Warslik was confused, and greatly so. He'd been to this place all of a day - and had learned enough to survive - but he was still confused as to how things... WORKED.
The lighting hurt his eyes - and he could swear he heard the buzzing of the daemons powering the strange bulbs that emit the harsh white light. The strange chamber-pots and bathing facilities had given him some issues as well initially, but he had at least grasped those concepts pretty quickly - he thanked the dark lords of the pits for that.
But now he was lost - and again confused. He was looking for the library to see if there was any eldritch lore that was new to him that he could "borrow" and make a replication of. Because knowledge was power, and he knew if he was going to get anywhere at this place - he'd need all the knowledge he could get.
So he turned another corner, looking for signs of life - or directions to the main book depository.

Theo was on his way back from vocal lessons as he rounded the corner and smacked hard into someone in front of him. The pain resonated through his face rather quickly before it was replaced by the pain in his a** as he fell backward onto the floor. This was what happened when he didn't pay attention to where he was going and instead stared at the floor as he screamed in his head about how he couldn't keep his pitch tight while singing.
Pain. Pain is what happened. At least this time it was to himself.
"Auugghhh," He groaned, flopping slightly to his side as he clutched his face. Pinching his nose he breathed in sharply, but was relieved to feel that nothing was broken.
He remembered that his pain came from smacking right into someone and he leaned forward with another groan to see who it was he actually knocked into. At first glance it was another kid around his height, and a dude at that.
Great, he was going to get beaten up today, wasn't he?
"H-hey! Are y-you o-ok?" He asked, his words seizing slightly as he spoke from the sudden and awkward encounter.

WHACK!
Warslik had not been expecting to turn the corner right into someone else - he wasn't sure what part of his body had hit the other person, as he too fell backward onto his rear, with a grunt. He did a perfunctory check over of himself, realized the damage was minimal and slowly stood. Looking at the other boy.
"My apologies," Warslik said, offering a hand to the other boy. "I am unused to this place and lack the knowledge of its layout. I am fine, no harm done to mine person." At least not enough to say so. If anything his pride was a bit bruised.
"And you? Are thou unharmed?"

Theo starred as the other kid got up after checking himself and quirked a brow quickly. He was mildly surprised that the other kid was not as off-put by what just happened like he was, and wondered if he was just acting tough, or if he was really this calm under circumstances such as this. It wouldn't be the first time someone was this weirdly calm after he had an accident around them.
"Oh, uh.... n-no. I'm fine," Theo said, wrinkling his nose again, holding back the reaction to the twinge of pain and forcing himself up off the floor.
He talks funny, Theo thought to himself. It reminded him of some of the old twists the actors in the opera house would use for the speaking portions of the musicals or operas. Maybe he was an actor, or a performer. That'd be cool.
Then he realized the other kid mentioned not being used to the place, "Oh, uh, you're n-new, then? R-right?"
Jutting out a hand instinctively, Theo stood there introducing himself, "Uhm, I'm, uh, I'm Theodore A-Ashland. Uhm, everyone calls me Theo or, uh, Treble."

Warslik bowed his head and took the other boys hand, giving it a firm handshake. "Mine name is Warslik Witherson, Eight son of the Sixth, Seventh son. Or you may call me Daemonkeeper if you prefer - as that is my chosen vocation."He really didn't have a nickname yet. Such things weren't often used in the manse. "It is a pleasure to make thine acquaintance Theodore A-Ashland." Warslik almost stumbled on the stuttered last name, thinking it was actually how it was pronounced. "Or do you prefer Treble? Art thou of a musical bent?" Warslik wasn't big on music as a whole, but he knew the basics. "But I digress - yes, I have but been here one day - and so much eludes and baffles me. Tis quite vexing and I am fit to burst."

Theo was confused by the very elaborate introduction as his hand was shaken by the other boy. It wasn't an unusual greeting, but it was definitely not one he heard used around here or at home. In fact, he was pretty sure he only heard formal introductions like that come from the mouths of high-standing patrons to the opera house and in the plays when people were playing individuals of high standing.
...Was this kid rich or something?
Theo gave a very tentative smile to Warslik stumbled over his last name, not entirely sure if he was being made fun of or if the other boy actually thought that was how his last name was pronounced. That probably wasn't the case... why would he think someone was intentionally trying to make fun of him? They're not like the kids outside the academy. Everyone here is nice.
"Oh, uhm, Theo is, uhm, Theo's ok. Everyone else calls me Theo," He said as he pulled his hand away after their introduction and scratched the back of his neck with a small laugh, "I don't really like being called by my rookie name...But, uh. Y-yeah. I do musical stuff. Uhm, my mom is an opera singer."
Theo beamed a little brighter as he mentioned his mother, being the very proud son he was of her.
With Warslik's expressed frustration, Theo quieted a bit. He wasn't entirely sure what he should so to the other boy aside from things like 'That's sucks.' or 'Ok'. He wasn't even sure if he was supposed to comfort another boy. Is that what you did to other dudes?
Theo's social awkwardness was rearing its ugly head again. Even before his powers had manifested he wasn't exactly the most popular kid around and regarded as a bit weird, but he did have friends. It's just most of them were awkward guys like him or girls. His time in the academy forced him to become better suited towards social situations, but he still wasn't the best.
I suck, He thought to himself quickly before forcing himself to speak up to some capacity, "UH, uhm, w-what exactly baffles, uhm, you....W-warslik?"

"Ah, Opera, a noble profession," he bowed his head. "I am sure she must be a wonderful performer - you will have to get me tickets sometime." While Warslik himself was not big on musical talent, he did enjoy good musical entertainment. "Oh Theo, Theo, everything baffles me - I can not make heads nor tails of any of these damnable contraptions and magic... All of this!" He motioned around the two of them. "It was just by luck that I figured out the chamber-pot..."
