Precipitously placed on the edge of a mountaintop, Quarter Hill Academy is where the "troubled" but intelligent children are sent--the ones who torture small animals, but love to orate on Russian literature classics; who needlessly set things on fire, but can solve advanced math equations with just a glance; who push their teachers down the stairs, then spend the free class period inventing a flawless egg-cracker. For the genius and disturbed, the Academy is a place meant to allow their intellectual side to flourish, while the serene setting puts at ease their sadistic, manipulative tendencies.
But when you put dozens of underage crazies in one building isolated on a mountaintop, can you really expect everything to go as planned?

School FAQ:

Only accepts ages eleven to eighteen.
Students are allowed to keep whatever they want with them, be it butcher knives, BB guns or teddy bears. However, if they, say, stab someone with a butcher knife, it is permanently taken away. Upon entering the school, every student is given utmost freedom; the more they display violent/destructive behavior, the more rules are imposed upon them, such as personal curfews or classes on anger management.
The school is really, truly isolated. The closest building is only a mile down the mountain, and is an abandoned, burned out quarter mint, left to decay after a fire in the '70s. There are many ghost stories that circulate about it around the school, and it's a popular hang out when students sneak out at night.
It's a six hour drive to get to the closest town.
May add more as things progress~

Rules:
At least five full sentences per post, longer is fine. Third person, past tense.
Posts don't have to be fancy, just have the character's picture and name in it.
Mild swearing is fine, but nothing uselessly excessive.
If your romance gets serious, take it to PMs. >.>
Violence is expected, given the nature of the prospective students, but nothing too graphic.
Not god-modding or auto-hitting, because that's just no fun.
Generally, follow the TOS.

"Four high schools down, and two more years to go. Morgan wasn’t making much progress especially when he was kicked out of his last school. He had burned down the chemistry lab after mixing two chemicals together which caused an explosion. His parents weren’t too happy and neither was the school. Morgan had been kicked out of school the very same day. The school had pressed charges on him since it wasn’t the first time he had burnt down a school building. His parents had found him a good lawyer who blamed it on faulty wires which lead to the fire.

Now with a new year and a fresh start, Morgan had been placed into a school for children like him. He wasn’t so thrilled about the idea but his parents had no choice. No other regular school would take him. Morgan just wanted to finish school and get his diploma.

His parents had just dropped Morgan off at his new school. He couldn’t believe such a school existed or rather dwelled so far in the mountains. Morgan sighed as he stood with suitcase in hand. His parents had practically thrown him from the car. Morgan slipped a hand into his hair. He looked toward the school building, which was more like an abandoned building. Morgan wasn’t even sure if he was in the right place. He looked at the sign next to the door which read, Quarter Hill Academy. Morgan appeared to be in the right place but no one was in sight.

He didn’t want to stand outside all day standing and staring at nothing. Morgan started toward the stairs. He looked around before opening the door and stepping inside. Morgan wasn’t sure where to go but he figured it was best to just start looking around. He started toward the stairs and lugged his suit case up a flight of stairs. Morgan arrived on the landing and started walking down the hallway in search of a free bedroom to use while he was assigned here.

Amnesty quietly walked down the hall, pausing in front of each window to take in the warm morning sunlight. The view from the school was so peaceful, just miles and miles of forest and mountains, turned gold in autumn sun. She had to admit, if she was going to be stuck somewhere, Quarter Hill was a nice place to be.
She leaned against a window, gazing out, absent-mindedly stroking her shining hair. It felt like silk; thick, strong silk, that laid naturally in wide waves over her shoulders. She took pride in many facets of her appearance, but her hair was one of her favorites.
She looked down the hall as a boy with a suitcase came around the corner. Breaking into a wide smile of prefect white teeth, she started towards him, waving sweetly.
"Hi, you must be a new student here," she said cheerily, holding out a hand to shake.

" Morgan was caught off by surprise as he noticed a young female. He took in the color of her blonde hair along with her bright blue eyes. Morgan stared at her curiously as she smiled. He nodded slightly at her words, "Yes..I'm Morgan.." Morgan spoke a little quietly as he looked down her hand. He wasn't one for touching really and would have rather not touched her. Morgan kept his hands to himself as he dismissed her greeting by a hand shake. "

Amnesty grinned lightly at his handshake rejection, placing it at the back of her mind.
"Morgan. Nice to meet you. My name's Amnesty. Would like someone to show you around?" she asked welcomingly, looking over the hall and back at him. Avoids physical contact, soft spoken, hesitant, but not timid, I don't think, she thought as she smiled at him, waiting for an answer. Black hair, very pale, maybe doesn't go outside much. Only one suitcase, doesn't put a lot of value in material things. Wonder what his problem is... you never can tell with most people.
When she first came to the school, she had tried very hard to discern peoples' issues after only just meeting them, but quickly discovered it was an impossible quest, even for someone of her judge of character. Quirks were often completely unrelated to what was immediately observable on the outside; they were defined as something wrong and unnatural, so naturally they showed up in strange ways.

