Turquoise and Coral painted colorful streaks on a soft, wood brown pelt as a young female dragon sunned herself in a long clearing of grass, a content murmur escaping her as she twisted and purred in the long grass, inhaling the scent of the earth and laying her ears back, wiggling around like a hatchling.

She lifted her head and peered up at the sky curiously, a mewl leaving her as she flopped back over to scratch an itch between her wings on a large stone. Her feathers ruffled and she neatly nosed her feathers back down and into place. She lifted her head to sniff the air and sighed comfortably.

She didn't get this time to herself often. Her guardian had four other dragons beside herself, all male, and all protective of the only female in the home den, the female that had been found as a wriggling youngling, caught in a tree during a storm by Arashi and their guardian Angel. She loved her dysfunctional, weird family, but she loved being a part of nature too. She knew where she came from, knew what her parents were like, but had no desire to return to the tribe she had wandered from as a youngling. They were too certain, planned too far ahead.

She just wanted to live in the moment.

Which, laying her head down, Ayita could comfortably say she was doing so. Mmm, comfy and warm, nice breeze... I need more days like these... she mused.

In one of his random and off days, Ullr had decided to go for a walk away from most everything he was comfortable with ( aka, snow and ice and exploding frozen aspen trees) to a more greener pasture. He wasn't too comfortable here, but at least he had the smart idea to keep his bells off. Gods above, he didn't want another 20 questions on why he wore bells if he came across another of anything.

And he did. He did by accident, again. Though this time they seemed to be rolling around in the sweet grass rather than doing something silly like napping when there was sun to be frollicked in. He approached, carefully. This one was another female. Females in his experience were mean and ill tempered even when seemingly enjoying the day. Ullr apporached, slowly...then gently cleared his throat to catch her attention subtly.

He spoke softly, quietly... hushed like snowfall, "Warm, yes. Though I could do with a few falling flakes of crystal water. Too warm in the sun, tolerable with the breeze. " He paused and tilted his antlered head to the side before sitting politely a good ways away in case there was someone watching in this open plane. You never know with stray females. "My apologies. I am recent to coming down from the permanant snow to these verdant grounds, I mean not to intrude...?" His statement was a question, and a silent statement that he would leave if she but ask. Intruding, he didn't like to.

The white, fluffy, and cold antlered male stilled despite the breeze blowing his mane, beard, and feathered fur about. Really, he could almost be a statue from how still he sat. A great contrast to the more animated companion of his at his Guardian's temple.

So quietly he had come that when his throat cleared, still she startled, tho the reason was more a surge of curiousity than one of fear. Her silver eyes flew from the sky to the newcomer. She flicked her ears back uncertainly, she was used to the males she came to meet being stern and obsessed with a female's safety.

Her Guardian-brothers were always telling her she should not be alone, or wandering in other territories...

When he addressed the weather however, his words matching her thoughts to the warmth, she was taken aback. Her ears perked forward, brown auds dishevelling her short black mane, which was slowly growing longer as the time since her reaching adulthood passed.

She took in his appearance curiously. She had never seen a dragon like him. He had a lot of hair like her hornless Guardian-brother Grimm, but he had horns.

Unique, grand antlers that made her want to lean closer to see.

She came closer slowly, muscles tight and rippling nervously, a mix between cat and serpent as she coiled. She was a little shy, but also, curious. It was, in part, a curse. His markings were interesting, the grey speckling on his pale coat and the thicker, white plume from his head to his shoulders, it all looked so strange to her, and yet so fitting.

All of that fur, I imagine you're a bit warmer than myself. she murmured, sitting a few feet away. And please, don't worry... you're not intruding. It's a nice day for new company. her voice was soft, airy, like a whisper in the wind.

She was so much a part of nature and so very aware of her surroundings, that she seemed to blend in with the earth and trees, save for her bright Turqouise and Coral markings. The fur that hangs around your sides... it reminds me of the way icicles hang from trees during winter. she mused outloud once more. I wonder why he's so far away from his snowwy surroundings, down here in the sun... she thought to herself.

She seemed to display caution and curiosity at once, the snowy one found this amusing. His ears had moved forward, slowly, as his attention fell from all around this curiously marked earthen female to just her being. He took note of her wings and how they were held, having never seen a dragon with such features, and took great note of the intricate patterns along her legs and arms.

Yet, he took note, despite the bright colored scales along her stomach and neck, as well as that bright blue that reminded him of the coldest winter's sky, she could blend in. If he was to pass his eyes over her quickly, she would look nothing more interesting than some large mound of dirt probably kicked up from a badger or ground squirrel's excavation.

The adaptations to the environment favored found him fascinated, and at the same time satisfied. It wouldn't do if one didn't suit their favorite land... it wouldn't do indeed.

Her voiced observations, accurate as he was quite warmer than he would have liked in the sun's kissed light, brought perhaps a slight smile to the snowy statue. Even her voice sounded like the windswept grass. Delicate, hushed, and musical in its own unique way. It was a quiet song. Ullr didn't seem to notice he was smiling until he realized that his gums were getting slightly chilled in the soft breeze.

He spoke again, the silent rumble of the snowpack drifting through his own song, "With cold, one adapts through the gifts given by the Gods. Thick fur and thick hide be one of many. I would well be out of my league were I to stay in such a colorful land, less I change diet to sample the never ending greens. "

The great snow beast settled into a relaxed pose. Tensing up and coiling would just cause more heat, which would be most unpleasant at this time. How could other dragons live down here, he started to think, but then took note of the shorter fur and the less dense coat. Ah, they didn't have to deal with the chill. They were missing out, but so was he on their grand plains of grass and constant food.

Her compliment and comparisome to ice on branches brought a blink and a self-concious reaction to pick up both his front claws and take a look at how his feathers hung. "I admit, I never thought of it like that. They do, don't they? Curious. They do catch snow quite well. After a walk I have to spend a few hours grooming to remove the snow balls that form." he mused with a quiet rumbling laugh.

Both hands went back to the ground to stablilize his seated position. "Though, I dare say I would be at a loss down here. Such warm colors and warm souls... Quite the contrast. And such bright colors too, lovely against the emerald sea of grass..." His cold eyes seem to sparkle for a moment, a polite tease that was a compliment to such the odd female, "They make the color 'Blue' take on a new meaning. So much warmer than what I am familiar with. So much more inviting. I had to see such things for myself, and they were quite true... " His voice fell back to silence, feeling like he had spoken far too long.

He was a guest, after all. It was rude to talk so much about ones self, "I am called Ullr from the Eternal Snows. Thank you for allowing me to stay and converse. " The soft words were punctuated with a dip of his head, the expansive tines almost glistened with perhaps ice coating in the sun.
