This is what a tournament was like? The young female couldn't fully understand why anyone would want to do something like this... All the eyes... Nivritti wasn't exactly a shy person. However she tended to move behind the scenes and now she was the center of attention. This was completely out of her element and she couldn't stop her hands from shaking. Using her hand to brush back her fully bodied purple hair, she used her scarf to tie it and keep it from her face. She felt oddly warm here; her hands gripped her skirts as she looked around for her opponent. Nivy wasn’t exactly what you would call a fighter. She was more what she thought of as a scrambler. –If- she got into a fight she usually scrambled around and used her surrounding so she could get away. It was very rare for her to actually stay and fight if she had a way out. Obviously this place had no way out, and it wasn’t that she was being forced to be here either. Nivritti accidently got herself signed up. She was eavesdropping on something juicy when someone said “Sign up or get moving.” so she signed up. And now look at the predicament she got herself into. The information could be useful however if she could get the other pieces. Nivy would have to look into that if she lived through this. She wasn’t too sure if that was going to happen right now. Pulling out a couple daggers she checked the blades. She didn’t really like pain but hey, maybe she could make some connections here. Right? Good silver lining maybe? Her thoughts were taken from herself when the crowd’s cheers got louder and a gong sounded. This was really happening, her heart felt like it was going to beat right out of her chest. She moved her daggers in her fingers and got ready to throw. [ Total: 9 / 30 ]

Unlike his namesake, Sang Hee was not benevolent in the least. He was, however, quite handsome; his black hair curled faintly, thanks to the instruction of his mother's stylist friends when he was young, and the ridge of one ear was dotted with elaborate silver jewelry, much of which dangled down into loose, thin chains and a single gem on each.
Sang Hee spent a very long time cleaning, grooming, primping and training. Pretty much in that order. All that he loved as much as winning was looking good, and it reflected-- however, to any well-trained fighter or captain it would become apparent that the young man had too much pomp in his fighting style and not enough substance.
Tournaments, however, showcased his loveliness. He flashed his opponent a winning smile and, under his breath, whispered: "I'm going to make you suffer." He waved, still beaming, and then unhooked his weapon from his side: a whip, rubbed gold so that it gleamed in the light. His first gesture after bowing to the crowd and trying to grandstand some cheering and applause, and then he walked calmly towards his opponent, smiling, as if they were friends.

The male seemed like quite the crowd pleaser, Nivy glanced over at him and she thought he mouthed something but she missed it with the noise level so high and he turned away from her. Shaking her head she needed to focus. He was approaching her now with… A whip? Of all the weapons, outside of being erotic… He was a rather attractive male. Maybe after the fight they could go out. Ugh! That was neither here nor now. Focus Nivritti! She yelled at herself. Whips functions varied and the young girl had never faced one before like this so she wasn’t too familiar with them in this kind of manner. They were good with grabbing and if her opponent was any good he could deflect her daggers with it. This would prevent her from being able to do distance fighting. She was never strong with fighting in general but close combat was even worse. She exhaled and flashed the boy a sweet smile before twirling the dagger in her left hand. “Someone that could be compared with flowers shouldn’t be in such a place.” Her right hand pulled back to the side and flung forward releasing her second dagger. The sun glinted off it quickly as it hurled forward, with Nivys hope that it would make it past the whip. Her eyes following its path as she jumped backwards away from him. The outcome of this fight could easily be determined based on this single moment. The fight had officially begun and the crowd’s roar was more than distracting for the darker skinned female. Her skirt shifted around her ankles and kicked up some dust. What could be done in such a place? There weren’t too many obstacles around for her to use. Her eyes shifted from her dagger to his hand and its grip on the whip. The moment seemed like it took forever, but it was only seconds. [ Total: 10 + 9 = 19 / 30 ]

