it would be great if you could all post websites/books or any other helpful information in this genre.....

i shall start....there is a film on youtube called: ungrip

i think everybody should take a look at it...

also there is a website: www.vintageprojects.com it is a useful website as it shows how to make lathes/machinery from scrap at a fraction of the price of shop bought items... there isnt a great deal of information but i think it would be useful, also there is a website called:

www.lindsaybks.com a website that has survivalist books and books concerning self sufficency like how to make charcoal and tar at the same time...how to turn charcoal into electricity....i think its worth a look but you have to order a catalouge to get the books.

and finally go on youtube and type in: patrolling with sean kennedy

he is a canadian ex military guy and some of you may find his shows useful.

so please folks...add to this list, so that we can all learn from each others research etc....

Just looking over those sites there appears to be a lot of useful information for long-term survival and self-sufficiency. I haven't looked up Sean Kennedy.

have you looked up sean kennedy yet? if you look him up on wikipedia he also has two websites related to him rantedia and KULT.net

I haven't looked him up yet. I've been too busy with work and other things to spend too much time online.

The only way I know of to get more activity would be more topics that ask for input. There are a lot of threads in this guild that just present information. Very few seem to ask for discussion. I had an idea for a thread just now if you'd like to make it. Those of us interested in survival probably have survival kits or bug-out bags. What do we keep in them?

If you make a thread like that I'll definitely contribute as I've been doing a good deal of preparation lately.
