Was Melvin accident prone? Leon thought he was. the fall, melvin's fault.
the separation trap? Probably Melvin's fault.
the trap and loss of glasses? Melvin's fault.
He just didn't have to heart to leave the guy behind. there had to be a rope or vine around here, and he was going to make it his mission to find it.
Possibly get the life trainee to invest in some contacts too.

The pathway was rough, and light was dim, but the overgrowth of seaweed and vines around the formerly half submerged labyrinth walls made for a decent makeshift rope.

Melvin was hit with a vine to the head. Rubbing it, he looked up before taking the rope and tried to tug himself up.
He was dragged up and crawled out, looking tired and worn and wet. "This place sucks."

Melvin breathed deep, rising up and trying not to wince at a odd pain in his leg. Damn traps. Now he couldn't see a thing. His goggles were all dirty now.
Putting them away, he moved forward.

"Told you.," leon was still in awe of the main room, the inner sanctum as breathtaking as it was before, with so much to see and and many items to touch, many of the pedestals were bare, but a few still held a relic on it.
They were tempting to touch.
"We can't take long in here, grab something and get out before the place tried to kill us again." he warned, snatching up the nearest item from the first empty pedestal and getting the heck out of dodge.
The pendants were working overtime today. The sundial and the scoll were all his. It was a fine haul.

Melvin smiled before moving over to the pedestals. "Don't need to be told twice. Last ones I was in started to fall on me."
Looking at the items, he noticed a vibrant scarf and took that before he grabbed his pendant. "Let's go." And with that he and Leon left.
