_________APPEARANCE ▪▫ Aiden is a relatively normal looking young man. The only thing rather remarkable about him is his lankiness. Standing at six foot two, he only weighs one hundred and thirty five pounds. Because of this he tends to dress in clothing that looks huge on his skinny frame. Grey blue eyes and dark brown hair set off rather average features that aren’t particularly striking in any way.
_________PERSONALITY ▪▫ Aiden is incredibly shy in person. Since he was a child he has almost never been able to start a conversation with someone for the first time. If approached, he would attempt to be polite and keep a discussion going, but starting one seemed to take more nerve than he had. That said, he’s also the kind of person who forms very deep relationships with those close to him. When someone he cares for is hurt, physically or emotionally, he empathizes with them and will go to any lengths he can in order to help them out. Forming friendships is hard for him so he works extra hard to protect the ones that he has. Because of this he constantly works to be dependable, despite a tendency to be somewhat forgetful of small details. When truly angry he tend to keep to himself so that he doesn’t blow up at anyone. Finally, he has a tendency to be critical of people, himself more than anyone else.
_________BIOGRAPHY ▪▫ Aiden grew up as a “military brat”, constantly on the move as his father was reassigned and his mother was determined to keep the family as close as it could be. The only child, he was spoiled somewhat by his mother and grew up very close to her. This led to him being something of a mama’s boy and made him a bit reclusive. He didn’t ever really get to know any of the children at the various schools he was put into. When he was very young he tried a few times to meet people, but it always got too hard to say goodbye. So by the time he was thirteen he had more or less given up on meeting new people. His mother noticed the trend and grew rather worried about it. At first she tried to push him to meet new people, but after seeing how much it affected him after a new move, she started to think that perhaps forcing it wasn’t the best option. Instead he brought him home something rather different one day: a video game.

Back then there was no such thing as a VRMMORPG but the MMORPG world was alive and strong before the arrival of things like NerveGear and FullDrive. Aiden’s mother had heard that online you could meet a lot of kids and that some RPGs let kids open up their imagination a bit and interact with other people in a simulated world. It might not be the same as meeting real friends, but since people all over the world could log onto an mmorpg, Aiden might make some friends that he wouldn’t have to leave behind. When Aiden first got his hands on it he was a little skeptical but he ended up diving in rather quickly. MMORPGs were a chance to reinvent himself, he could be someone completely new. In a virtual world he didn’t have to be a mama’s boy who was constantly scared of losing the people that he had just reached out to. Instead he could be a hero, fighting alongside his comrades to defeat evil! Aiden ended up devoting a lot of time to online gaming. His happiness overall rose considerably and he actually made friends. His mother made sure that he didn’t neglect the real world ,that he always did his homework and ate—you know important things like that—but she was glad to see that he was truly happy.

Aiden formed his first guild with some online friends that he had been game hopping with when he was eighteen. Twilight Arbor was a Raid and PvE focused Guild that met with regularity to clear out big dungeons and race other Guilds to be the first to defeat in-game bosses. They actually grew rather famous on the server where they played and as long as he was online, Aiden felt like the hero that he made himself out to be. Logging off was always kind of sad at the end of the day. It wasn’t that he didn’t like his real life. His relationship with his mother was still good, they were still close. And he no longer blamed his father for his lack of friends or relationships. But it wasn’t nearly as glamorous as his online persona. Aiden Ramih’s life was nothing compared to Durga—conqueror of a hundred bosses, Guild Master of the Twilight Arbor. But it wouldn’t always be so glamorous. When he was twenty, his guild started to meet with some trouble. One of the high guild Officers, LordLoki, used his authority to take items and gold from the Guild Bank and transferred it to another guild that he had decided to start behind the backs of Aiden and some of the other Officers. But not all of the Officers, some of them were in on it and helped the split occur. To Aiden, who viewed LordLoki as one of his closest friends, it was a heartbreaking betrayal. Shortly afterwards Twilight Arbor dissolved entirely. For months, Aiden was depressed, he stopped playing games altogether. He had lost contact with most of the people whom he use to game with. But then one day he got an email from Ganesha, the second in command of Twilight Arbor and one of the few people whom he had ever actually seen a real life picture of. He also knew his name, James. James had stuck by him during the whole LordLoki break but they had fallen out of contact. In the email, James told him about a new game called Sword Art Online. It wasn’t out yet but he knew some people who he thought might be able to get him into the Beta. And if he could… he wanted Aiden to try it out with him. Aiden wrote back immediately, already feeling guilty about losing contact with James. Then, a few months later, just after his twenty-second birthday, he received the package from Argus. He could hardly wait to dive in and see James again after all this time. Both of them were using their old names once again, Durga and Ganesha, the common link was how they had met in the first place. It would be nice to play together again.
