bartender said, taking a glass from the back and filling it.
"I know, like usual. Thanks." Cais said, making a salute and taking a step towards the door.
"Not this time, this time you drink." The bartender said, pushing the now full glass towards him on the counter.
"I already told you I don't-"
"This ain't no normal drink, this one I make specifically for you posh types. Now don't be rude, drink the damn thing."
Posh? Cais blinked, staring at the glass and back to the bartender with a scowl. "Every single time we go through this, and every single time I say no and leave. Why are you so insistent?"
"It's nothing bad." The bartender said, taking a glance around the filled bar. "Just every time you come through here you're so uptight, I'm only thinking of your health. Besides, what's one drink to a young man like you, hm? Surely you can take more than that. Especially with one of these fruity tasting girly drinks." The bartender seemed to smirk down at him, reaching for the glass. "But if you can't handle it I'd understand-" A gleam was in his eye.
Cais could feel the pressure of his taunt and grabbed the drink before it was pulled from the counter. Not a word left his mouth as he moved his head back, sucking down the drink in one swoop and slamming the glass back down with some force. It burned going down with an aftertaste of something like coconut. Cais coughed, licking his lips at the same time. "There... now I'll be on my way..."
Grinning, the bartender leaned over. "Now that is what I like to see." He said, raising an arm and shouting over the crowd. "Hey all we have a first timer here, who wants to buy him a drink, eh?!"
"What?! No, don't...!" Suddenly a pile of drinks had piled in front of him and Cais stared unhappily, grimacing as the small bit of alcohol began working its way to his brain. "Ughhhh..."

Van hadn’t been paying much attention to the commotion going on next to her. In fact, she wasn’t paying much attention to anything at all. The captain was well on her way towards inebriation, though at the moment the only evidence of that was the way she occasionally swung her legs under the stool as she sat at the bar, humming a soft tune to herself.
She was only here every couple of months, the tavern being one of many she cycled through on the off chance she did have a night to herself and didn’t want to head home to the ger. She’d come more often if she could, but it wasn’t safe to do so. If she came to the same place too often, she’d be noticed and someone would probably try to set up an ambush on a night when she was too drunk to fight back. Thankfully, the only people who knew her here were the bartender and the captain she’d come with.
Her colleague was off somewhere else, probably trying to get with an unsuspecting girl, which left Van very alone but not unhappy. For the first time in a long while, she was unprovoked and had little reason to be particularly sad. When a shout went up next to her, somewhere in the dim haziness of her mind she felt the urge to look over. A silly smile began to spread across her face when her amethyst gaze fell on the boy next to her. Why did he look so unhappy? He had plenty of drinks in front of him to solve that.
“Hey kiddo,” she said, reaching a foot out to nudge the shorter Lunarian, “You gonna drink all that by yourself? Better get started, then. Bartender!” Her attention shifted momentarily. “Can I get two more? One for the boy, of course.”
Nowhere did it register that she’d nearly killed the him a few weeks ago. After all, she’d said it wasn’t personal. The woman smiled again as she returned her attention to her new friend. “Don’t worry, you won’t even taste it.”

Cais was surrounded in drinks, nearly drowning in them and cast a look of loathing back to the Bartender. He was met with a grin as he poured another drink for him thanks to some woman near him. "I am not drinking all of that." Cais protested, crossing his arms.
"Aye, but then you have to tell the folks who bought these for you that you aren't, do you have enough to refund them all?" The bartender retorted smugly.
Cais blinked, taking a glance back at the Lunarians in the bar who were eying him. It was a deep, pleading sigh that came up as he picked up the first small glass, staring at the dark amber liquid inside. Another look of hatred was shot at the bartender who had wandered to the other side of the counter. "p***k." He said under his breath, tilting his head back and taking the shot.
Internally he gagged, grabbing to the second drink and doing the same. Already his stomach felt like it was on fire and he grabbed it, hating every moment of it. This stuff is so gross how do they drink so damn much?! Moments later he'd gone through the drinks and his head was flat on the counter. His stomach complained through gurgling, but his mind was no longer there enough to listen.
A red haze circled over his cheeks and he glanced to the nearest Lunarian, who a moment ago he hadn't even noticed, but now seemed like a really nice lady. "Heeeey." He said, patting her back with a hand. "You gave me one?" Cais said, pointing at an empty glass. "THAAAANK YOU!" He shouted a moment later, inching closer to her.
Unknown to him in such a state was her identity which was better left that way.

