It was a bit later than she normally went out, but Optheli had someone to meet tonight. In fact someone she was eager to see. Which was probably why she and Dynith were here a bit early. She leaned against the anxious green and patted her leg. "Don't worry. He'll show." Just as she said that, her green caught the sounds of someone or something moving out of the trees. She turned to face the trees just as a man came out, followed by a wher so dark it was just a shadow in the night.

"Relys!" Optheli raced over to the wherhandler, and threw her arms around his neck in a big hug. "It's so good to see you! And to you Relysk," she added to the wher as she released the man.

Dynith wasn't sure about going out at night. Hers normally didn't do it, and she liked that. But Hers was determined to go tonight, and she wasn't going to let her rider out on her own. She fidgeted restlessly as they waited in the dark. Her eyes had some nightvision but not as much as she could wish now. Miiiiine? She called softly as if afraid the things in the dark would hear. Apparently something did! A crack and the sound of footsteps came from the forest. Her head whipped toward the sound. Only then did her nostrils tell her the scent was familiar.

The wherhandler came out from the tiny piece of forest that separated the Caravan's tradition spot from hustle and bustle of the Weyr. He had a couple of packages tucked under his arm. Relys gave a hearty chuckle and slapped the girl on the back with his free hand. " 'Theli! I hardly recognize you!" He teased the greenrider. Of course he did, and so did Relysk. "Good day Dynith, er well night." It was his day.

"I have something for you." He proffered the larger package with a grin, "and I have something for your brother. I figured you could give it to him later since he was busy tonight." It wasn't often he got a chance to stop and talk with his friends. Weyr life seemed to suit both to a 'T'.

Relysk moved out from the cover of the trees. He checked first the girl and dragon. Yup he knew them. It was safe for His. Then came the check of the surrounding area. All was quiet. He gave a chirrup as the pleasant-girl greeted him.

Night time was not a normal time for Dizzian to be out and about. Even twilight was too much for her. After the revolution especially she found herself rather unnerved by the dark. Every shadow could be something out to get her and in the jungles of Trine, there were a lot of shadows. "Courath... I don't want to be out here."

Her green, half grown and ever confident in herself crooned and nudged her rider. ~ Come mine, we are safe within the Weyr. Night is nothing you or I should ever fear. ~ She had only insisted on a walk, her muscles ached from the almost obsessive way she focused on her strength exercises. Courath was determined not to let her injuries keep her behind but today she realized she was in danger of over doing it.

Dizzian also needed a break, she'd been fretting over her friends and Thread and everything else under the sun. Plus the overwhelming amount of people had turned the social happy girl she'd Impressed to an anxiety filled bundle of worry. More often than not now Dizzian was inclined to hide away in their weyr when not at lessons or chores. She'd barely talked to anyone outside of Hekate when the silverrider wasn't with her own boyfriend.

A quiet walk away from people would clear both of their heads and the gentle exercise and cool air would soothe Courath's aches. A steady thrum of encouragement eventually wore Dizzian down and she began to relax as they made their circle of the weyr.

Courath lifted her head as the shape of a green dragon came into view. ~ It is Dynith. ~ Courath was vaguely aware that Dizzian knew the green and her rider though how she had no idea. She sent a feeling of greeting to the adult green as they drew near. ~ Evening, mine and I are just passing through. ~

Dizzian smiled as she recognized the dragon. She hadn't really talked to Optheli much recently. Not that they'd been that close but she was a friend of S'kiro's and Dizzian had liked the greenrider. Their walk had done her enough good to at least want to say hi. "What are you doing out so late?" She called pleasantly and waved her hand once she could see the shape of Dynith's rider. Her eyes weren't so keen as Courath's and she didn't see the other pair that were with them.

Optheli gave the handler a delighted grin. "You did?! Relys you didn't have to! Though I absolutely love presents." She gave a soft laugh. "Greetings Relysk. Fight any holdless off lately?" The girl paused and tilted her head at her green, listening.

Dynith shifted her position as the sense of another dragon pinged on her awareness. Mine, Courath and Her's are here. The green gave a soft croon to the dragon. Welcome Courath, Mine was speaking with her friend. She moved to settle near her rider.

"Oh hey Dizzian! Come meet Relys and Relysk. He's an old friend of S'kor's and mine. If you're not in a hurry, come join us for awhile." She held on happily to the presents, though she really wanted to open hers. "Relys this is Dizzian, and her green Courath."

"Don't I know. Which is why I brought them." He winked playfully. Relys smiled and gave a nod to the rider joining them. "Pleased to meet you Dizzian." At a chirp from his wher, he gave the 'ok' sign. "They are friends Relysk."

Relysk accepted the signal and went to lay a few feet behind his handler. He noted and remembered the heat signatures of Dizzian and Courath. The blue gave a polite chirp.

Dizzian's steps froze, like a runner stared down by a dragon, and her voice hitched in her throat. Relysk... that was a wher's name. Now as Dynith shifted Dizzian could just see the dark shape of the wher looming in the dark. A tremble went through her short frame. Courath's eyes whirled with a flash of yellow as she nudged her rider. ~ They are friends? ~

~ I.. I don't know... why would Optheli be meeting with a wherhandler so late? ~

~ If I recall mine, wher's don't often come out during the day. ~ Courath understood her rider's hesitation and fear, even shared in it some, but she was willing to let the rider and handler pairs have the benefit of the doubt for now. She returned Dynith's croon while nudging a resisting Dizzian forward. ~ Thank you Dynith. Are you well this evening? ~

Resisting was almost an understatement. Dizzian, friends or not, did not want to get any closer to that Thing than she had to. Her breath came in quick shallow gasps. "H-H Optheli... Relys." She gulped and stuck to Courath's foreleg like she was bound there.

Optheli noted the strange stillness in her friend. She turned to face the girl. "Dizzian?" She had noted the yellow in Courath's eyes. "He won't bite you," the girl said softly.

Dynith now gave an encouraging croon to Courath's rider. It was odd to be giving courage instead of getting it. But she knew she needed to help Her's friend. The handler and wher are nice. Mine and Mine's brother have known them all their lives. The green sent to Courath. I am. I am sorry our friend has caused Yours distress. Dynith's eyes whirled anxiously.

Relys wondered at the rider's odd reaction. Of course with the revolution, it wasn't hard to guess. "If he bothers you that much rider, I can send him back to his wagon." Not what he would have preferred, but the caraven needed to stay on good terms with the weyr and its riders. Relysk wasn't a brute like those loyal to Keller.

Relysk snorted and chirped a 'no' signal. He did not want to leave!
