Appearance: Red skin and wings; eyes have black sclera and turqoise irises; hair is black shot with turquoise; just over taller than average, of medium build
Personality: Coatl is arrogant, confident, traditional, misogynistic, and unforgiving. He is also courageous, boisterous, and loyal. Whether you love him or hate him is largely dependent on whether he loves you or hates you.
History: Coatl was selected an adopted into a strange group. After the collapse and rebirth of civilization, some people looked forward and some people clung to the past. Other, crazier people went delving into the past and bring back practices others thought were long dead. One group in particular has revived the ancient cult of the Aztec gods.
When this group heard about metas, they decided it might be a way to help usher their gods back to earth, by raising semi-divine beings in their traditions. Coatl was officially adopted by some underlings in the cult, but the leader is his real father figure. Coatl views himself as a kind of as-yet-unripe god, and looks at other metas this way as well; some are worthy of their godhead. Some are not.
The cult follows many old beliefs, including the importance of blood and sacrifice.
Likes: Burritos. Sparring. Fighting. Winning. Hitting on girls and (feminine) boys. Being admired.
Dislikes: Don't get him started.

Bloodsports

When Coatl hits an opponent with a bare-skinned, blunt strike, he does damage and draws blood as if the opponent had been sliced or cut.
Worship
A conscientious man would be cautious how he dealt in blood
When blood appears on the battlefield, shed willingly by him or drawn from an opponent, Coatl takes the strength of that blood to himself.
Level Three: If at least a pint of blood is spilled on the battlefield, Coatl's strength increases twofold - to the point of a high school athlete.
Harvest
Blood is a juice of rarest quality.
Coatl can trade his blood for a boon in fortune, for himself or for someone else.
Take Prisoners
He who fights and runs away . . .
Coatl can cause his opponent to forget their reasons for fighting - at the price of suspending bloodsports, every time Coatl hits an opponent, that opponent will be over come with a reason not to fight back or forget on of their reasons for fighting.

Coatl can change his center of gravity and walk on any surface.
Summon Dark Artifact
Coatl can summons a special dark artifact - in his case, a macahuitl of obsidan and wood.

Family
Achcauhtli Born Salvatore, he took a Nahuatl name meaning "leader" when he joined the revival. Although he is not the man who adopted Xiucoatl, Achcauhtli is the man doing most of the fathering. He has risen to become the patriarch of the revival in the last few years, and he was behind the push to begin the search for new gods.
Amoxtli Patrick Gardener was hand selected by Salvatore to be the cover - he is Xiucoatl's official adopted father. His name, given to him by the leaders, means "shelter."
Patli Georgette Gardener is a nurse. When she and her husband joined, she took a name meaning "medicine." She serves as Xiucoatl's adoptive mother.
Zolin Achcauhtli's woman. Her name was Maria; her new name means Quail; there is some kind of joke there, according to Achcauhtli.
Nochtli The "prickly pear cactus" is Achcauhtli's man. He and Zolin do not get along very well.
Cipactli "Crocodile" is the guard dog.
