It took him two whole months, two whole damned months to finally get the prize he desired. The highly embellished turtle shell pouch designed by Seiki. Having gathered many items and meat for the lion, he felt a bit awkward having nothing to truly show for his effort except the pouch. Then again...

His grey eyes drifted over the pouch, designs were carved carefully on the shell and leather while beautiful rocks embellished it. There truly was something to show for it. Seiki had even thrown in some dried meat for him in order to have a safe journey back. This, this was well worth his trouble.

Smirking, the grey leopard slung his treasure onto his back and started off. His end destination being home after the long journey to get to the artisan. This would be perfect.

The usually were out here hunting, but they were still vikings and vikings brought back loot. They had been going crazy with not having anything to raid. Mostly because the main pride was still looting nearly everything in the area, and they had to be careful not to be found since they were exiles. Thus they came to the situation they were in now. The group had scattered, each with the knowledge that they had a day to spend finding something to raid and bring back what they would.

Right now shiny things were great, but more thralls was just as in demand since they used thralls to form the main part of the hunting parties and do the majority of the work. Stormborn or not, they did not want to have to keep working so hard when they could catch thralls to do it for them. Gabe's mission was like everyone else's, bring back loot in whatever form you felt like. The lioness was hoping for something that wasn't a thrall. When she spotted the leopard, she thought his little shell purse looked like good loot.

Gabe also made note of how healthy the leopard looked and debated taking him back. If he resisted, she might. If not, she would just take the thing on his back. She leaped out from behind the rock she had stopped behind and cut off the leopard's escape. "Hand over the shell." She could have just beaten him and taken it, but she liked giving him the option to just drop it and run. It was easier on him that way. Of course he likely would keep it and run, and then she'd just take him and it.

Emerce's grey eyes glared at the ground in from of him as his hackles raised. The rather muscular leopard was now being ordered to give up the prize he took so damned long to trade for? And for what? A female? Growling harshly, the noble leopard puffed himself up, snarling up at the lioness who obstructed his path to freedom. How dare she...

"And who gave you the right to order me around wench." Sizing her up for a moment, he spat on the ground in front of her. He wouldn't give up his prize, nor would he show any care for her pride or person if she was to treat him as she currently was.

No, if he had to, he would fight and probably flee. He earned his right to his purse and his pride. Nothing would take either away from him. "Well? What have you to say?

"The pride whose lands you pass through gave me the right, leopard." Gabriel made his species sound lower than dirt. In her pride, they were only good for thralls, as was anything not lion. Really, his arrogance actually earned him some points with the lioness, but she was not going to show it. She still was going to press the issue of the shell that the leopard had. She debated saying more to him, explaining to him how stupid it was to fight her over the shell, but really where was the fun of that?

Gabe wasn't sure why, but his arrogance made her want a fight out of him. The kind that she had had with her now thrall hyena. She turned that over in her head as she watched the leopard. If he fought, she should take him as a thrall on principle. Was that really what she was aiming for now? To bring back another thrall seemed an odd goal for her. The lioness had not really wanted the first one, so why bring back another? Then again, she had come to really like having her hyena thrall. But this one seemed like he would be more trouble than the hyena. There was just something about him.

Maybe the male leopard could keep her female hyena company, or give her someone to boss around. Gabriel thought that idea was quite amusing, since Tatit would certainly enjoy bossing another creature around. The lioness was becoming quite fond of her hyena thrall. She did not wait on the leopard's answer to her statement before taking a step forward, trying to intimidate the male. She stepped over the spot he had spit in. "Hand over the shell and you can leave."

Lopo took a long hard sniff at the air and ground. Neither had the stink of lion urine other than from the she-beast he was near. Sneering, Emerce eyed her up. "The only think reeking near me seems to be you. Perhaps you should learn to mark your territory." Grey eyes flashed dangerously at her. He'd been this way before, so how she was claiming those lands as her own he had no idea. What fool did she take him for?

"Secondly, I have been here before. So either your security is lax, or you are lying." He stared at her, claws sheathing then unsheathing as he bid his time. He did not move as she stepped forward, she might have been bigger, but he was agile and far more cunning than he let on. "Thirdly? That is absolutely not going to happen. I worked far too hard to lose this."

He was waiting for her to move, waiting to wear on her patience. It was then that he could get away, possibly leaving a decent mark on her body if need be. No one was allowed to treat him with such lack of respect.

"Such attitude from such a lowly creature. I am amazed you have survived traveling this way previously with that attitude. Perhaps I should teach you your place." Gabriel had her front claws out and had planted her back legs to launch at a moment's notice. The lioness really wanted to fight now. Oh she liked him quite a lot, but she she also wanted to beat the piss out of him. The question was would he take the challenge and would the fight end well.

Gabriel didn't really care if she won so long as the leopard fought her and gave her the work out she wanted. HE might feel differently on it, but she was just a fighter by nature. Her brother was always telling her that she needed to relax and learn to take it easy. Ha, this was her idea of relaxing and taking it easy, picking a fight.

Emerce snarled spitting words furiously back at the lioness, “Lowly creature?! You have no idea who I am nor my breeding!” Letting his tail whip about wildly, he could feel the end of his patience drawing near. The b***h wanted a fight and he was about ready to oblige, it had been awhile since he last used his claws. Huffing, Emerce stared down his nose at the lioness, sizing her ghoulish image.

“You don’t strike fear in me, but I will be taking my leave.” Stepping backward, Emerce allowed himself to seem cowardly. He was smaller than his opponent and so he needed her to strike first and allow him the upperpaw. Taking yet another step backward he baited her, knowing full well she would be coming for him soon enough.

Gabriel should have seen that the male was baiting her, and maybe she did deep down. The problem was, she reaaaaaally wanted this fight, so she did not pay attention enough. This was the kind of mistake she was always on her brother about making, and here she was, assuming the leopard was legitimately going to run. She SHOULD have let him run if he wanted. And yet, the way he was talking, she just couldn't bring herself to do so.

Gabriel lunged at the male and took a swipe at him, a grin on her muzzle now. Oh she was up for some fun and he was providing it. The problem here was that this kind of fun was dangerous, and she really could end up digging her own grave this way. As much as she grumped at her brother, maybe she should listen to him more. She didn't think so, but hey, even a genius can do stupid things.

Finally she took the bait and charged, rolling his eyes the grey leopard swiftly dodged the lioness’ claws and retaliated with his own attack directly on the head.

BAP BAP BAP BAP BAP BAP.

Emerce hit hard and fast, claws out to add additional sting as he cut open her flesh. Hopefully this encounter would make her think twice about greedily seeking items from others and even attacking them without care. Smacking her one more time for good measure, the former mountain leopard spat at the lioness before quickly taking his leave. Soffia would probably be worried at this point, the whiny little princess that she was… Gods what a day this was turning out to be.

Gabriel was stunned by the hits. The leopard was fast, sure. She knew that, but she had not planned for it like she should have. Oh she had messed this fight up by charging before she should have. The lioness went down and stayed there for a bit.

Gabriel did not come out of her shock until the leopard was already leaving, and she decided not to follow. He had certainly earned his leave. It was a good fight for him, just not so much for her. She did however burn off some of that restless energy she had building, so not all bad. She would have to head back to her party and then home.
