Kurisu waited for an answer from his teacher, but was still shunned with silence. It wasn't anything new to the boy; he had dealt with silence for far too long; maybe that's why he wanted to talk to someone so badly? Kurisu was about to open his mouth again, but before he could he spotted a jaded mass growing along side Kiel.
The jade clone began to approach Kurisu held his ground. He was highly defensive at this point due to the fact he couldn't understand why he was being attacked. They were teacher, and student, weren't they suppose to be a team? Communicate? But no that didn't seem like the case as the clone threw a volley of shuriken in Kurisu's direction. Kurisu grabbed a handful of shuriken from his back holster in attempts of countering the crystal shuriken.
The projectiles deflected one another as the clone moved into close range combat, what would be considered Kurisu's specialty. "Sensei?!" But still, the boy was hesitant about attacking his new friend as he stayed exclusively defensive. As the clone came in with his sweeping kick, the boy quickly dodged with a back flip that move him just out of range. "That's..." The fight continued to progress as the clone stood up on the boys level, swinging its blade ferociously. Kurisu quickly rolled out to his left as he moved with the attack, and not against it. "Enough!" Kurisu's inner fire was burning hot as a blue fire engulfed his fists; running up his forearms. As the clone swung around, Kurisu drove his fist towards the clones ribcage.
Jutsu Description: By surrounding their fists with chakra, the user can temporarily increase their strength of their fists by 1 stat. Often used in tandem with the taijutsu style given. Lasts for 3 posts.
The boy had heart, he would give him that much. Even though the Jounin could see the confusion and ... was that pain? It didn't matter, the emotions that swirled behind the boy's green eyes, the kid didn't move out of the way of the onslaught. Instead he countered the projectiles with some of his own, then met with the clone head on. The boy was nimble and agile, that much was clear. He managed to avoid contact with the clone on both attempts. A slender brow arched as the boy yelled at him, telling him that was enough. Had a nerve finally been struck within the Genin? Was he now ready to fight? The blue aura engulfing his arm seemed to say so. Beneath his half mask, Kiel smirked, the punch landing solidly in the clone's ribs, lifting it slightly and sending spider cracks along its side and chest, small chunks of the crystal falling from its side.
Kiel was mildly impressed. The boy had delivered some power behind behind that punch, and from what he could tell, it was a Taijutsu technique. That was something that Kiel would admit, he was lacking in skill in. What was the Tsuchikage thinking? Pairing him with a Genin that used Taijutsu... Well, a fight was a fight none the less, and it wouldn't matter if you used Ninjutsu or Taijutsu, you had just as much chance of dying if you weren't prepared. Which would bring Kiel to his next lesson... Lesson two... Be ruthless... The clone recovered from the blow quickly, moving to slash its crystal made tanto blade across the boy's face and eyes.
The true Kiel shifted, reaching back into his pouch on his leg and pulling a small booklet out, along with a pencil. Flipping it open to a page that hadn't been worked on yet, he placed the pencil to paper, filling in letters and blanks of one of the crossword puzzles that filled the booklets pages. Ironic that he found he liked these after he lost his own voice... He mentally shrugged, glancing briefly to check on his Genin before returning to the word puzzle. There was a chance the boy wasn't going to like or trust him after this... But that was fine. Kiel was to be this child's protector and teacher, he didn't remember that they had to like him in order for him to do that.

Sorry about not posting yesterday... I had a headache and couldn't think.
Kurisu drove his fist deep into the rib cage of the the Jade Crystal Clone; harder than he had ever been driven to hit before. However, the boy would soon realize that the real world was a lot tougher than back at the academy as the clone recovered much faster than anticipated. So strong, even after a direct hit.... The clone quickly countered with a another swing of his jaded tanto; giving Kurisu only one solid option.
To fall back now may allow the jade clone to repair whatever damage I may have done... Kurisu pulled back the fist that had connected with the clone earlier; pulling it close to his body for blocking purposes. ...However, if I stay on the offensive, and inside the swing of his sword, I might still hold an advantage. The boys blocking hand moved to an inside blocking stance; connecting with the wrist wielding the tanto. The jagged buildup of crystal left the boys forearm sore, and scratched, but it would repel the lethal damage from the blade.