The captain had continued drinking at a much more moderate pace after her drink had been placed in front of her, leaving the boy to his own devices for what seemed to be a few minutes. When Van finally deigned to look over again, he’d finished drinking everything in front of him. This led her to believe that time was going much faster than she thought it was, or the boy could drink much more than she’d initially thought. “Well, color me impressed,” she said, her voice a soft hum in comparison to the noise of the bar.
Van didn’t shift away when he placed his hand on her back, she was so used to that sort of motion. Being drunk didn’t help; she was known to be even more frisky than usual under the influence of alcohol. Inhibitions? They’d long since been shed by this point. “You’re welcome, champ.” A gloved hand lifted and settled on his head to ruffle his green locks affectionately. Now that she was up close, its teal hues were rather pretty—or perhaps those were just the beer goggles.
“I liiike your hair. Is it natural?” she slurred, fumbling with his bangs in an awkward drunken motion as she cradled her chin in her other hand. The world seemed to be swaying somewhat, and it was all she could do to try to stabilize herself. Of course, she wouldn’t realize how drunk she really was until she stood up...
Which she did now, giggling. Grabbing onto the nearest Lunarian for balance, she found herself looking down on that cute mess of green again.

"Absolutely. Thank you." The drunken Cais beamed proudly, happily accepting her hand on his head. His body cried out as he shifted his head, it suddenly becoming heavy though his eyes were glued to the girl. When she swayed he couldn't help but make a snorting sort of laugh, reaching an arm out and grabbing hers to pull himself back up.
It was awkward, certainly as this was his first time drunk. So many emotions were bubbling making his grin widen and his body was feeling heavier than normal. His arm was locked into hers and he fought off a hiccup, somewhat leaning on her for stability - which of course made them both sway a bit.
"I haven't seen someone like you before..." He mumbled, staring into her face with the redness still apparent on his cheeks. "Your hair is a lot better than mine." He said, petting a bit which hung down near her face. He pulled away suddenly. "Soooooooorry. You're just so... pretty." His feet fumbled and he let go of her, promptly sliding against the counter and settling on the floor.
Staring back up he'd become fixated on her. Not like the other girls I know. He thought, grabbing the counter edge and forcing himself to stand as tall as he could. "I bet you dance good." He nodded, his eyes glancing towards the few music players in the house, then back. "Maybe..." His thoughts were gone and he felt a small hiccup. Even the small voice in his head trying to save him was silent as he fumbled with his alcohol intake and trying to impress a lady.
"Oh." He said, slightly frustrated.

Van gazed intently into the other Lunarian’s eyes when he sort of helped her up, as well as she could do so drunk, anyway. Easily returning his smile, she squeezed his arm to her breast, not aware of the fact that they were practically crushed up against each other now.
Normally, she wouldn’t have been impressed by his awkward display. As a woman who frequented these kinds of places, she’d already heard all of the possible pickup lines the other sex could come up with. Even the smoothest talkers were rather trite, so hearing it so candidly from this boy was refreshing. Her mind wasn’t capable of stringing together that kind of logic at the moment, though—all she knew was she liked this boy and the compliments he was spouting off. He was adorable, wasn’t he?
“Aww, you’re really sweet,” she said, her smile widening when she began to comprehend what he was saying. Van barely noticed that he had been touching her hair until he pulled his hand back, prompting her to chuckle. “It’s okay. I get that a lot,” she assured him, pulling his face into her hands so she could really look at him. “What’s wrong? Your face is a bit red, darling.”
But the woman wasn’t too interested in his answer, her attention span having been reduced to that of a goldfish. She did, however, pick up a word in his response that moved her to react. “Dance? Why, yes, let’s.” At that, she took his hand into hers and began to pull him quickly toward the crowded dance floor. Though drunk, her ability to stagger forward was impressive when she had an objective in mind.

They were moving. He hadn't gotten much words out, not that they came out clearly anyway, but something inside just was happy to be around someone. Cais was more than happy to get pulled along, moving to an area emptied out for dancing. In his life Cais had probably danced... never. No matter what occasion he had usually gotten away from it.
But now he wanted it. From outside it probably looked awkward as hell, but taking her hand he moved into a sort of rhythm, twirling her around a little. "You are pretty good!" He said with a smile, pulling her closer and looking at her. It was not something Cais was good at usually, but it seemed to be that the part of his brain dedicated to dance was set free by the alcohol.
The music was shifting and Cais drew closer to his mysterious companion who all he could tell was extremely beautiful and elegant. His red eyes looked back into hers and he smiled again. "You're really graceful out on the dance floor." He said, continuing to sway with the music. "I bet you have a lot of talents." Maybe it was idle complimenting, but he was attempting to do it genuinely.
Something about her just made him feel happy somehow.

