Ionan often had trouble sleeping, which may have seemed ironic, due to his well known fear of the dark. Even the brightest glows could not light up the night like the sun lit up the sky during the day. Why couldn't the sun be out all the time? Did it need to sleep too? Did that mean the rider in the moon went to sleep during the day? The blonde six turn old headed to the nearest Weyr, not taking into account that the rider there may not have wanted a boy of so few turns visiting so late at night.
Ionan probably wouldn't have cared if the rider within had minded. He was cold, it was dark, and sleep caused nightmares. It wasn't fair. Not fair! Why couldn't he have stayed small and able to sleep in 'Noa's arms? And so he did the next best thing. He slipped his small body on top of G'deon's bedfurs and curled up.
This rider wouldn't mind sharing his bed, would he?

The warmth of someone crawling into his bed wasn't something that G'deon was unused to, in fact it was one of those things that happened often enough that he didn't really wake up. Instead he reached out toward the warmth, wrapped his arms around Ionan, and pulled him close... it was then that he seemed to realize something was up, this person was a lot smaller then he was used to. Slowly the greenrider's eyes opened up and he blinked a few times, "Hrm?" Shifting his hands he was able to tell that the one in his arms wasn't one of his 'friends' and instead someone a whole lot smaller then them, a child, and one that looked a touch familiar to him though his sleepy mind wasn't quite wrapping itself around who this was or where he'd seen him before, at least not yet that was. He was sure that, with enough awake time that it would probably come to him.
Giving a yawn he commented, "You are a lot smaller then the guys that normally wind up in bed with me." He said, giving a bit of a chuckle at that, certain that the kid would have no idea what he was talking about. Letting his eyes close again he said, "So, little invader, do you have a name?" He wondered who it was that was crawling into his bed and why. Most likely he was lost, probably thinking that he was crawling into his parent's bed or that or a friend. Surely he didn't just do it at random? Surely not, though G'deon wouldn't of minded were the boy about ten years older then he currently was, such a shame, "Ah well, I am sure we can find whoever you belong to in the morning." He didn't feel like getting up. That meant finding more to wear then his baggy sleep pants as well as getting out from under the covers, neither of which sounded all that appealing to him at the present.

Ionan looked up, blinking. "Oh," he muttered sleepily. He hadn't thought about introducing himself. "I'm Ionan. I'm going to sleep here tonight." He made this clear by moving so he was under G'deon's bedfurs. "I had a bad dream," he explained, yawning. "About silver stuff falling from the skies and dragons screaming and they disappeared. They didn't come back." Ionan wasn't quite old enough to know what Thread was like--he hadn't yet been born when the first fall had occured. He knew a bit from stories he'd heard from other riders. That it hurt people. It made them go between.
The boy shivered at the description, wrapping his arms around G'deon. "I don't want that happening to my sissy. Or you! Or anyone!" The boy sniffled, tightening his hold on the man. "I'm scared," he said. "Let me sleep here, please?"

G'deon turned to look at the boy that was curled up to him, then gave him the best smile that he could muster given the subject that the boy had brought up, "It will be alright, I promise. I am right here and nothing bad will get to you because of that." He said, hugging Ionan close for a hug with one hand, the other going to his own throat to touch where the top of his long scar started, the same scar that went all the way down to his hip. No reason to worry the boy with how dangerous thread could be and how it could scar those that it didn't cause to go between both mentally and physically. No, the kid seemed young, too young, and as such he wouldn't let him in on any of the bad stuff.
"You just stay here and rest, there is nothing to worry about when I am nearby." He told him, giving him a smile, "You should feel honored, normally you have to be at least ten years older then you are now before you are allowed in my bed." He said jokingly before he pulled the blankets more firmly around the two of them so that they could stay nice and warm under them. He found himself wondering if this wandering into other people's beds was a trait of this boy, his parents really should keep a better eye on him he thought to himself idly before allowing his eyes to sink shut once more. Ah well, maybe it would be trait he'd retain and would end up crawling in his bed with him some ten years from now, that would be more then nice. His finally thought before he was once more snoozing.
