So, this may sound strange but I actually have a fairly decent idea. Well, seeing as how most of us (if not all of us) are writers, we should do something as a Guild. It hit me. Our Guild should release a compilation (whether we market it or hand it out is a group decision) of the various works, styles, and masterpieces of our Guild. If we can find a way to communicate among the Guild with ease, this can be obtainable. If we are able to do this, then our Guild will be put on the map. People can sign their individual works as well, but it will be put into one book/document. And if we don't set a deadline, the work can be a lot more smoothe and fluid for everyone. Now I don't know if this violates any rules, but I think it will be a fun experiment that can bring the Guild closer together, and make something beautiful in the process. I would really like feedback and ideas on this concept, it will only work if we all work as a whole.
Sincerely, Antonio

Im not sure I fully understand your idea, of course I am sick and barely coherent...
However we do have a guild story that only 2-3 people seem to be interested in.

*shrugs* It more so depends how much people are open with sharing their work on a larger scale. Creating a off-site web would be fun for this too.

Hmm, from what I understand, I agree that we should become more of a whole and work together to put this guild on the map and get the guild flowing a bit more. So what you're saying is that we should sort of advertise our work? Maybe we could start some sort of story project and then post it out into the collab works or promotions in the writer's section(or another section that would be better for it). From there we can continue posting different stories or just one big story then link it back to this guild. If people see that we are putting a lot of effort into some awesome stories then we might just get some more active members ^-^.
Edit: I also agree with KurayamiYoshido that maybe having an entirely different website to post our stuff could be cool too.

This is all nice, but at the core of it before we can have a website or anything like that, we need the ability to communicate with each other in real time as often as possible. And yes, I suppose we should "advertise" our work but I was thinking more along the lines of just distributing it among the masses, both on Gaia and off Gaia. Sure, a website would be cool. An example of that could be this, which is my own creation (http://thepoeticspew.blogspot.com/) or some other easy to use and access website/blog builder. I think what we should do before we think about getting so far ahead of ourselves is to see if we can work on something easier to put together and distribute, such as a solid PDF or similar widely-used format to just show what we can do. If we are successful at this endeavor we can branch out into something bigger such as one of those pages. I like the idea of a Writer's Guild in sync with one another as well. Maybe this compilation could be released parallel to the Guild Story that I've been hearing so much about, the story being for writers interested in longer tales and the compilation accommodating to those (similar to myself) work almost exclusively with poems and things more on the prose-side of the tracks.
First and foremost, we need to find some way to get all those that are interested in working on the project to be able to communicate in real-time, such as some sort of group messaging service. Does anyone have any ideas? Personally I have faith in Google Drive and some other smaller service such as Facebook being used side by side. I have had great luck with that in the past, and am actually using that for a completely unrelated project. I'm really open to ideas. Remember, the closer we get, the more we are willing to share as well. If we are able to put together a core group of writers, and really get to know each other, sharing work will not become an issue.

I like this idea, however we have so many members that are not active. Even with contests, Guild and Member created, activeness is down. I am not sure what else we can do besides removing the non active members and recruiting more active ones.
I don't know many instant messaging places besides Facebook and msn. However, I can rent a chat space for now.

Maybe we could do something sort of like the manga comics, just with writing. Is there anyway we could do something like that? I know it's right on the front page of the site and I'm always getting updates about them. I know I've been MIA from the site for a while, but I've been really busy and have made a goal to check more often...maybe as often as i check my facebook haha xd

Hmm... well we could always ask people to do Gaia related stories. That's just one idea. Like some kind of adventure your avi goes on in Gaia. Well I've got some stuff like this in my Journal, "Kiki Chronicles" if anyone wants to see what I mean, though they are only little avi comics. I guess it would be like Gaia fanfiction? Might be funny.
Or we could have active members that want to join in this post links to their various works and have everyone pick the work they like best from that person and then that one would be added to the compilation. Dunno where we'd post the compilation though... I guess in the prose/original works forum? Either that or a link to the site where it is put up in the advertising section of the art/writing forums.
This seems like a topic that requires a lot of thought.
