Ryelle was done. Absolutely done with all of this idiocy.
The waifish girl, perched precariously on the brink of teenagehood, was in full-fledged tantrum mode. She and her beloved 'Mummy dearest' had had their first all-out tiff, a war of words, explosive gestures and fingers waggled at one another. Amashen, her guardian's partner in crime, had watched from his place on the couch, grinning infuriatingly at the twosome the whole time. The only thing that had surprised Ryelle about that was that the vexing oaf hadn't asked for popcorn whilst the two of them had a battle of wills.
She hardly remembered what the fight had been about now, but so help her, she had been right and she was not coming back! Ooooh, but Tiis made her so mad sometimes!
Panting as she came down the sidewalk, she smoothed her pastel pink and cream skirts down, taking a deep breath to soothe herself. "I will not let Mummy get the best of me." It was a near-growl as she brushed back stray strands of blond, tucking them behind her delicate ears. "Know-it-all little skank." She didn't exactly know what that word meant, but she'd heard 'Shen use it, and she knew it was supposedly derogatory.
Now. To business. She had pocket change, and since the day was winding down into evening, she knew she had a limited amount of time to get to the Sweets Shoppe before it closed. A girl had to have her priorities after all.

As it turned out, Ryelle wasn't the only person out for sweets this late in the day- there was a pair already in the shop, a tall dark-haired young woman in an expensive looking dress, with her scaly young charge sitting securely in the crook of her arm.
This was a mission for knowledge- Jiang needed to know something more about sweets before he saw Remi again. She'd offered to bake things for him, it would be rude not to make some effort to educate himself on the subject in the meantime, considering how much she seemed to know already. His mother- something of an expert on the subject herself (well, the eating end of it, anyways)- had been slightly too enthusiastic maybe in offering to take him on this particular outing. He personally believed she just wanted an excuse to buy great piles of chocolates, though he kept that to himself.
And buying great piles of chocolates- and other confectionaries- she was, each variety accompanied by a brief explanation for his benefit before she flittered off to choose something else, leaving one of the poor clerks to scramble after her to package up what was quickly becoming probably the largest sale they'd have for weeks. The amount of pieces being spent had even quickly deterred the clerks from looking at him too dissapprovingly- it was amazing the difference money could make, in sufficient quantities.
Honestly, after the first five minutes Jiang realized that he was really just along for the ride here, and it was probably best if he just left his mother to it. She certainly seemed to be in her element.Azure Desiderium (That is totally okay, I have been all sorts of busy lately too. xD Sorry it took me so long to get to this. v.v )
