◉◉◉◉Prompt ◉◉Holiday Events 2k12: FS Prompt Entry
After getting settled back into his mother's house, Sono had taken to wandering around the grounds most of the time. Even if it was just Silas living in the house, things had a tendency of getting much too noisy for Sono to handle... and he was sound based Meta!
This time he found himself wandering around the front walls, somewhat intrigued by the flowers that grew there. He didn't really recall seeing them growing anywhere outside of the academy walls. His thoughts were interrupted when a small pebble hit him on the head. Confused, he looked up, since that's where it had come from... and laid eyes on a kid.
"What'cha doin'?" The kid in question shifted a little, grinning down at him.
"I WAS observing the plants. How did you get up there?" Sono looked around, seeing no easy way to get up the wall.
"Magic!" The kid giggled and waved his hands as if he were a magician. He then pushed himself up, and hopped off of the wall without a second thought. His wings fluttered mostly uselessly, but enough to slow his descent enough that he only flopped to the side upon impact instead of breaking something. That of course didn't stop Sono from having a mild freak out.
"Are you trying to break a leg?! That was reckless." He shuffled a little closer to the boy, who by that time had rolled over onto his back.
"I s'pose, but it was fun! I'm Quin, what's your name? You look older than the other kids, did your parents bring you back too? What'd you do? Mine got all upset I got a cookie instead of the item they had planned for me. Been here for a couple'a weeks, you must be new." He chattered without much need for breath, which didn't seem all that new to Sono... he was used to chatterboxes... especially having been one himself when he was younger.
"Insonorise. Sono. And no, I'm not new, I'm an adult." He sighed and sat down, "they ship you off to live in the dorms or did they just return you?"
"Returned me, they're dumb, they're totally missing out." Quin flipped over onto his stomach and propped his head in the palms of his hands. "Oh hey Miss Nova found me again, gotta go!" He giggled, pushed himself up, and took off running.
Sono glanced over his shoulder, seeing Nova trying, and failing, to catch up to Quin. Eventually she gave up and came to sit next to him, out of breath. "That Quin... such an energetic kid. Haven't gotten him to make any friends yet, though." She sighed and shook her head, then smiled.
Sono looked down the hill where Quin had taken to entertaining himself with some butterflies, and then looked back to Nova. "I wouldn't make many friends either if I thought I was going to get adopted any day and have to leave campus." He shrugged.
"Sono, we both know there aren't many trustworthy parents looking to adopt kids these days. He's not going to be leaving anytime soon, I think it would be in his best interest if someone near by adopted him." She shook her head, and then nudged him with her elbow.
"You said you only wanted me to look after one kid. I came back to be a teacher." He puffed up his cheeks and folded his arms across his chest.
"I'm only suggesting!" She giggled, patted his shoulder and then got up to head back to her office.
Sono sat there for awhile longer, long enough for Quin to wander back over. The child plopped down next to him. "What'd she tell you?" Despite all of the energy from before, he seemed much more toned down.
"Nothing terribly important." Sono shrugged, glancing down at the boy.
"So... you're a grown up, right?" Quin rocked side to side lightly, displaying what Sono thought to be mild nervousness.
"Yeah, I'm a grown up." Sono nodded.
"Can I live with you?" Quin immediately put up the best puppy-eyed expression he could muster. Sono stared at him for a good two minutes before sighing and flopping back, though not before adjusting his wings. He just couldn't turn down a kid with that face. Plus he seemed pretty okay... Nicer than most of the kids he'd run into so far, anyway.
"Okay, okay. Only if it gets approved, I might be taking in another kid too, so you wouldn't be an only child." He stared up at Quin, doing his best reluctant face. A grin spread across Quin's face, and he flopped over on top of Sono to give him a half-assed bear hug.
"I don't care! I just don't want to leave here! And you're one of us so I KNOW you won't leave me!"

◉◉◉◉Big Family ◉◉Child: Diary
Dear Diary,
today I met the rest of my family! Its really huge. Like, woah. Okay I didn't meet all of them because some of them are out in the world doing things but I met a lot of them!!
My new grandma is really weird. She pinched my cheeks and it was strange. But she's cool!
And my new Uncle Silas said he would teach me how to paint if I wanted! And he has a friend that knows how to dance! I love dancing.
My other Uncle, Deskri, is... I don't know if I like him very much. : ( Sono said he's always sour and mean and not to take in personally but still... At least my cousins are cool! Altair seems great, and Kindle too. She talks funny but I think its cute. Hehe. I guess I have two more cousins and another uncle that are out and about, but grandma said they might come back to visit soon. I'm excited!
I think I'm gonna ask Sono what's for dinner!

◉◉◉◉So Much for THAT ◉◉Child: Diary
Dear Diary,
Sono was gonna take me into town to get some baking supplies because I used all of the stuff we had on making Christmas cookies, but then the Elders sent us a letter saying there was a serial killer or something in the town? Now he won't let me go off campus. : ( How lame! But... its still kind of scary... what if the serial killer wanted to kill us Metas???
I'm kind of glad Sono won't let me go. I guess it means he cares about me a lot, right? I hope that's what it means. ( :
