"You may call me Zasso, I am the senior jounin instructor here, as well as other duties assigned to me by the Clan Head. The clan head has changed since you have last visited, her name is Midori."
He looked at the boy as he addressed himself, realizing that he said he was an Uzumaki and he had been to the village previously. He decided to watch the boy more carefully from this point on.
"We were attacked by something several nights ago that brought sand and death with it. Before we had the time to even rally a defensive force the creature disappeared. Now what is your purpose here as an Uzumaki. There is no animosity between our villages true enough, but you are a long way from the islands."
The look in the elder shinobi's face was stern and serious. It wasn't that he did not trust the boy he simply knew next to nothing about him, and Zasso knew everyone in the village.

Drake was stunned. "So you can read my thoughts, huh?" he asked. He decided to reply his question "I had visited this village when I was travelling. Since I'm going home, I was travelling through the village. Then I noticed this. "
Drake could sense the elder's distrust. He knew he bore an unfamiliar name to the ninjas.
"I got this name from a man who was from another continent" he said. "I liked the sound of it." "My original name" he continued, "is Daichi."

"Name don't ring any bells but I tell you what chitlin, I'm old and while I know everyone here now, my memory ain't exactly a fresh set of calligraphy on a scroll anymore ya dig?
How about we compromise, before you head on out and I allow you to travel through the rest of our village would you do me a solid?"
A harmless grin of a wry old man looking to get a youngster to run an errand came about his features and his entire posture seemed to relax at once.
"Thing is, I got a few genin, oh some where over there. About an hour or so out, they were sent on a patrol. I am getting a bit worried about them and would check on them myself, but you see my back... Aaaagh!"
He bent over and suddenly feigned some great phantom agony, before turning to the bow with a look of hop and desperation. If this kid was utterly ambivalent or heartless he might be able to turn him down, but Zasso sensed a somewhat helpful and optimistic youth in Drake.
"Do you think you could do this for me Daichi,? If it isn't too much trouble that is..."

"Alright" he replied. "Although, you could ask in the future instead of blaming your back."
Drake walked away from the village, and walked towards the location where the other genins are located.
He was also curious about the other genin. He wondered what they would be like.
He walked wondering, if any of those whom he had met are safe in the village. Given the nature of his character, he knew well that the old man was manipulating him to do his bidding. He did not mind the thought much as he was rejuvenated by the thought his travels are beginning again, and that was an encouraging thought.