Dancing for Van was nearly as natural as fighting was. In her early fighter years, many of her missions had been carried out in nightclubs and bars—it was only natural that she’d develop the ability to dance provocatively. Back then, it was as much of a weapon as the very swords she carried around these days (though they checked their weapons to the bar upon entry). Now that her assignments had deviated away from those kinds of encounters, it was simply just for fun.
She giggled when Cais spun her around, stumbling a bit as she tried to right herself after the movement. Van threw her arms out, finding the Lunarian she was dancing with and settling for wrapping them behind his neck to ease her balance. It didn’t seem as if either of them was doing a particularly good job at staying still. She couldn’t tell whether she was swaying from drink or swaying to the music.
“You flatter me,” she murmured, her face inches from his as she returned his goofy grin. It had been, as always, something she’d already heard before, but somehow coming from him it sounded nice. He was too adorable. Perhaps not in the boyfriend way, but something about him made her want to take him home and put him in a box.
In the next moment, she’d bent his head down and brushed her lips against his forehead.

No longer merely a sign of his drunken state Cais felt his cheeks burn brightly as she got closer to him. "Well not just flattery-" He stopped when he felt the softness of her lips brush against him and blinked, staring up into her eyes. Even like this, Cais knew this was something that didn't typically happen to him. Clearing his throat he looked away, moving back into a sort of half-dance.
What should he do now? Here he was dancing with who he could see as a beautiful woman. Granted his eyes were becoming a little hazy and all he could seem to make out was her long black locks and lovely eyes, he still felt happy to be around her. He felt a surge to show off suddenly and made a sort of strange jumping movement-
-only to completely stumble over and fall onto her, both of them hitting the ground together. "Oof!" He said with a small laugh, opening his eyes finally to notice where he was. "Aaaaah."

It was clear now that there was no chance of the captain remembering anything that happened tonight, which meant that there was no reason to feel ashamed over anything that might have happened, even if the few others around them were surely judging them. The next thing she knew, she was sprawled out on the ground, stuck in an awkward position with the other Lunarian on top of her. Where a sober Van would have been indignant, she only laughed now, rolling onto her side and struggling to sit up. “Hey hun, are you okay?”
She hadn’t hit her head, and the alcohol had all but numbed any pain she’d feel from scrapes and bruises, but the sudden fall made her head spin faster than it had been already. Perhaps it was more prudent for someone to ask her if she was alright, for she was swaying dangerously now as she stood. “Ugh...”
A sudden urge overcame her, and some kind of force directed her to stagger as best as she could toward the bar bathroom. Her night was pretty much over.

"I'm okay." He said, pulling his hands to himself and slowly rising. There'd been some oddness there and he shook his head. "But you, are you...?" She'd begun a slow walk towards the bathroom and he felt suddenly very apologetic. "I'm sorry, so so sorry!" His words were slurred and they came out garbled, but he still managed to get to her before she'd managed to completely get away.
It was possibly the worst entire time to try to stop someone from getting to a bathroom, but inside the inner, drunken self kept telling him to at least say goodbye if it was the last hurrah of the night. Cais was unusually forward as he stood in front of her. "I-you-um..." He was getting dizzy himself but shook it off. "Thank you." He managed finally, taking her hand softly.
"I-I don't do this, like this usually." His brain was beginning to deteriorate and he growled at himself, finally moving close enough to her. It was quick, but surprisingly soft as he managed to give her a friendly peck on the cheek before moving back. "So... thank you, beautiful." Finally he moved aside, holding onto his head a bit as he stumbled.
At least now he could say he managed to give a kiss to a girl, even if it was on the cheek... and when he was drunk - if he remembered that is.

Van barely stopped when the boy from before had somehow appeared in front of her. Couldn’t he see that she was on a mission? She needed to puke, and she’d feel much better after she did so. “Hiii again,” she drawled, falling sideways toward the wall and leaning on it for support. “Look I really gotta—”
But before she could continue, he’d stood up on his toes and kissed her on the cheek. It was cute enough to make even the most serious Lunarian smile. So, drunk Van grinned in spite of herself, though the expression made her feel a little more ill and she hiccupped once, covering her mouth with a fist. “I was wondering when you’d work up the guts to kiss me!”
The woman reached out her other hand then, taking his for a moment to squeeze it in a half-drunk, half-reassuring manner. “So thank you, my prince.” She’d given no thought to the pet name; it was one of many she cycled through, though it seemed fitting for the boy with his crown of lovely hair.
“I’ll... see you later.” At that, she bolted, finally closing the distance between herself and the bathroom.
