Opens December 18th, closes January 7th at 11:59pm EST.
Welcome to the TRHQ Winterfest writing contest! The best way to get into the proper spirit for the holidays is through songs and stories, and this will be no exception!
To enter, all you must do is pick any winter holiday song, story, or poem, and adapt it to TRHQ, Team Rocket, or Pokémon in general. One winner will be chosen based on how much we like the entry. The prize? One normal colored Legendary Pokémon! Since this is the season of giving, the Legendary will be winner's choice and will be completely free!
Interested? Good! Have some rules first: 1. One entry per person please! 2. For entries to count, you can't change just one or two words in the song/story/poem. You don't need to change everything about your chosen piece, but once finished it should look well adapted. 3. You're encouraged to post your entry in its final form - we tend to read entries as they're posted, and we may not notice if you altered something! If you do need to edit your entry, that's perfectly fine! We just ask that you make a note at the top of your post, preferably in a bright color, to let us know you edited your entry. It might also help to say what you added or altered, in the case of longer entries where we might not be able to tell right away. 4. The winner of this contest may not give the Legendary away. 5. Keep in mind that this is for a normal-colored Legendary, meaning the winner can't ask to change the colors or give it different markings. 6. The winner is encouraged to have a quick chat with the RP staff to ensure all Legendary rules and restrictions are understood before RP begins. 7. Be creative, and have fun!
Ready to enter? Simply copy the following form and post it with your entry in this thread:Title of original piece: (Whatever song/story/poem you chose, its title goes here) Link to original piece: (Similar to above, but a link to the original piece for our reference) Title of adapted piece: (This can be the same as the original, or as far from it as you like!) Adapted piece: (Your entry! Remember, be creative and have fun with it!) Winners: Kitomyx and Tori Honoo!

Title of original piece: The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire) Link to original piece: Song Link Title of adapted piece: The Rocket Song (Nyx Insists that Things Be Killed with Fire) Adapted piece: Nyx insists that things be killed with fire Frost's got people on their toes. Luke is so sure that Asch is a liar Izaya's dressed like Eskimos.
Everybody knows that 1337 likes to put on a show and that Hayes is really bright. Faleen working, her eyes all aglow, Will find it hard to sleep tonight.
They know that Deimos' on his way; He's thought up lots of plans and gadgets with Andre. And every Rocket grunt does their best to spy So no one else on their team has to go die.
And so I'm offering this simple phrase To Rockets one to ninety-two: Although it's been said many times, many ways, Do your job or you're through~

Title of original piece: Silver Bells Link to original piece: http://www.41051.com/xmaslyrics/silverbells.html Title of adapted piece: Poke bells Adapted piece: City sidewalks, busy side walks Dressed in pokemon style In the air There is a feeling Of Christmas Children laughing Trainers passing Meeting smile after smile And on every street corner you’ll hear
Poke bells, poke bells It’s Christmas time in the city Ching-a-ling, hear them sing Soon it will be Christmas day
Stings of Voltorb Even Litwicks Blink a bright spark and beam As the shoppers rush home With their treasures
Hear the Snorunt See the kids bunch This is Lapras’ big scene And above all this battle you’ll hear
Poke bells, poke bells It’s Christmas time in the city Ching-a-ling, hear them sing Soon it will be Christmas day

Title of original piece: Twas the Night Before Christmas Link to original piece: Here Title of adapted piece: Twas the Night Before Christmas Adapted piece:
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the poke`center Not a creature was stirring, not even a Scyther. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.
The trainers were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of pikachus danced in their heads. And Nurse Joy in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap, Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny Sawsbuck reindeer.
With a little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St Nick. More rapid than Spearows his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen! To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky. So up to the house-top the coursers they flew, With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof The prancing and pawing of each little hoof. As I drew in my head, and was turning around, Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot. A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back, And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.
His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry! His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth, And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath. He had a broad face and a little round belly, That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old Azelf, And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself! A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk. And laying his finger aside of his nose, And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight, "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

Title of original piece: (Whatever song/story/poem you chose, its title goes here) Link to original piece: Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Title of adapted piece: Tips for the Brand-New Trainer Adapted piece:
[Opening] You‘ve played Yellow and then Red and also played Blue... You've won battles and made friends and met Rockets, too... But do you recall… Oh, just how you started it all…?
The Good ol' Pokemon Professor~ Always has to know your name. And if you do not know it. You just cannot play the game.
Then they will always ask you… If you are a he or she~ When you complete your answer, You can begin your journey!
[Bridge?] It doesn’t matter that you’re only 10! You can still succeed! And if you just can’t catch them all, A few pokemon are guaranteed!
Like: Zubat, bidoof, Ratatta. Zigzagoon, and some Pidgey~ If you’re a mediocre trainer… THEY WILL BE YOUR DESTINY. *__*
((note: Italics are the younger trainer. The rest is for the experienced.))
