The Deities are revered as Gods, but they're comparable to Gods of Greek mythology: they're powerful, but not exactly all-powerful for invincible. They're mortals that were transformed into new entities, capable of feats beyond normal mortal capabilities. This comes with increased strength, agility, stamina, and power...generally speaking. They have eternal youth, but can be killed. The difference in physical capability between a normal mortal and a Deity is comparable to a an average child to adult in their prime. Though some excel in particular areas, this is generally true of all Deities.

A Deity who was once human, for example, is no longer human...but has the same soul. Deities' personalities are generally the same as their previous lives, unless their personalities change from being a power in Heaven.

To commemorate their rebirth as "immortal" life forms, they are often given titles to replace their names. This is to make it easier for people to pray to them. For example: "Yaiba" is much easier to remember than "Onyx Zinogre". Deities' appearances tend to relect their respective themes, more than any mortal counterpart. This is because they're the embodiment of their theme. For example, Yaiba has blade wings, and sword feet.

I think the best way to sum them up is "super-powered demigods with the appearances and abilities based on each of their respective themes".
