Once upon a time, there was a little girl with dark hair and eyes named Pandora that was brought into the Negaverse by a very wise man. But this little girl was very uncertain about here place in life and how she fit into the grander scheme of things. She went along and did as she was told like a good solider, but in her heart there was that split - always there and always troubling to her - What was her part in all this? Who was Lieutenant Moonstone? Who was Pandora Sagan? How could she be both?

Even with such questions in her most secret of hearts, she managed to move up through the ranks of the Negaverse; Captain Moonstone was surer of herself and her part in the Negaverse, but it wasn't until she began sparring with General Linarite that she finally figured it all out. Linarite helped Moonstone to understand...and she fell into her duties with a renewed resolve and sense of self. She began throwing herself wholeheartedly into energy and star-seed collection, into furthering the Cause.

When the blue haired General defected from the Negaverse, Moonstone felt as though she'd been sucker-punched in the gut. The Captain went to Zinkenite after a time, taking orders and direction from the man that was, like she was, mourning Linarite's loss. Moonstone took new recruits under her wing, training them and trying to help them find their place or learn to be more effective soldiers just as the bluenette had once done for her.

As time went by, the ache caused by one of their best and brightest defecting faded; many used it as a cautionary tale - don't fall for the senshi's lies! Even the Great General Linarite had not been safe from the evil mind-control available to the filthy bastards of the White Moon. But one day, Zinkenite came and told her that Linarite was back. She had returned to them, back where she belonged - yes, she was changed some, but it was still her.

Moonstone wanted to go to her, to reconnect immediately, but knew that Linarite would likely be overwhelmed by the sheer number of Negaverse members wanting to do the self-same thing. She would wait a good while before trying, to give the bluenette time to reacclimate; being corrupted wasn't easy on mind or body - she could imagine that it was no different between Senshi and Negaverse in that manner. Pandora still remembered her induction to the Negaverse - it had been so painful...but worth every second of that beautifully purifying pain, now.

Wary but excited, Captain Moonstone sought out Linarite; if they talked...if they sparred...well, either would be fine with her. She just wanted to reconnect with the woman that had so helped her find her place...Zinkenite had told her that Lina's memories were kind of fuzzy now, that she may not remember things. It was all part of the corruption processes...she understood that.

They were strangers again, but Moonstone was hoping to change that.

Right now.

Amusingly enough, save for the two General Kings who now controlled her fate and her life, Linarite had not truly met many of her old comrades at all. Serandite, Obsidian, Scheelite, Wolframite...none of them seemed to be finding their way towards their old Captain, their old friend, but perhaps that was a blessing in disguise. There was absolutely no way for the permanent-Captain to know how they felt about her, how they saw her, how they regarded her desertion. Did they buy the line that she'd been stolen? Been brainwashed? Or had she, as a knight, managed to convince them that she had gone of her own free will. Out of cowardice, the fear of dying.

Many things were true but that Linarite was afraid of dying was perhaps not so very accurate any longer. Yet that did not make her eager for pain, eager to defend herself against all of her old comrades who were now more powerful, more solid than she was. So it was that the bluenette had kept to herself, pestering Zinkenite and training as Howlite ordered her to; reflexes and muscle memory were as quick and accurate as they had ever been. Linarite would survive.

Idling at the end of a patrol route that she knew was deep inside territory firmly held by the Negaverse, the blue-haired captain was singing quietly off-key along with the song currently pumping through her earbuds. She felt, more than sensed, the person coming up behind her. It was interesting what senses you developed when the one most essential, the one most important, was ******** beyond all compare. Lina still could not tell if it was friend or foe coming up behind her, so she simply had learned to listen for anyone that might come. It made her look a little paranoid, a little jumpy, but better that than looking a little dead. Her head swiveled around in the darkness, one earbud popping out with the motion, relief writ in her body at the uniform behind her.

"Oh. Good. You're one of..." Words trailed off, turning more fully to look at Moonstone behind her. "Moonie."

Had she known such things, this interaction would have happened much much sooner - but being omnipotent was not something she'd gained as part of the Negaverse, so wait she had. Nor did she know at which rank Linarite had returned to the Negaverse - Zinkenite had been so flustered when he'd told her and she so pleased to hear the news that neither had thought to mention or ask.

Moonstone's healed boots made soft crunching sounds as she strode along the patrol route; faintly the wind brought some out-of-tune sounds her way - was it Linarite? Was she singing? She felt the energy signature of a Negaverser but wasn't sure if it was the one she sought or another; until she came upon the bluenette fully she did not know.

Linarite looked relieved to see her; she had been singing and one of her earbuds hung limply from about her neck, the other taut from it's snug position in her ear due to the weight of the other. The dark-haired Captain smiled at the bluenette, eyes bright and expression openly happy. "I'm so glad you're back." Maybe some of the others would have criticized or attacked Lina for defecting, but Pandora felt that the White Moon had captured her and brainwashed her...turned her from her real family and place in the world. That she was back now told her she was correct; that was all she needed to know.

Tugging out the second headphone had Linarite moving to her feet in a movement that should have probably been just slightly ungainly yet wasn't, the blue-haired captain overlooked the other with approval in her eyes. "Finally a captain! I knew you had it in you Moonie." There wasn't really much comment about the fact that Lina herself was so very changed. Not only was she a captain herself once more but her uniform was as dark as midnight, the teal bits emphasized so that they were almost faintly glowing despite her powerless state.

Rising up on her toes before pounding back on her heels, rocking her body slightly in a rhythmic motion that made no sense as anything but a nervous habit, Lina smiled at the exclamation. "Really? There are so few that are. I haven't seen most of anyone I know and there are so many new kids on the block that are so far along. I met this guy, Benitoite? Had never heard of him before. Now he's a general. Reminds me of Zink though I guess that's a good thing." Something lurked in her eyes for a moment as she mentioned the stoic General King, coming down hard on her heels. "But then, I suppose it's a good thing to emulate a General King. My next trick is going to be crystallized next to Nea." It was a joke, meant to be humorous, but the tone just didn't ring there.

Lina was back alright but she wasn't the same. Something was...off. Yet her smile had not changed, it was as genuine as ever, and she was so happy to find someone happy to see her.

Moonstone grinned and pushed a lock of her braided hair behind her ear, Linarite's praise making her all but glow with pride. "Thanks to you. And General- I mean General-King Zinkenite even has me training some of the newer recruits. It's good to pass on what you taught me." Without Linarite's aid, Moonstone might never have realized her place, gotten as far as she had with realizing how to best be the Negaverse's Moonstone. At least, that was how she felt about the whole thing, so that was all that mattered.

"I don't believe that! You were so missed, Lina. Maybe the new soldiers don't understand but..." The dark-haired Captain trailed off, seeing the strange glint to her companion's eyes; the comment about being crystallized next to the former General-Queen/Beryl Host Nea didn't help with the rough emotions of the moment. Moonstone hoped Linarite meant it as a joke, but it didn't quite pass properly as one. Whatever had happened to the bluenette between now and the last time they'd spoken...it had definitely changed her. Drastically.

Maybe for the worse.

"Benitoite? Oh yeah...I haven't spent a lot of time with him - or some of the others..." She shrugged a little bit, eyes going downcast for a moment -- Linarite wasn't the only one that had some issues with all the newer soldiers having ranked up. Although Moonstone had made it to Captain, she still hadn't gone any further in rank...it was pitiful for someone so dedicated! Her secret shame.

"Your next trick is going to be sparring with me again! Or sharing that music you were singing to, it sounded interesting." The beautiful, genuine smile Lina gave her was met with one to match; if nothing else, Moonstone was happy to have her back! It was a start~
