I broke up with a girlfriend two years ago, after she cut off all communication with me and cheated on me with another guy. She's begun emailing me, PMing me on Facebook and Gaia, and won't take a hint. She wants me back, even after what she did, and even though I have a girlfriend now. I've explained things to her nicely, told her bluntly, and even just plain ignored her emails and defriended her on Gaia/Facebook. She still comes after me, but face to face now. She won't stop. Any ideas? Or should I continue ignoring her?

Get a restraining order? It sounds a bit like stalking.

I'm pretty sure you can, but it's kind of a long process. At least, it was for my friend. She had to get a restraining order for this girl who kept telling her that she was going to kill her...

Yikes, for your friend's sake I hope she never saw that girl again.

The school was smart enough to keep them from having classes together this year.

I agree, sounds like a restraining order is in order. Maybe this girl will eventually get that you have moved on, but for your own safety and sanity, be sure to keep her at a minimum distance of 30 feet. That is so strange for her to keep coming after you like that.

I would call her and tell her there's a chance and you'd like to discuss it with her in person, and to show up naked. When she comes out to your house, have a musical troupe jump out of the bushes and behind parked cars to do a song and dance that compares her v****a to one of those massive sink holes in guatamala.
Document the various new fungal species and bottom feeding organisms that have been discovered in her fetid v****a in the past year.
Moo.

I'd like to say that I've been in the same situation, but I'm sure there are many difference between them.
I'd personally say to just let her be. As long as you calmly explain your resolution and how you view the situation, making sure she doesn't overstep her boundaries.. she will eventually move on. She may do some of the weirdest things to try to get you back, or say things to get your attention, but these things will boil over with time. In these situations especially, you'll be waiting for quite some time.
... A restraining order may have been a bit too much. I wouldn't even know how you would go about doing that, but if you're already in the process, then there's not much to be done about that now... There will come a time when this situation will hit you square in the forehead. You'll have regrets whether you like it or not.

Any ideas? Or should I continue ignoring her? Wow....that girl is...seriously stupid. She thinks you'll forgive her after cutting off all communication and cheated behind your back? I think her brain migrated down to her boobs...seriously. She sounds like a total air-head who I would desperately want to smack.... But, other than that, taking her off your friends list from both sites won't do any good. Because she still knows you by heart, regardless of the settle hints you're giving her that you've moved on. Though I find it stupid that you've spoken to her about the whole situation, and she still isn't getting it processed in her pea-sized brain.
If you have her username on Gaia, add her to your ignore list. If she gets around it, report her. Facebook is another issue though... I say the best thing to do with that site with her is to just meet up with her in person, and tell her flat out bluntly, honestly (and somewhat harshly) that you're no longer interested in her, and that you have moved on and that you want nothing to do with her anymore.
I agree with the person above me....a restraining order just sounds a bit too much. I say instead of barging into court and asking for one to keep the girl away, why don't you do what I mentioned above? Just handle it maturely and gently, and she just may get off your back about it! smile Though I still feel bad you have to put up with a clingy air-head like her though...