As for the boy's other hand, which once started as his defensive hand, continued the forward aggression as he sent another driving punch at the clone. His target was to his the same area on the ribs as before except this time he would deliver a different punch. His fist had the slightest static shake, hidden within the blue flames of his chalkra, just before the punch would reach its peak.

V. O. L. E. N. T. Kiel finished filling in the final few letters for the word, a twelve letter word that started with M, something that shares this trait wishes to do evil or harm to others. Malevolent... he looked up again at the Genin, his expression remaining impassive as he watched the little bout. The boy didn't seem to think that the clone would have been able to take that hit and still stand, and it showed in his eyes. It was a very different matter, the controlled spars in the Academy and training sessions that they put on for the Genin there, as opposed to what he would be faced with now. The Academy was worried about the students perfecting their technique, allowing them to work slowly and diligently, and if needed, they can stop and try again. Now though, if the boy faltered, he would lose... And Kiel planned on making his future losses seem all too life threatening. Now though, he would go easy on the child... It was their first day after all.
The clone was still in close to the boy, who had decided that, rather than moving out of the way, he would block the weapon, keeping himself too close for the blade to do actual harm to him. Taijutsu users... Kiel thought as he watched, his clone's attack rendered useless as the Genin brought his arm up, stopping it just short. This time the boy did not hesitate in his attack, he did not pause, but instead brought his fist around again, and Kiel closed his booklet, his hands coming together to form another quick set of hand signs as he knelt down, his hand coming to touch the ground as it finished his fingers lightly touching the soil as he channeled his Chakra through his hand. He waited as the punch connected once more at the same point, the crystal shattering as the punch connected, the clone's eyes never shifting as its color faded back to the light pink tinted jade color and it began to crumble in front of the boy.
He pressed his palm against the ground now, forcing the gathered Chakra into the ground. It raced forward as the crystal Clone began to fall apart, and a large crystal spike shot upward at a slight angle, it would pierce through the remainder of what had once been the clone and at the boy. The large spike would continue forward as if trying to stab into the boy before breaking apart and spreading as it continued forward, the end result looking like a large crystal thorn bush as it would chase after him if he moved, or stab into him if he didn't. Kiel wondered how the close ranged fighter would fair against this... I wonder... How is he going to close the distance to try to finish this... He smirked lightly under his half mask, I wonder if the Tsuchikage would be upset with me if I accidentally killed him... His head tilted slightly as he watched and waited.

Oh don't worry, the longest you might have to wait is a day or so. Any more than that and I will be sure to let you know before hand. Lol. I like to Rp too much to wait very long unless I have to.
The Iwa Academy stood as nothing more than a sheltered environment from a distant past compared to what was about to happen. Sure enough, with his secondary punch the clone disassembled into a handful of shattered bits. Maybe now his teacher would respect him enough to at least say something to him. But today that wouldn't be the case as Kiel pressed his hands to the ground; summoning a crystal thorn just before Kurisu. With minimal time to recover Kurisu was caught flat on his feet as he did everything within his power to avoid it. The spike scraped across the boys shoulder, taking a piece of his shirt on the ascent.
Kurisu padded his shoulder with his hand, checking to see if he was cut, as he kept his eyes locked on the spikes movements. It twisted, turned, and coiled violently towards Kurisu like a snake would move towards its prey. It certainly had the boy on the move to a point where all he could do was dodge. ...There's no stopping it directly! I have to take out it's source. Using his endurance to stay one step ahead of the crystal thorns Kurisu caught a glimpse of his teacher as he took a wide turn in his direction.
Like the sword, if I can draw in close enough for hand-to-hand, the thorns might become a liability for him as well...he thought as he dashed toward Kiel. It was funny how the innocence the academy taught about trust, honor, respect among squads had gone out the window in these times. As the boy starting closing the gap between Kiel and himself his feet began to project a feint blue flame. Despite Kurisu's fiery appearance, he had never felt so cold; but then again...nah, Kiel would find out eventually.

