I think the title should show that there are obvious spoilers in this. If you haven't played the third one; don't read this.
Are there any characters who died in ME3 which you thought should have lived?
For me: Mordin. He was my favourite. He had everything. He made me crack up, he had this weird little sense of humour, he was smart, cynical - without being depressing - he was badass at fighting, and he could surprise you (singing thing took me totally off guard).
My first thought was: Why not Jack? That self-indulgent emo was far more annoying and insufferable.

Kal'Reegar. It didn't help that you just get an email saying "Btw he's dead" after how awesome he proved to be in ME2.
It was definitely Thane for me, with Mordin as a close second! Although I also didn't appreciate how they barely even glanced over Kal'Reegar and merely sent an e-mail to Shepard's terminal and never mentioned it again, pretty much. :/

ALL MY FEELS. crying
This, seriously!
I was livid when his death was pretty much hand waved.
Mordin I could forgive, it made some narrative sense but we didn't even get to see our awesome marine again.
Legion bugged me, there was no reason for him to 'disperse' himself like that other then as a reference to the last episode of Transformers Animated
where Prowl disperses his own energy to recreate the All Spark
.
Should've made a backup of Legion somewhere on a hard drive. Also I say Shepard should have lived. People owe me drinks!
Also this one character
Captain Anderson. Is there a way to prevent his death? I couldn't do it

I didn't care so much about Shep dying, called it early on BUT the way it was done was shoddy.
Bioshock 2 spoiler! -
I would have preferred something more like the end of Bioshock 2 where all my choices mattered and led to either a warm fuzzy feeling or an oh s**t what have I done feeling!

True, Shepards death did feel kind of bland like a "just make a choice and get it over with" sort of ending.
