First off before you start drawing a manga you need to be able to draw hands (I am assuming that you can't because I didn't see any) readers will notice if you go out of your way to hide hands.. I know it's hard to draw good hands biggrin so good luck with that Second off i think that you have too many cutesy characters and not enough like solid characters.. if that makes sense? Lindsay is the closest to what I am talking about, but again she's hyper which takes on a more cutesy character.. a good anime I would suggest you looking at for character ideas would be School Rumble because it covers all the basic anime character types smile The cool character the smart guy the perv the cute/stupid character the bad boy the strong person etc smile hope this helps

l_Crona_l So should i add another character kinda like harima in the bad boy category? Yea that would help a lot smile and perhaps make one of the women a more stronger character rather than having them all like the cutesy type smile What kinda manga are you planning? Something like FLCL - all the sexual things and more girly?

I think instead of starting off making the characters that you should have the soild story line because even though your drawings are cute that doesnt necessarily mean that itll be good also make sure you draw different angles and their full body to make sure you have a good idea of what you want your character to be

My advice for you if you're doing a comedy is to just go with it. I've done some manga/comics (all incomplete lol) in the past and I would just take it one page at a time (probably not the best idea for a serious story) if you're going for a pure comedy then I think it's fine that non of your characters have in depth and detailed stories, in comedies, what makes it funny is how the characters clash together and how crazy they all become when together, it's the crazy things that happen and what they go through that makes it really funny in my opinion. But if you want to make it a bit serious with some comedy (like maybe a romantic comedy) then it is necessary to add more to the characters, your characters seem very lovable and exciting, but they need a bit more too them. If your going to go with an actually story line then there has to be quirks in the characters that conflict with each other. I personally don't think adding a bad boy into the mix is going to make much of a difference, in School Rumble, it isn't the fact that Harima is a bad boy that makes his character in depth, it's the fact that he's in love with such a stupid and goofy girl like Tenma. His delusions and extreme ways are what makes Harima seem like a real character, not his delinquent ways. Other than that, I have only the worry that all your characters look a little alike. I have watched plenty of animes and mangas that showed the heroine and then her twin of a friend with shorter hair, distinguishing features (like Tenma's short ponytails or sailor moon's complicated circle pony tail thingies) that separate each character from each other. (BTW, I love ur art style, super cute).