The boy again seemed surprised that the attacks had continued. Caught off guard almost it seemed, as the crystal made its way towards him. Kiel noted the hit to the shoulder as the boy moved to get out of the way of the oncoming crystal. I will have to make sure that's not deep... He mentally sighed. Yes, he would have to take care of this boy now... At least Kurisu seemed to catch on that this was not something he could simply talk his way through, and that he would need to actually get serious, or get hurt. Again, the boy showed how nimble and light on his feet he was as he moved back and away from the attack, keeping what seemed like a hair's breath in front of it. Maybe that was a bit too much... As he remained crouched, his fingers moved to trace in the dirt under him, his mismatched eyes watching the boy.
He then did something rather clever. With his style of fighting, Kurisu seemed at a disadvantage at longer ranges, so... He moved in closer. His gaze flickered to the boy's feet, watching the blue Chakra dance along as he ran forward at him. Would his next attack be a kick of some sort? Whatever the case, the boy seemed more determined now, more willing to finish out the fight, no matter who the aggressor was. Which was good, that was part of what Kiel had been wanting to see. He couldn't have his Genin hesitant and unsure of himself during a fight. He also couldn't let him be soft and kindhearted to his enemies. Which at the moment, Kiel was this boy's enemy. Or at least, he had been. The Jounin was satisfied for now with what he had seen, and he didn't want to injure the boy too badly. Which, even though Taijutsu was a weak point for him, if the boy got too close or too into the fight, might very well happen.
The Jounin would stand as the boy began to close the distance between the two, his hands coming together as he brushed the dirt from his fingers. Kiel had no intention of moving away from the other. He was fairly sure that he could stop Kurisu's attack, after all, what sort of a Jounin would he be if he couldn't... And once he got his hands on the boy, it would be done. He took a slight step forward, moving over what he had just scratched out in the dirt to where he was now standing in front of it. His expression had never changed once from that seemingly disinterested gaze since he had first met the boy, though now, even though he did not show it, the Genin had piqued his interest. The boy had promise, potential... And Kiel needed to find a way best to nurture it. He inwardly shuddered, I am not the nurturing type... He mentally sighed, Oh well, I have little choice as it is. I can at least teach him to not get killed. His head tilted slightly to the right as he watched and waited, letting the boy get close.
Kurisu made a straight route towards his attacker as he tried to plan out his next few steps. The boy was starting to feel his endurance wither with the progression of the battle. Sweat rolled from his brow as he locked his eyes on Kiel. The crystal thorns still tailed behind Kurisu, making sure that the boy wouldn't stop to second guess anything.
The boy ran as fast as his feet could carry him as he finally moved into range of hand-to-hand combat. With his hand cocked back, the boy drove his fiery fist forward with the same vibration as before. The punch targeted the central point of Kiel's chest; hoping that it would connect one way or another. In reality this would only be the setup for your standard "one-two" punch. For if the first punch connected it could leave Kiel off balance, which would allow Kurisu to follow through with an uppercut from the other fist.

Kiel watched... It seemed that was all he was ever doing; watching. That and waiting. Waiting for the right moment to move. His mismatched eyes watched as the boy came in, his crystal thorns moving along behind him. The Genin pulled his fist back, swinging it violently in at Kiel's chest... And then the Jounin vanished in a puff of smoke, the boy's fist now connected with a log. In a blur of movement, the real Kiel appeared behind the Genin, spinning as his foot came out to deliver a swift kick aimed at the back of the boy's head. Though Kiel wasn't exactly a Taijutsu master (honestly he had never really took much stock in training in it), he wasn't weak either. His thin and feminine body hid the fact that he was actually rather strong physically.
