Alicia is a classic example of a user with a strong water affinity. She is able to manipulate liquids with her mind alone provided the main constituent is water. Admittedly Alicia commonly uses gestures to help direct liquid as it substantially increases the precision of her manipulation, but that is mostly because corresponding movement helps clarify her mental focus. The volume of water Alicia can have control over ranges slightly depending on her energy levels and concentration, but she can roughly control an amount equal to her body size. Alicia has no influence over liquid within living organisms and liquids sealed within vessels are far more difficult for her to manipulate.
Appearance:
Alicia's most notable feature is her long auburn hair. She is deeply fond of it and would describe it as her best feature without a shadow of a doubt. Because of the beautiful natural wave it has even when she takes no effort to look after it or style it in any special way it has a habit of looking coiffed to perfection. Thus when Alicia does apply some effort, pinning it into stylish up-dos, she transforms herself into a flame haired Boudicca with the fiery personality to match. Figure wise Alicia is and average height for a woman of her age and is plump. She has an enviable bust and as she carries most of her weight on her hips she is pleasantly curvy - the kind of girl that guys would claim to be balancing perfectly between on the line between skinny and overweight. (Of course if she ever caught a man objectifying her in this manner she'd tear into him with no remorse.) In general she's quite a confident girl and although she doesn't channel masses of time and energy into her wardrobe she does like to dress nicely and in a way that flatters her figure. Alicia is not without her body hangups though. Alongside her hair comes her fair skin and heavy smattering of freckles: both of which are traits that she dislikes. Furthermore, her nails are bitten and short: a bad habit that she has always had and has always been trying unsuccessfully to give up.

Alicia would always surprise me with her views on books - yet she always argued her points very convincingly. She's just so passionate about everything she reads; every book she consumed clearly affected her too. When we were reading a comedy she was the brightest and chirpiest girl in the class, yet whilst grappling with tragedy she would be far more reserved and contemplative. That's not to say she's completely defined by her taste in books, I wouldn't dare reduce her to that - she has a distinctly fiery personality of her own! She's a good girl is Alicia, a great student and I'm sure now that she's got a great career ahead of her as a scholar.”

“I always found Alicia a little intimidating if I'm honest... I mean, she was really clever and always tried really hard in class but she wasn't one of those kids who just sits in the library with their nose in a book all day. She was popular, loud, funny, confident. She was a right laugh most of the time. But she always said what she thought. She had that kinda attitude where if you disagreed with her she'd think you're wrong regardless of what you said. I mean a couple of times she outright told our teachers that they were wrong... It was kinda awkward and when they put her in her place you should've seen the evil look on her face! Ha! We weren't friends - but it wasn't like either of us hated each other either. We barely spoke, I sat one one side of the class and she was on the other... I keep to myself. Nobody really disliked her - I guess I'm painting a kinda mean picture of her.. She was just loud and a big personality - and that's not to everyone's tastes. She wasn't a b***h by any means, but sometimes she did just rub people up the wrong way, if you get what I mean?”

“Of course Alicia is perfect in my eyes, I wouldn't change a thing about her. I would be a bad mother if I did! She makes me ever so proud with her hard working attitude. If her father were here he'd be proud. I try to tell her that all the time. One thing that does make me smile is her habit of seeming like such a selfless helper. So many times I have seen her offer her assistance to somebody in need - throwing herself into whatever task needs doing. But bless her heart, she's not as selfless as she'd like people to think. Her aiding of others tends to be because she'll get something out of it too... Whether that be indulging in knowing that they couldn't have done it without her or a favour later on down the road. It's a good trait to have, being helpful that is, but it can't always be to your benefit. If she really was as generous with her help as many people believe then she would have offered to help her poor ol' mum with the housework whilst growing up! I can't complain though - she looks after me well enough now and I love her regardless.”

“Oh gods, how to begin? Well... Alicia was one of my best friends in the academy. We got along soooo well - we did everything together. We shared a room, were in most of the same classes, hung out, had the same friends. We had such a good time! She's got quite a magnetic personality despite being a little abrasive at times: you either love her or you hate her, but most people love her. I think actually it was mainly her influence that kept our friendship group together during those years. When we had our little arguments she would always be the one in the middle telling it how it was and never herself in petty squabbles. It's actually a little strange that since graduating we haven't really met up. Me and the other girls see each other all the time, but Alicia has been keeping to herself. She's probably busy working. It's hardly surprising though - she absolutely lives for the moment and is so driven. When we were at school she would put herself one hundred percent into her studies whilst the rest of us were goofing off talking about guys or something. That's probably why she got a guardian before the rest of us! Haha! I guess because she's always so dedicated to her work she puts social commitments on the backburner.. I can't count the amount of times she has unintentionally not shown up on me and the girls. Despite her flaws we all love her though - here's to hoping we get to see each other soon.”

With an affinity with the space element Ladon has the ability to phase in and out of tangibility. Whilst intangible objects move through him as easily as though he were air - although for magic users moving through him produces a clammy cold sensation on their skin. His magic has many useful applications and Ladon could be of great use to society if he applied his skill sensibly, however more often than not he plays around - sinking into the ground and 'swimming' around, popping his head back up occasionally to catch his breath and see where he has got to. Extended use of his magic wears him out quite quickly however, so when trying to get somewhere he'll often tire himself out by playfully swimming half the way and then tailing behind Alicia or having to be awkwardly carried the remainder of the way. If he materialises in solid objects significant damage can be done to both Ladon and whatever he is in (fluid and gas are displaces easily when he re-phases so it's not an issue). It is absolutely impossible for Ladon to re-materialise inside of living materials.
Essence/Animal: Cattail / Amazonian Otter.
Appearance:
① Markings roughly like this but with cattail fluff where the white is.
② Long leafy hair, tied back, with cattail 'heads' at the end. Looking almost like this style of dreadlocks.
③ Really youthful looking.
Up to the artist's discretion whether or not to do any of these things. If you think something else would look better then please do so.
Personality:
Although all guardians can be considered to be like children when they first emerge from the tree or forge, due to their general lack of life experiences, Ladon literally is like a child. Rambunctious, playful, naughty, immature, curious, mischievous, cute - all of these words effectively sum up the otter guardian. There's not really a serious bone in his body. Compared to Alicia's confident work driven persona he is the complete opposite and as a result he can drive his User to disparagement. At his core he is however inherently good natured. Like a naive youth he sees the best in everybody and in his childlike innocence he generously pours his affections onto anyone close to him, be they close acquaintances or not. Unfortunately this leaves Ladon wide open to manipulators and individuals with ulterior motives. It wouldn't take much for him to be tricked into causing serious harm to someone he cared about as he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. An extension of his lack of sharp wit is his extreme clumsiness both physically and socially. Forever knocking things over in Alicia's small flat, he can sometimes cause the same accidental damage when talking to people. He has a tendency to open his mouth before he thinks things through. An off-hand mean spirited jibe made by Alicia in private can carelessly be aired in public like dirty laundry. When Alicia initially got Ladon she had high hopes of him providing additional help with her work and propelling her deeper into her studies, yet a few days down the line it became evident that he was more of a hindrance than anything else. An unruly child that was more prone to distracting her than offering to help collate research... None the less his endearing traits have earned him a warm niche in her affections and as time passes and he does some growing up he might be able to grow into her expectations just a little more.
