Guardian Name: Cethin
Chosen Name: Leila Gwilym
Spooky Poem:

I walked along the crooked path
where silence reigned in every branch.

The shadows twisted
the stars hid
the creatures of the night refused to stir.

But I, in all my foolishness,
refused to accept what the trees spoke in their silence.

Go back
Before it is too late
Go back.

But human nature prevailed.

The glowing orbs, red as blood,
were the last I saw before the darkness swallowed me as well.

Aaaah, okay, thank you ALL for entering!! There was one entry that was a clear winner for us, taking this charming buck home! I'll post for certs for him and his siblings, in just a moment!

Guardian Name: Moirai
Chosen Name: Gabriel Blithe
Spooky Poem:
a creeping hand,
a crushing strength
to wander here
the calm forsake

no scream to hear
no air to breathe
a darkness, still
and death perceive
PostPosted: Thu Jan 03, 2013 4:27 pm

However, since so much effort was put into these entries, and since I'm, well, kinda loaded, I wanted to do something for some others that entered, so I contacted Chrystali & Phoenix Kiss and asked if I could buy up some semi-customs as some runner up prizes! They were down, so, the following people should PM me the information required for a semi-custom non-growing Guardian.

Quote:
You may pick one simple marking/marking location and up to three colors for a semi-custom (the color of the markings and eyes, if specified, count toward the limit)

If you'd rather a familiar for a Hedgewitch, instead of a Guardian, let me know that too, maybe I can work that out with the colorists, but I have to ask. (:

anemosagkelos
Guardian Name: Erebus
Chosen Name: Ridley Eloise Wescott
Spooky Poem: death comes eventually
that much is true
death comes to claim one
of what had been two

and there is mourning and grief
that much i admit
but who would i be
if alone i let you sit

my flesh will rot
in a grave so shallow
and my bones -- oh my bones
will remain to pull tug tow

crawling and reaching
grasping fingers rise
push through dirt
circle your wrist to claim my prize

we were friends my dear
it twines us together
a tight cord
invisible tether

and mere death shan't end that
i'll drag us ever further down
my friend -- mine -- by my side
forever and ever... don't frown, don't make a sound

it's time to go
down
down
down

tursi
Guardian Name: Enki (meaning lord of the underworld)
Chosen Name: Giselle Marion
Spooky Poem:

Let the cold curl
In smoky slivers
Around your legs
And pull you in.

Hollow howls and
Whispering whimpers
Come upon
A panicked mind

And it gasps
in fading night
You are mine...
You are mine.

musicaloner7
Guardian Name: Almote {death in arabic }
Chosen Name: Yusri
Spooky Poem:

Shredded, tattered flesh, torn for exposure, so tender and so rare
snapped, splintered bone, sprinkled and jutted without rhyme or reason
spilled, spoiled blood, marinating freely, clinging to its corpse
it stains the teeth and maw of its releaser

not a voice of reason, nor a whisper of opposition give way
the echo only of crunching, feasting, devouring without restraint
there is no mercy to be had, malice intent pure and devoted
somewhere there will be sorrow, but delayed and soon long forgotten
prevention is ones greatest ally, awareness in ones home

one beat stops to make the other continue, an endless tragedy
a balance that must go on again and again, a cycle no deities can stop
acrid eyes of vile yellow and eerie crimson pierce through the thickness of night
guarded safely under its cloak, where weaker are open game
there are no rules, the hunt never ceases
take a break and you shall most certainly be defeated
breathe once, but hold it fast, move fast but make not a stir
all are prey, and few are predator, with little to get in their way
cease and desist does not exist, and will pay you quite a fortune

it's only fair, it's just a game
you play it everyday
you have no horse to win this race, only fear to try and carry you away.

Honeybii
Guardian Name: Ouroboros
Meaning: The name of the serpentine tail eater who represents the eternal renewal from life to death and back again.
Chosen Name: Clarence St. James
Spooky Poem:

Woodlands dark and candle low
Listen as the harsh winds blow
Away the blooming of the light
Stealing color from your sight.

But remember when you used to know
The cold, cold kiss of winter’s snow.
Now beneath the stark black sky
You sit and let your body lie.

And, in addition, some super-duper runner up prizes, the following people have won simple Companion Pet semi-customs, to be colored by Chrystali or Phoenix Kiss! Please PM me the info and I'll pass it along to get you some awesome arts!

Please also tell me what sort of companion pet you'd like -- excluding fairy wrens, since those are event-specific. <3

endejester
Guardian Name: Hern
Chosen Name: Zachary Bantock
Spooky Poem:

Mother May I
the child cried
Confusion lingered
as he stepped inside
come closer now
called out the woman
within her home
The sun has gone to sleep
she said
come hear tell of dark instead.
and turning listless
in depth of dreams
the boy has come undone it seems
and from the chalice deep he drinks
a bitter brew for sleeping souls
all for the promice to make him whole
Mother may I the child cries
as she weaves for him a net of lies
where goes the sun
when hope is lost
it is not found
In mother's house.

Quiftan
Guardian Name: Grimvor
Chosen Name: Ezekiel Gilchrest
Spooky Poem:

Revealed to me from the candle's dim light
The motionless figure of a dying knight
A breath of frost dancing from broken white lips
A hollow gaze darker than an eternal eclipse

There are wolves, demons and shadows
Terrible beasts and dangerous foes
But this is a warning, my dear friend
There are more enemies than you comprehend

The deadliest fiend is the one you never suspect
And the one you're most likely to disrespect
You will never see him, only his disguise
Until you meet your grisly demise

There is a blade where there was once trust
The blood in my mouth tasted like bitter rust
The sting of the wound which killed me was mild
Compared to the pain of the friend who smiled

Your neighbors, your doctor, your father, your son
Not a single person is safe from the troubled one
Blood is his vice; he'll do anything for more
Take it from me, the corpse on the floor

kurotomato

Guardian Name: Hodeskalle
Chosen Name: Tobias Henshaw
Spooky Poem:

gasping, choking
the last of your breath
it calls to you

the air is lost;
what little is left dissolves
your grave is set

once
twice
thrice

you scream, but no one hears
your shrieks are hollow
like your body

bones snap
crack like dry twigs
turning to dust

breaking
crumbling
splintering

the blackness grips at you
with tar fingers
sliding up your skin
until it engulfs you

and you are gone