The crystal spikes that had followed the boy back and around were now behind Kiel. However they had stopped just short of piercing their creator, their growth seeming to have frozen, or perhaps it had reached its limit. Either way, the crystal had never been a worry for the Jounin, his own creations weren't made to harm him, and several years of intense training had made him immune to harm from his own crystal. What he had wrote in the dirt was now visible... If the boy had a chance to actually look at it. The letters were almost elegantly scrawled in the dirt. 'Good'. The single word was all that Kiel was going to give to the boy for now, and the child was rather lucky to even get that much of a compliment from the other. However Kurisu had worked for it, and Kiel was not without rewarding or complimenting others when they had earned something. True, they would be few and far between, but he knew that it was always better to give others something to work for, to look forward to receiving when they did a good job or completed a task, it made them want to work harder, and that would eventually become a second nature to them.

Explosive tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise. It's a basic ninjutsu even taught at the Academy, but it's a useful art that can be applied in variety of situations.
Kurisu drove his fist into Kiel's chest; hoping it would knock enough wind out of him so that he may have a reason not to talk to Kurisu. The punch seemed solid, however his teacher's body felt even more dense. Upon contact with Kiel his body vanished in a cloud of smoke; leaving nothing but a substitution log behind. Kurisu felt like a fool; falling for one of the most commonly used tricks in the shinobi world. But, then again this was why he was the student, and Kiel was the Sensei.
The substitution log blasted out the back of the cloud of smoke; splintered from Kurisu's punch. Upon realizing that this was just a substitution the boy knew it was almost likely that Kiel would reposition himself to engage from Kurisu's blindside. The boy turned to check only to find Kiel's rolling kick already in motion. His foot swept across the boys face as it sent him spiraling to the ground. Tired, and beaten, Kurisu slowly lifted back to his hands and knee's. His body swayed with each breath. "Why?" the boy asked in question, to tired, and to close to the ground to see the overall message Kiel had wrote. "Why won't you just...talk too me?" The boy asked in between breaths; he sounded awfully frustrated.
The kick landed solidly on his target, sending Kurisu sprawling to the ground. Kiel landed lightly, his feet barely making a sound as he touched first with his toes then slowly let the rest of his weight fall to his heels. He watched as the boy struggled to his hands and knees, panting and obviously getting worn out. He had done well, Kiel thought, had managed to avoid any serious injury and had taken a kick to the face with as much grace as one could expect. However, as the boy swayed, breathing hard, he asked a simple question. Why wouldn't he talk to him. Was that all the boy wanted? Was that why he had fought so hard? To try to get him to talk. Well, that would never happen, unfortunately. Now Kiel's expression did change, a soft scowl forming over his feminine face as he let out a silent sigh, shaking his head. He supposed the boy had earned the right to know that his sensei would never be able to say anything to him.
The Jounin moved, walking around to stop in front of Kurisu, his knees bending as he crouched down, elbows resting on his knees and hands left to hang between his legs as he looked at the boy. What a mess... Going through all of this to get me to say something to him. He should have been doing it to survive, to beat me, not just to get me to talk. The blond shook his head, his hand coming out to brush Kurisu's brown bangs from his face. He then brought his hand where the boy could see it, pointing it upward in a motion meaning for the other to look up at him. His other hand came up, pulling the blue and black scarf from his neck, then moving to pull the half mask away, revealing his face fully. If the boy had thought he looked feminine with the mask on, his soft features and slightly rounded face would only further prove that Kiel was almost anything but masculine. However that wasn't the point of this. What was, was what he did next. He pulled the top of his collar down to reveal his neck. His hand came to point at the long, jagged scar that ran from one side to the other, halfway circling his neck. The scar wouldn't have been as bad as it was, if he hadn't initially tried to claw his throat back open when he had learned of what had happened that day so many years ago.
His hand shifted now, index finger pressing into the dirt as he wrote two words; 'I can't'. He let out a soft exhale of air from his nose, almost like a sigh or a light huff, as he brought his hand back to rest against his leg. He wondered, how would the boy take this, knowing that he would never be able to say anything to him. Would it matter? It seemed like the boy had been set on hearing something from him, so perhaps it would. It would be a shame, if his first student shunned him for not being able to speak. The boy had sparked Kiel's interest, and he actually wanted to see what he could grow to become.
