A cool breeze blew through the young Dratini's hair as he sat near one of the many flowing rivers of Mirror Falls. He had found a small place of warmth near the waterfall that spilled into the river, playing with a little fishy he had seen in the water that wanted to play "chase the tail" as he dipped the end of his tail into the water, moving it around as the fish cased it around. It made Caius giggle a little, smiling wide as he pulled his tail out of the water, seeing the fish he had been playing with poke its head out of the water. It turned out to be a cute little Finneon that he was playing with and all Caius could do was giggle and put his tail back into the water to continue playing with it. Maybe the Finneon would be his friend! Then he would have someone else to play with too! Oh he hoped he could find the Finneon again tomorrow . . .
Just as Caius was about to pull his tail out of the water again, he suddenly felt himself being pushed head first into the cold water before him, a loud yell escaping him as he flopped right into the water, flailing his arms and struggling to get back to the surface. He coughed up water that had managed to make its way into his mouth, rubbing the water out of his eyes as he looked up to see what, or what who, had pushed him into the water. Immediately his eyes widened in fear seeing four boys standing before him, laughing at him. One of the boys smirked down at poor Caius, telling another one to pull him out of the water. He did so and Caius felt a hand grab his hair and tug it roughly to force him out of the water as Caius gripped onto the boy's wrist to try and get him to let go. He finally did let go, only to abruptly let go of the poor Dratini and let him fall down onto the ground roughly. Caius groaned in pain as he looked up at them in fear, his eyes watering as he tried to scoot away. "L-leave me alone!" he begged, feeling tears rolling down his cheeks. He couldn't believe this! He had been doing so well on not getting bullied and being left alone . . . but apparently today just wasn't his lucky day at all.
"Why don't you just disappear already, you little freak?!" One of the boys shouted as he reached to grab a hold of Caius' hair again, pulling him up. "Yeah! Or go run and cry to your mommy and daddy!" another one yelled, only to cause Caius to cry more, struggling in the hold. He managed to get the boy to let go of him, but that only led to him landing on the ground roughly once more, letting out a cry of pain. "I-I s-said leave m-me—ah!" He was cut off by a sharp kick to his torso, causing him to hug his stomach tightly, curling up as he felt another kick to his tail. "Hah! He doesn't have parents, remember? He's a loner freak!" one of the boys snorted, watching as Caius tried to crawl away. That only caused the same boy to grab his tail and pull him back, dragging him along the rough, cold ground only to be kicked once again. Of all the times Caius could use someone, there was no one around. No one to help him . . . no one was ever around to help him when he really needed it.

Finally, he found his freedom. Reuel felt as though he was going to die over at his lessons today from his tutors. Mathematics, literature, sciences, economic; he was ready to grab his practice sabre from his fencing lessons and just stab himself to end the agony. However he thought about sneaking out of the grand manor was a better idea rather than taking out his own life with a blunt sword. The princely Goldeen scaled up the tall gates that surrounded the manor, separating him from the world, with his sabre strapped on to his side all the way up to the top and jumped down to the icy cold ground seeing his beautiful fins billowing in the air. Reuel looked back at the manor with a smirk on his face as he smoothed out his clothes a bit. “I’ll see you later.” He muttered before he walked away for he was going to enjoy the new day today without the suffocation of the gilded home and his family there.
From there, Reuel went off to find something to do. He wanted to go to the city for a bit and see the people there but the golden haired male wanted to work on his form in a more peaceful environment rather than at home. Anything is peaceful without having that old Walrein yelling at his ears that his footing it wrong by a mere few inches. Anything is peace to him really. And so he treks to the waterfalls where he can find his peace in solitude just so he may also relax as well besides his fencing practice. He followed along the river’s path upward while keeping his boots’ footing from the cold ground. However, the moment he got there, it seemed that someone was there already judging from the voices he was hearing as he walked up slowly for he wouldn’t disturbed what was going on. It wasn’t in his nature to be eavesdropping, but it didn’t sound ever so pleasant at all.