Sang Hee viewed others as his toys, and he loved breaking his toys. There was something satisfying about ruining something he enjoyed so that no one could ever enjoy it the same way again. With his opponent's first verbal greeting, he wasn't sure if she was inferring he was a flower, or suggesting that she shouldn't be somewhere like this. After all, she had signed herself up, had she not? How strange.
He did not even need to use the whip to catch it, really; dodging such an expected toss would have been simple enough. Such small daggers, Sang Hee did not know why she would make it so obvious that was what she intended to use, and at a range. However, for the purpose of being showy, he snapped his whip up and knocked the dagger from the air, picking it up and admiring it in the light.
"Did you know that some flowers are poisonous to the insects that are drawn to them?" Sang Hee asked, with a sweet smile, before tossing the dagger back at his opponent. He was not trying to hit her: the dagger was followed up immediately with a whip lash, as he walked towards her, raking the whip at her arms.

It was almost sad to see how easy it was for him to evade the dagger. It was what she had thought when she realized she had signed up for this thing. She was going to get pumbled and the only option she had, was to try and avoid that for as long as she could really. It was a joke, essentially insulting when he tossed the dagger back at her. It wasn’t like this was all she had in her, but she knew she was at the disadvantage. Her natural reaction was to raise her arm to block when the whip came at her. When the coil wrapped around her arm left arm she twisted her wrist to grab it, pulling another dagger out with her right hand. She placed the dagger against the taut whip and began a sawing motion trying to cut though the leather. “As a matter of fact I do and I grow them in my green house.” Forcing the tip of the dagger into the leather she used all her body weight to push the whip and dagger down to the earth as she tried to pin the whip down. Scooping up her first dagger from the ground she darted back from him with a spin. The sandy ground wouldn’t let the dagger keep the whip immobile for long, just enough for her to keep some distance. Actually… Knowing her luck right now she wouldn’t be surprised as she turned her back if the dagger didn’t even keep in the ground and he was recoiling the whip back to strike again. As she rounded on her right foot, she released both of the daggers in her hands at him in a smooth motion the one in her left went first and the second, moments behind. Honestly, she probably stood more of a chance than she thought, but that was Sang Hee's angle: he made himself look more impressive than he was, and it had been mostly coincidence he'd known about her attack ahead. If she hadn't taken out her daggers he wouldn't have known, or if she had seemingly tried to close the distance between them she would have mistaken him for a melee fighter.
He did, in fact, start to laugh as she sawed at the whip. It took a flick of his wrist to free it from the dagger; it was thick, cured hide, not some kind of a joke. She did manage to rub off some of the gold cover, however, which Sang Hee disapproved of. He had to remember, internally, not to let an unpleasant grimace distort his handsome features.
Daggers again? Sang Hee expected this fighting style now, he was surprised that she hadn't tried something new. Did she expect his whip to be trapped that long? Instead of trying to whip them both out of the air like he'd done with the last one, however, he opted (for once) for the slightly more practical dash side to side, following which he lashed his whip at her ankles again.

It was a bit of a shame that Nivy hadn’t gone to the Academy yet. The thought slipped through her mind that had she actually had training she might actually be a match for the other guy. Sure he was showy but he was confident in his actions. And it wasn’t like she was raised in a family that fought either. She watched as her daggers were evaded again and the whip came at her. He aimed for her ankles and it was exactly that, that ended it for Nivritti. When the cord grabbed her ankle she lost her balance and fell backwards. She could have dug out some more daggers, the ones with the poisoned tips. But the wind was knocked out of her the way she fell. She coughed and the dust from the impact made it worse. She started to think that no information was worth this humiliation. But one good thing was that she knew what a fight like this was like now and it only solidified her desire and need to go to the academy. It took her a few moments to catch her breath. By that time the male must have approached her. “I can’t exactly say it was a pleasure.” She coughed waving the dust away as she sat up. “But it was a great learning experience.” [ Total: 7 + 8 + 10 + 9 = 34 / 30 ]
