General No HAD
Avoid perfect characters.
No children of Lord/Lady Holders. The ones that will exist are meta related.
While male Goldriders and female Bronzeriders are possible in theory, there has never been one in the history of Pern, nor is it even a guarantee that it will ever happen at Warden's.
On Pern's relative lack of redheads, blonds, blue-eyed characters and so forth: we really don't care. If every single PC is blond, we don't see how it's going to effect RP much. Please, don't worry about it, and don't take someone else to task for making a blond.
You must have permission for any art you use to represent your character. You must note you have said permission in your app.
The more information you give us to work with, the better we'll able to integrate your character into the plot.
Inhuman hair or eye colors on humans are not permitted. Or skin colors, or teeth colors for that matter.
Previous members of NightWatch or Warden's Weyr from the original site(s) are allowed one (1) carry over character of their choice. This does not affect their starter blue or green dragon or wher.
Keep in mind the timeline (150 years after thread) and the location (Pern's first prison open only five years) when creating characters. Starry-eyed 15-year-old harpers with thread score scars will be in short supply.
Your character does not have to be a certain sexuality in order to Impress a certain color. Also keep in mind that all sexualities and genders are welcome here. If someone has a transsexual character or a demi/asexual character, that is more than okay. This is a safe space and open forum.
If you create someone with a 'Craft, they can be any rank save for Weyr_____. Journeyman is the most common rank but apprentices and masters certainly aren't alone in their titles. Just keep ages in mind - it's very rare for someone to achieve Mastery before 30 and anything younger than 18 for Journeymanship is for the very intelligent and/or very dedicated. Now, if we get ten Master ___Crafters in the span of twelve hours, we may have to blink and let them duke it out themselves but, all in all, this is a prison full of criminals. People with experience are needed, just as apprentices are in order to keep things going once the Masters and Journeymen are gone.

Candidates Warden's Weyr does not search. Period. Do not say your character was searched and brought to Warden's Weyr.
Everyone in Warden's Weyr works either as a guard, or as support staff for the prison. Your 'candidate' must have an actual occupation.
Any non-prisoner at Warden's between the ages of fourteen and thirty-four is allowed to stand.
If you want 'search' in your story, please note that some candidates were transferred from various Weyrs to stand for the previous clutch. They were, however, required to agree to stay on at the Weyr and work, should they not impress.
Young people do exist at Warden's some guards brought their families. But they're less common as youths are usually sent off to the crafthalls in this timeline.

Prisoners Please consult the 'Pern's Laws' thread before creating a prisoner. Otherwise, you won't know what's considered a crime.
Please realize only those who've committed crimes listed under 'Non-violent offences' will be allowed to stand for the clutch. And even they will have to be on their very best behavior.
However, there will be an opportunity in the future for violent offenders to impress.
No dragonrider prisoners at this time.
Warden's Weyr does not yet accommodate child prisoners. They take violent criminals 15 and up and non-violent criminals 16 and up.
Be sure to detail what crimes your character committed, and why, in their history.
Prisoners are only permitted one firelizard, and that firelizard must be male.

Wherhandlers All Wher Handlers work as guards.
The majority of Wher Handlers transferred to Warden's did so voluntarily. Unlike dragonriders, they're welcome to relocate if they wish.

Dragonriders All dragonriders work as guards.
Most dragonriders who've been transferred to Warden's were transferred as a punishment. It's not considered a prime location.
Transferring 'out' of Warden's usually means striking it out on ones own. Other Weyrs generally don't take riders from Warden's in.
They work hard. It's a grueling life. Feel free to create a lazy rider, but realize that laziness will not be indulged.
There's only been one clutch at Warden's. The dragons are now seven months old. If you want to create a rider from that clutch please read up on our insta-weyrlings.
All members are allowed to start out with an adult chromatic (green, blue, brown) dragon or wher. While you will not have art for this character unless you win it in a contest, this does not impact your ability to RP them. If you want to make an adult chromatic, simply write the profile and post it.
Previous members of NightWatch or Warden's Weyr from the original site(s) are allowed one (1) carry over character of their choice (chromatics only) in additoin to their "starter" adult dragon or wher.
