Nancy reacted predictably to having her head grabbed by a back claw from nowhere and there was much screeching. Emerson was not amused and started kicking Darkrai before Nancy called him off and informed him that Darkrai was not going to drag her into an endless void. She did wish she'd had some previous warning from the legendary pokemon and she took notes afterwards.

"Thanks Nick! I'm going to be doing a lot of research..."

The scene with the three legendary birds was worrying and she was possibly more worried about the gauntlet thing. That was disturbing and she didn't need a Darkrai to give her nightmares after that. She remembered reading about something similar a while back having to do with Orre. It was getting late and the police station was busy booking people and filing reports so she's have to wait until the library was open in the morning.

The reassuring thing was that Darkrai had told her her brother was alive and well and bringing Cresselia to visit the town. Thank Arceus he was alive. The Unown weren't letting Kujo sort things out his way though which was annoying. It would be so much easier to clean things up with the authorities if her brother could just tell them what was up. She planned on going to the station and telling them what she knew when it was open but such important information was not to be taken lightly.

She wrote a nice long letter detailing the believable parts of her knowledge (Telling them Darkrai showed her visions was sure to damage credibility.) and in a fit of paranoia sent a copy of the email to every single police station and news station in the area. It was no use tracking her down to silence the rumors now and if the network was extensive enough for Gamma to silence that then there was no point anyway.

As Nancy went to bed that night, she looked out of the window in her rented room in the pokecenter to see a beautiful light pass by the moon. She and her pokemon slept rather peacefully that night.

The next morning Nancy went into full on detective mode much to the dismay of Emerson. He didn't like how the librarian kept looking at him. She finally had to put Emerson away when the librarian realized the combusken was a fire type.

It would be days before she finally moved on from the detective work at the urging of her pokemon. She wished her brother would be able to come see her, she wanted to give Brauner back. Shawn also needed more training, he had a long way to go before becoming a Gyrados. In order to fight Nancy realized the quickest way to become a good trainer was to take the standard Pokemon journey.




Elsewhere about 5 minutes after midnight

Darkrai wished that he could block out the sound of Cresselia's angry lecture but it didn't do any good to cover ears when being shouted at by a psychic type. She was ticked, You just had to go and show yourself to Team Gamma, they know you're not at Newmoon island anymore and what if they had a master ball! You could have been caught! With your powers do you know what they'd do to the world? You also are putting the prophesied human helpers in danger too you know! I'm telling Arceus!... The nightmare pokemon resigned himself to a very long night.

Hours later

...You are three million seventy-two thousand and fifty-six years old, act your age! Take these feathers too so you have an antidote to give people so they aren't afraid to sleep at night every time you make an appearance.

Wait, What?

You heard me.

Erm, okay then. Say, have you ever had a grilled cheese sandwich? It's heavenly.

Are you changing the subject?

Nancy had, after 3 separate attempts finally obtained the fire badge from the gym here. The girl felt stronger too and was somewhat daunted by how difficult the gym was. Were all the gyms progressively worse?! Knowing it was the best way to prepare for whatever lay ahead, Nancy pressed on. After talking to the police, it was decided that she'd keep Brauner the Smeargle with her since they didn't know where her brother was right now. He'd tried painting pictures for the police at her request but the best they could make it out to be was that it was maybe three fairies attacking the blue blob in a blizzard.

Nancy hit the routes with her pokemon hoping to maybe catch one more good pokemon for her team.

Shawn, her magikarp, was also going to need a lot of help.

(Exit stage right. Opinions please: What will be her sixth pokemon? Du Blois the Excadrill? Clouseau the Deino? Adrian the Speal? Victorique the Eevee?)

Kujo was still trying to get used to how much the Unown liked to mess with him. He was never sure if they were doing it on purpose or what and he wondered too if they had any odd effects on the world around him. He'd heard that Unown in large numbers could do odd things.

"All right, where did you guys teleport me this time?" Kujo asked and the scroll was currently hidden in a scabbard like tube. Kujo had changed his disguise to maybe throw off Team Gamma and was dressed in an outfit that made him look like a ronin. A tacky ronin. With an eyemask that really didn't cover his face. He'd asked the Unown for help with the materials and was certain that though he'd attract a lot of weird looks there was no way anyone would make the connection between the weirdo with the bamboo sword and the generally quiet guy who was a member of the archaeology association and planned to take over his parent's cake shop after proposing to his girlfriend.

He was right. The Unown had decided it was easier to get their point across if they used telepathy rather than wait for his to take the scroll out of the odd carrying case. We are in Duff Town. We are looking for Apollo. He's got a Dragonair.

"Okay. I can do that... Let's go see the Pokemon Center first." Kujo waved absentmindedly at Kenji and Apollo as he walked past and winced as the Unown shouted at him telepathically, You just walked past him you idiot!

"Um hey! Excuse me, is your name Apollo?" Kujo asked doing a quick 180 degree turn.

"Oh good heavens I should hope I'm not one of those guys. Sheesh. Why do people keep assuming I'm from Team Gamma?"
You act suspicious.
Kujo sighed. "You guys aren't the only people they've stolen Pokemon from, they took my entire team. Just... Okay where to start... You know what, just read this scroll. It's important. My real name's Kujo by the way and if you could refrain from telling people you met me it's really for the best."

Kujo took out the scroll and unrolled it which revealed the Unown arranging themselves on the page into a vaguely prophetic looking set of words. Something about dragons and cataclysms and iciness and weather. He nervously looked around to make sure no one was looking at them then realized that if anyone walked past them it would be weirder if they didn't stare at the cheesily dressed samurai.


(I'm really busy this week so have fun while I'm absent for a few days please. Is Kenji supposed to be included in the plot too? )

(I'd written a reply but apparently forgot to hit the all important submit. Can I pretend this is still in the past before his current location? Drat.)

"Was that what it said?" Kujo probably never would get used to the Unown. "May I see the bit about the sandwiches?"

We know our prophecy. Stop being so doubtful will you?

Kujo just watched in disbelief wondering where the battle had come from. "Um, you know I'll just uh, take my leave then. You'll find your Legendaries or they'll find you. Just make sure you've proven yourself to be strong and be at Soul Jungle when it looks like the world's ending or something like that. Anything else I can do? Maybe?" He wished he knew more and started to look at the rest of the prophecy that he hadn't really read through as he got ready to leave.

"I guess I should leave too? Oh carp."
The cloaked figure on a rooftop made Kujo nervous. Cloaked figures in general made him nervous though.
