Also, remember to get all Daily Chances every day. Also Dumpster Dive [under the "Games" tab at the top]. You might get a really good item you can sell!
It's always good to have a goal. Try making a quest thread to keep track. If you're working toward an item, it will motivate you. We have a subforum in the guild just for quests. [Make sure you check out the subforum rules! For example, you have to include a list of donators (or a spot for them, even if you don't have any yet) and show how much gold you currently have.]
I also "buy low, sell high" in the marketplace sometimes, but I am not as talented as other Gaians. I have a ton of items, and once they're worth more than when I bought them for, I sell them to make extra gold.