Kurisu heard nothing back from his teacher; it was always nothing. He was beginning to feel lower than ever before. However, he could hear the footsteps of his teacher as they came to a halt by his side. What was his teacher planning on doing to him now? Perhaps a little more hazing? He could feel Kiel's hand brush across his hair. Kurisu instinctively shuttered from the feel of his teachers hand touching his face. With the wall of trust breached between the two Kurisu was anticipating something along the lines of pain.
It took a couple seconds, but Kurisu finally turned his head in Kiel's direction; noticing his hands gesturing upward at his face. As Kurisu lifted his head he could see Kiel reveal his face, and the scar along his neck. It was fairly gruesome, especially for a kid. Kiel would be able to see it in the boys eyes as he felt a shade of terror. "Your....your neck! It's..." Kurisu didnt know what to say; he didnt really expect it. Kurisu sat up so that he was kneeling alongside his teacher as he wrote in the dirt. "So, you can't...speak."
Kurisu began to feel as low as he portrayed Kiel. He lowered his head in shame; unable to really look Kiel in the eye after this little incident. "I'm...I'm sorry. I...I didn't know." Kurisu began for starters. "This whole time, I thought you were neglecting me because I wasn't worth talking too...like I wasn't worth your respect." Kurisu felt really bad, this whole time the boy had seen Kiel as a bully when in reality his voice was taken away by the unjust hand of life.
He had noticed the shudder, something brought about by a feeling of what... Disgust for him? Hatred? Well, each one would be about right if he were in the boy's shoes. In all honesty, Kurisu probably handled the way he had treated him thus far better than Kiel himself would have if he had been the Genin faced with a Jounin like himself. Finally, when Kurisu did look up at him, his shock and terror was obvious when he saw his neck. It was the same way that most everyone looked when they first laid eyes on it, the one major mark to his otherwise near flawless skin, the scar that would always remind him of just how much his arrogance and pride had cost him. Every time he saw the scar, or someone else mentioned something of it, he was reminded, and the pain would resurface with each memory as if it had just happened. Though, through the years, he had learned to hide it, to mask how he felt around others, which was what he did now, as he waited and watched his newly appointed Genin for his reaction, his face seeming impassive, his eyes void of emotion.
The boy stuttered out an apology, to which Kiel simply shrugged at. Of course the boy didn't know. He doubted that even half of the Shinobi in the Village new the true reason why Kiel never spoke to them, why he was always so cold and distant. He figured most of them thought about him just as Kurisu did, that he thought they were below him, not worth the effort to speak to. As the boy lowered his head, Kiel allowed his expression to soften slightly, reaching out and lightly patting the Genin on the head in a brief show of comfort. There was no reason for him to feel sorry, no reason for him to apologize or to beat himself up about what he had done or thought. He took a breath, exhaling in a soft sigh as he brushed the word away, the little moment starting to be too much for him. He pulled the half mask back in place and fixed his scarf back around his neck, tugging it up slightly, now conscious of his throat since he had let someone see it. His hand again went to the dirt, scratching out a few words to ask the Genin. 'Hungry?' was the first one, then under it he wrote again, 'Treatment?'. He wasn't sure how badly the cut on Kurisu's shoulder was, or how bad the kick to the face had been for the boy, and it wouldn't do well for him to let his Genin suffer.
He looked up at Kurisu, pointing to the cut on his shoulder and tilting his head slightly, waiting for the boy's response. Kiel hoped that the boy's knowledge of why he didn't speak wouldn't make the boy start to pity him. That was all he needed, a Genin's pity... I will slap him if he starts that... end it before it starts. he thought as he stood, brushing his hands together to get the dirt from them.
Kurisu felt the patting touch of his sensei's hand across the boy's head. It had the feeling of reassurance, forgiveness, and modesty. The boy lifted his head as he looked up at his teacher. And slowly, the fear in his eyes melted away as Kurisu regained a look of trust in his Sensei. As much as the boy wanted to say thank you, he too would try and keep his words to a minimum out of respect for his teacher as he simply nodded with a smile.