Reuel peered behind the rocks to see what was occurring near the waterfall. His blue eyes widen in shock and horror as he saw four young boys taunting cruelly to a poor Dratini babe. He cringed seeing the babe being dropped roughly to the ground and then he was kicked to the stomach. “How . . . why would they this cruel?” It sickens him to his stomach and angered the young adult so much seeing how tightly he clenched on to the hilt of his sabre as it was drawn out and he stepped forward just before one of the boys stepped up to kick him.
He was fast on his feet and stepped right in between the boys and the Dratini babe as the little dragon was cloaked underneath his billowed tailfin. “Stop this instant!” Reuel demanded as he points his sabre at the shocked children. They were paralyzed in fear except for one boy who finally spoke up to the intruding male, puffing up his chest as he tries to be brave despite the shaking knees Reuel could clearly see. “Who are you to tell us what to do?!” “Yeah!” The other three agreed in unison but all the Goldeen did was pushed his sword up to his chest and the youth merely swallowed a hard knot in his throat. “I’m an adult with a sword.” And with that, he lunged forward and sliced at the children. No harm has touched their skin at all except for the slashes on their clothes. They shrilled in utter terror as they all ran away from the crazy fish with a sword seeing the smirk on Reuel’s face as he sheathed his sword.
The princely goldeen turned around and gave his full attention to the babe that he sheltered from the terrible boys. He kneeled down before him with concerned and sadness in his eyes as he scanned all the injuries he obtained. “Hey there little one, are you okay?” Reuel asked as he raised his hand and gently caressed his soft cheek and felt the tear stains. It wrenched his heart so much seeing someone so very young an innocent like him that he instantly picked the Dratini babe to be cradled in his arms tightly and keeping him warm from the cold. “Why not spend the day with me? I could use a little company if you want to.” He spoke in a gentle voice as he fixed his hair up a bit while he examined him closely now. He was a cute little Dratini and a unique one too seeing that he has a tail instead of legs but it didn’t bothered the man much seeing the smile on his face. The blue scales shone like sapphire which is what he likes just as much as his bright amethyst orbs. “My name is Reuel. What’s your name?”

Caius was so certain that this was going to be the end for him. They were going to beat him until he couldn't move! And there was no one around . . . Suddenly though, as the little Dratini looked up, he noticed a flash of orange, black and white before his eyes. His purple eyes widened greatly before him, staring up at this sudden tall stranger before him. Who in the world was this? Were they actually . . . saving him? No one had ever done that before! It made him so happy that his eyes started to well up again, but they were tears of happiness that he just couldn't hold back right now. Someone . . . someone was here to save him . . . !
The boys seemed run off pretty quickly as the stranger before him sliced at the children with his sword, gasping as they ran away in terror from the crazy fish standing before him. It was a relief that the stranger put his sword away when he turned around to look at him, trembling amethyst eyes looking up at him in amazement. A goldeen? But what was one doing all the way out here? And someone who looked so . . . fancy and rich . . . Didn't someone like that have something better to do, rather than fussing over someone like him? However, those questions were soon completely erased from his mind as he watched the goldeen kneel down before him, asking if he was okay. At first he flinched a little when he felt that hand caress his face, about to push the hand away until he realized it was a comforting gesture. He leaned into the goldeen's touch for a moment just before he let out a surprised yelp as he was lifted up into the stranger's arms, squirming a little at first since he honestly wasn't used to being picked up at all. The last time he had been picked up, it had been his . . .
Tears were welling up in his eyes once more as he was cradled tightly in the goldeen's arms, his lips trembling as if he was about to sob. Oh god, he missed being held so much . . . he missed the warmth another body against his gave him. He found himself cuddling closer to the goldeen until he heard the man speak once more, asking him to spend the day with him because he could use a little company. His voice was so gentle and soothing that the dratini found himself calming down incredibly, a small smile stretching across his lips as he looked up at him, letting him fix his hair up a little as he blinked a few times. He moved around a little bit in his arms but that was only to get a better look at his saviour, smiling wide as he heard his name. "Re . . . Reu . . . Reu . . ." Caius was trying his best to pronounce Reuel's name but that only ended with him pouting in frustration. ". . . Ree!" He decided on with a sudden big smile, "I'm Caius . . ." His voice grew quiet though and he soon found himself distracted by the shiny necklace around Reuel's neck, raising a hand up to touch it gently, tugging at it a little. It was so pretty! And it looked so expensive . . . "So pwetty . . ." he whispered as he let go of it, dragging his hand down Reuel's chest before it came to a stop to rest just over the goldeen's heart, looking back up at his face. "So pwetty . . ." he whispered again as he raised a hand up to touch Reuel's face this time as well. Although suddenly there was a grumbling nose coming from Caius' little tummy, causing him to blush deeply as he looked down at it, pouting as he looked back up at Reuel. "I . . ." he started to say, his blush only growing a deeper red as he looked down, embarrassed that that had happened in front of his beautiful saviour.

