The guard nodded and looked down at the wide-eyed Kira. "No!" Kira managed to whisper before the knife found itself digging into her chest. If it was possible, her eyes went even wider as she raised her head to look at Espio. Her mouth opened as if to say something before her eyes rolled back into her head and she simple fell into a heap at the mans feet, blood pooling around her. I woke up and you were gone

Perhaps Espio hadn't acted to this point because he either hadn't known that was going to happen, or if he did he didn't think Rouge would go through with it. But now that it was in front of him, an obviously dead Kira...His mind wasn't really clear.

The guard looked down at Kira and all the blood. He retrieved his knife from the girls chest, deliberatly rolling Kira over onto her back to Espio could see her face. She looked kinda peaceful...except for the fact that her face had blood on it. I woke up and you were gone

Espio's heart began racing, anger mixing with sorrow and...fear? But rather than giving him some sort of odd superstrength that you see in the movies, it just jumbled his thoughts to the point that he could barely move. He didn't even notice Rouge pull out a certain blue amulet.
"Now how does this work again? Ah yes..."

"What's going on?" She asked. It was clear that she couldn't remember being stabbed in front of him only a few seconds before. I woke up and you were gone

Espio blinked, then realized what Rouge had done. The amulet, she'd used the amulet. She'd killed Kira and then brought her back to life...but why? He tried to push against his restraints.

She looked fearful, as if she could almost tell what was on his mind and what he was about to do. Without warning, he plundged the knife, once again into Kira's chest. This time she let out a little gasp and again fell to the ground. Over and over again, they would kill her, until he cried out to stop it, or it drove him insane. I woke up and you were gone

The guard pulled the knife out of Kira again and waited for her to wake once again. Kira blinked awake and she looked up to meet Espio's eyes. Once again within seconds, before she could say anything, the knife was driven into her and she let out a weak cry of pain. "E-Espio..." She whispered weakly. I woke up and you were gone
