Kinetav's morning smile faded as Lizzy mentioned Liliana's mental state, for the last he knew she was curled up in the fetal position with Edge and him telling her that deaths were necessary to maintain peace; he could not feel his presence in her mind nor her in his last night either, another remarkably off factor that set him on edge. Focusing on any kind of possible wave length between the two, a brief image flashed into his mind and caused a small searing pain as he didn't fully understand the link between them yet:

"She...I mean, her wavelength seems stable, but she's over in...no way...she's in the swamp again? In the very capitol of the people we encountered yesterday. She was there when you were there as well, Lizzy."

Kinetav watched Lizzy's reaction with interest and a hint of pity as he couldn't look her in the eyes, wanting to protect Liliana but somewhat unable to as the sting of his initial journey to the Devil's Eye Desert two months ago was still as fresh as if it was yesterday. His own mind simultaneously ran multiple scenarios concerning Liliana's reason to show up both the day before and the current day, even knowing about the capture of Leifang and Arron yet still sending out another young person like Lizzy; unable to narrow down the scenarios enough to come to a reasonable conclusion, there was little he could do to convince Lizzy when he himself was somewhat unconvinced:

"Well, it's settled then."

Grasping his right arm while extending and stretching his fingers, a small grin cracked onto his face as small tendrils of red entered his right eye at the thought of the pain he had felt and the cackle of a woman rang through his mind.

You're wrong, Edge. She reminds me of us, and you've seen how we can grow and even the lives we can save. To train or treat her any differently than we were treated by Krayth would be...heartless.

No, I've done nothing of his caliber. Bringing down our Matron upon Andalusia, raising a young Voidsworn who had been lost and nearly killed that same day, and dying for his cause...these kinds of grand things I have not yet done.

No. Krayth might have had Beyruun at his side, but I believe that I have a better counterbalance that keeps me sane, rational, adaptive, and yet confused all at the same time.

Walking up to Lizzy, he pointed at some nearby buildings and beyond them as his neighbors stopped paying attention to them; his tone was more somber than before, more real and focused as the grin disappeared. For accuracy, despite the pain from doing so, he had Edge help pull the memories back into his mind as if he was still living the events as he spoke:

"Two months ago while I was but a student, Grand Marshall Lord Srin Azio of the Citadel sent me as a supposed peacekeeper to talk things over with the Devil's Eye Desert. What he did not tell me, on the other hand, is that the two nations were at great odds with one another. I was taken hostage at first sight, bound and sent into the ring before all the people to be judged and more than likely killed despite my gauntlet showing all the truth I thought was necessary."

The Voidsworn who had shown himself tough yesterday and nearly unwavering in combat now closed his eyes and rubbed his face as he remembered how helpless he had been without Edge; by the time his eyes had reopened, his entire right eye had turned red as he stared off at the arena:

"Someone saved my life that day as well and showed me a path. I feel your pain, so I will ask...do you wish to train with me today? To become stronger than that which you already are, and to try to overcome your 'helplessness?'"
