I'm the guild captain for The Social Local and I haven't gotten a single new member yet. I promoted my guild in the guild promoting forums, as well as the new gaians forum and the international forum. I also put my guild in my signature and on my status.
This is my first guild, are there any other ways I can promote my guild or in any other areas I can post? I'm not sure what else to do.

if you have another guild then you can promote it there
you can also post it in the chatterbox
beyond that i think you have listed it everyplace you can

Affiliate you guilds with others I started my guild pretty recently and have 25 members in my rp guild many are not active but I have alot setup in the guild. Anyway we can affiliate each others guilds or something Heres the link if you want to check it out:

Forsaken Demon Prince Affiliate you guilds with others I started my guild pretty recently and have 25 members in my rp guild many are not active but I have alot setup in the guild. Try asking a few friends if they want to join to keep in contact. Hopefully they can be semi-active in the lease. ^^;

Why not merge some of the guilds? So much duplication!
For example:
There's like 5,000 RP guilds. Making another one is a waste. It is better to be an active subforum in one guild than be part of a dead guild. Hundreds of RP guilds have 2-3 active members. Now imagine consolidating 100 of those guilds and making one huge honking RP guild with 200-300 active members. Now THAT would be awesome.
The problem is that who will give up captainship of their 2-3 person guild to be a regular member of another guild? Too many guilds are created by people who see the captain rank and power. "I'm the boss, I run this thing, I have power over this guild and others" is their attitude. Those guilds die at warp speed.
It is better to consolidate so many guilds and preserve the relationships, friendships, etc. than to have another dead guild.
