Character History
Riiko Matsugane's story does not begin with her birth, but is simply noted as the moment in which the mantle of the nine-tails jinchuuriki was passed to her. As always, the ritual was held in complete secrecy, with the hope that only a select few would know of the girl who played host to a demon of legend. After the night of her birth in Iwagakure, Riiko was raised like any child in the village. She learned to grow, fight, and love alongside her childhood friends. Fights were won and lost, seasons came and went, life happened. Unfortunately, it happened a little too fast. On the eve of her 13th birthday, Riiko lost her grandfather, who was already well into his 100s. Before he passed, he revealed the presence of the bijuu within her, not to frighten her, but encourage her adaptation. He knew that if she was aware of the circumstances, Riiko would train her hardest to maintain the normalcy of her life. In his Will, Grandfather Miyai left the original Eight Swords of Sealing to his grandaughter, stating that when the time came, she would be able to use them and save both herself and her home.
Riiko's father is now overseeing her training with the Eight. It is the late fifteenth cycle of her birth, and Riiko is nearing the age of sixteen. A lot is expected of her, so the girl is pushing herself to the limit to become fully capable with the gifts her late grandfather bestowed upon her. To date, there have been no outbreaks of Jinchuuriki rampacy for the past 16 years...