Just before climbing back on his feet Kiel scribbled a few more words in the dirt; The first word being food. "Kinda." Kurisu responded. The boy hadn't eaten since sunrise and it was starting to take its toll. The next word he saw was treatment. Kurisu pondered a bit at the word, unsure as to what Kiel meant. The boy had nearly forgot about the cut on his shoulder until his teacher pointed it out. He reached his arm across his body as he gripped his shoulder. "Tssssssst," Kurisu hissed at the stinging feel of pressure over a sweaty cut. "Its just a scratch, really." he replied with his personal assumption.
Kurisu at last raised his head, and Kiel was glad to see that rather than a look of pity, the boy seemed to regain that same eager innocence that he had when he had first been assigned to him. At least Kiel hadn't broken that yet. The Genin seemed to understand what Kiel had meant by the brief contact, and the boy smiled, nodding at him in gratitude. In all honesty, this actually brought about a sadness to the Jounin, just because he couldn't talk, didn't mean that others shouldn't. Kurisu had seemed like the talkative type, and yet he said very little now. Kiel's eyes narrowed slightly for a half second before they returned to their normal impassive gaze at his student's lack of words. What the boy chooses to say or not say is up to him. What the ******** should I care if he decides to go on a vow of silence or not.
As Kurisu looked down at the words, or rather, Kiel's questions, the Jounin again couldn't help but scowl inwardly. How pitiful... Having to scratch brief questions in the dirt, or on paper to try to communicate... It's ******** pathetic and annoying as piss! The fingers of his left hand twitched, wanting to reach up to his throat, a notion he found himself doing more often than he would like when he was alone and something reminded him of his lack of speech. Kurisu's simple replies brought the blond back to the current, his gaze focusing back on the Genin as he replied. He was kind of hungry, and apparently had forgotten about the cut on his shoulder. Kiel wondered if that was a good thing or not... When the boy reach over and grabbed it, hissing in pain before saying it was just a scratch, the blond arched a slender eyebrow as if asking if he were sure. It would be too easy to patch it up or to take him to the medical nin to get it fixed properly. He had heard and seen others die from wounds that were 'just a scratch'. Then again though, there was normally poison of some sort involved in those incidents.
Kiel looked down at the pouch on his leg, his hand sliding into it to pull out a simple bandage pad. He wasn't a medical ninja, but he knew enough to at least carry a bandage or two with him in case of minor injuries. He tossed it to Kurisu before turning and starting to walk. This time though, he paused after a few steps and turned back to watch Kurisu, waiting on his Genin to follow with him before he would continue. If the boy said the wound was just a small cut, then he would let him bandage it before going back into town. Food was just as important as medical treatment to keep one's body going, even if the Jounin had neglected to eat since sometime last night... Or had it been before then? He honestly couldn't remember... But it made little difference, he wasn't worried for himself, but rather taking the responsibility to ensure that the one who's life had been intrusted to him was well and taken care of.
The boy noticed Kiel reach into another holster along his leg. His body grew a little tense, ...does he plan to keep fighting? He thought, remembering how the first assault commenced. Kiel pulled a long, stringy bandage from his holster as he lobbed it in Kurisu's direction. Using both hands to catch it, he took a moment to observe the bandage. It was like he had never seen anything like it, but in reality he never expected to see it from Kiel; kindness.
Not wanting to hold up his teacher, Kurisu swiftly pulled his arm from the sleeve of his s**t so that he could reach the wound inflicted. It was deeper than Kurisu portrayed as he tried to clean it off the best he could. Once the boy started paying attention to the cut was when the pain really became noticeable as he placed the gauze across the wound. It's sting was as sharp as needles pierce as he began to wrap his shoulder. The pressure of the banding didn't help much for comfort, but after the boy had finished the pain began to settle.
Kurisu quickly put his shirt back on, and returned to his feet. He rolled his shoulder forward a few times; testing the maneuverability of his arm with the bandages on. It's almost impossible to raise my arm over my head with these bandages on...I hope they heal soon. Wasting no more time, Kurisu jogged over to Kiel; who had seem to be waiting patiently for Kurisu to mend himself.
