My novel is based off of the events in the Skyrim video game.

Prologue

Arrow awoke to the familiar sounds of the town's blacksmith hammering away at a new piece, most likely a sword for the Imperials. He lives in the city of Whiterun, in the province of Skyrim.
He grew up in his homeland of Valenwood with his family. When the Aldmeri Dominion invaded, everything changed. Arrow escaped, leaving his family behind. He traveled through the deserts of Elsweyr, barely surviving. Through the hills and mountains of Cyrodiil and finally ending up in Skyrim. He innate skills with a bow helped him hunt to survive. He owned a room in the Battered Mare Inn, in Whiterun. He payed 25 gold a month( The bar girl, Melina, was sweet on him). He earned his wage doing the same thing everyday. Eat breakfast, practice archery(and win bets), eat lunch, help the blacksmith, eat dinner, and occasionally spend time with Melina.
On this day however, his schedule would change.

Hm... Why would you spend the time and money to get permission to publish copyrighted material when you could reach readers instantly for free at fanfiction.net? I've got a Skyrim fanfic there, myself!

Your tense is inconsistent (awoke=past; lives=present); the name of the inn is The Bannered Mare, not Battered Mare; and 25 gold per month rent seems awfully cheap, even if an employee at the bar is a friend.

I like your character's name; it's symbolic as well as just plain catchy. And since I'm not terribly familiar with the Bosmer race, as long as you rely on the facts then this could be as informative as interesting! Keep it up.