" Morgan watched Amnesty before him. He found that her blonde hair mixed with her red outfit reminded him of the flames of fire. Morgan knew it was odd behavior to think that Amnesty looked like the flames of fire but he couldn't help it. He looked her over almost imagining the flames licking over her skin and burning her. Morgan shook his thoughts away as he heard Amnesty speak. He nodded a little, "Yes..If you wouldn't mind that is?" Morgan spoke a little confused on where he should go. He didn't think Amnesty was to bad of a person and seemed fairly nice enough. Morgan wasn't so sure about making friends but at least he would know someone. He looked around a little before glancing back at Amnesty. "

"Alright, follow me," Amnesty said, starting down the hall and smiling at him over her shoulder. At the end of the hall she stopped in front of a door, and gently pushed it open. She leaned in and looked around; it was an empty dorm room, a plain bed with desk and dresser beneath a wide window.
"Although I'm sure you're welcome to pick a different room later, you can leave your suitcase here for now. It's unoccupied."
She stepped back and waited by the doorway, same genuine, sweet smile spread across her face.

"Morgan nodded as Amnesty spoke. He followed her down the hallway not sure where she was leading him. Morgan held onto his suit case dragging it behind him. He stopped beside Amnesty as they arrived at a door. Morgan looked inside as she opened it. He glanced around figuring that this would do. Morgan wasn't picky about such things. He walked past Amnesty and into the room. Morgan lugged his suitcase inside and set it by his best. He glanced back toward Amnesty, "Care to show me the rest of the place?" Morgan asked smiling a little as he walked back toward Amnesty. He grabbed the door and closed it. Morgan made a mental note of the room so he wouldn't get lost trying to find it again. "

"Of course, let's start with upstairs," she said, turning a corner and starting up a narrow, steep staircase. "You'll have to get used to taking big steps on the stairs here, they've very compressed so that they take up less room. Always seemed silly to me, they have enough space."
She emerged on the top landing and turned a corner to another hall lined with doors matching the dorm rooms downstairs, and continued to an open area with couches and coffee tables and an old upright piano. The windows bordered one wall and were arched, facing out over the mountainside.
"This is the lounge area. It often has many people in it, but since it's early on a weekend morning, I'm pretty much the only person awake," she said wryly, crossing her arms and looking out the window. "I like to keep alert. You never know when it could come in handy."

"Morgan nodded as Amnesty spoke, upstairs seemed like an excellent idea since they were already there. He followed Amnesty toward a pair of stairs. Morgan looked them over but continued to follow her anyways. He nodded at her words a little figuring it was best to get used to it. Morgan didn’t mind stairs since they were easier to get around from place to place. He continued to follow Amnesty not sure where she was leading him. She seemed like to know her way around the large building. Morgan tried to pay attention and pick out random things to remember so he didn’t get lost.

He knew he would get lost since he was bad with directions but he was trying. Morgan trailed behind Amnesty as she led him toward a lounge area. He looked around taking it all it. The lounge area looked rather relaxing in a way. Morgan smiled a little as he heard Amnesty speak. He looked around before looking back at her. ”Alert?...Alert for what?” Morgan asked curiously as he walked toward the window and looked out it.
                                                  "

"Oh, anything, really," Amnesty said, eyes twinkling as they caught the sunlight, "the slightest details can provide the greatest insight. I like to make sure I take advantage of them. Everything changes, depending on the time of day, the weather, who's around, what's going on. Endless possibilities."
Unafraid to ask questions upon first meeting, though he still seems fairly non-confrontational. Perhaps he's just innocently curious, but no one here is innocent. Especially not the ones who seem like it.
She smiled at him warmly.

"Morgan glanced at Amnesty as she spoke. He listened as she explained to him what she had to be on alert for. Morgan nodded between intervals as she spoke. He pulled away from the window as he looked around. ”Ready to show me the rest of the place?” Morgan asked as glanced toward her. He wasn’t sure if Amnesty just wanted to chill or show him around. Morgan didn’t mind either way but he wasn’t one for just chilling. He wanted to look around the school first and relax later. "

"Yes, let's go," Amnesty said, as if just remembering what they were doing. She led the way down the next hall, also lined with dorm rooms, and up another staircase, which went straight into a large room with old-fashioned wooden desks, the kind with the desk part attached to the chair. Windows still bordered the front wall, but the back wall was covered in an ancient chalkboard, covered in the leftovers of poor erasing.
"This is one of two classrooms. The student body is small enough, and classes spaced out enough, that only two rooms are needed. Although, I'm always of the opinion that we could use some more space around here. We've been getting a new student every few months since I've been here, and we'll be out of rooms soon."