“Oh dear god what did I do?!” Reuel instantly thought seeing the little babe now looking as though he’s about to sob in his arms and now panicking on the inside. Did he hold him wrong? Is he afraid of him? Well, he is a stranger to the little one so he really could be scared even though the Goldeen is being nice and gentle with him. But, he saw and felt how the little one is cuddling up to his chest and all his worries vanished as he held him tightly in his arms. The male couldn’t help but to smile on how adorable the Dratini babe is as he saw the bright smile on his face once knowing his name. And a funny one too hearing just how difficult his name was to pronounce for someone so young but it seemed he settled on calling him Ree. He chuckled as he approved of the nickname and smiled learning about his name. “Caius, that is a mighty strong na—” However he was cut off before he could finished when he felt Caius tugging on his necklace in sheer curiosity.
The blonde craned his neck down to the Dratini while being mindful about the horn above his forehead. He smiled seeing how Caius likes the necklace seeing how he is touching it. “It is pretty, isn’t it?” He said, but then he felt a tiny hand now reaching over his shirt although his hand has rested upon his heart and looked up to see him. It made his blue eyes widen a bit in surprise just to hear Caius calling him pretty. It almost made him want to blush and even more when the little hand was now reaching up to touch his face. However, he stopped the moment when his stomach growled right in front of him. It made Caius blush deeply in embarrassment but all that Reuel did was just chuckle and smile on how adorable he really is. “Oh my~ Well, let’s get you something yummy for your tummy then Caius. I’m getting pretty hungry as well.” He said with a bright smile as he brought his hand up to tickle his cute little tummy before he finally stood up straight and took his brand new friend away from the waterfalls to the cities below the ice.
He cuddled Caius in his arms to keep him warm as he ventured through the crystal maze to the city where the path has taken them to. It was a fairly small city but a lively one none the less seeing the people walking about to their day. They have greeted the Goldeen countless of times and even kneeled down in his presence even though he told them to stand up for it wasn’t necessary. Caius must be confused on why all the people here are saying hello to him, but that is because the blood that course through his body is blue whose family has a long and rich history. However, he doesn’t care about it and wished to be treated just as normally as the others. “Now where to eat . . .” He muttered as he walked down the street until he caught a waft of a delicious aroma in the air which leads him to see a small restaurant right in front of him. It made the male smile brightly and looked down to see Caius. “Let’s go in here to get some food!” He exclaimed happily and walked inside where he was greeted by a kind Chinchou who led them to their seat as he has Caius sitting on his lap for now looking at the menu. “What do you want to eat Caius? Is there something that you like?” He has to ask if there's something that he likes to eat.

Caius really was embarrassed by having his tummy rumble so loud like that in front of who he considered to be his new friend. He hadn't eaten in a few days now and so . . . any sort of food would be amazing. So to hear that Reuel was going to get something yummy for his tummy, Caius could help but get really excited and happy, smiling wide as he looked up at Reuel in awe. This pretty stranger really was his hero, he couldn't believe it! He honestly felt like he could eat an entire Rapidash or something! It was hard to find food when he was so young and little that sometimes he just gave up eating for a day, which was really sad since being so young he shouldn't have to. But, he had no choice. Maybe he could see Reuel more and he would be able to feed him? It made him hopeful.
On the way down through the crystal maze and into the city Caius snuggled up close to Reuel's chest in his arms, feeling a lot safer than he had ever felt in the past while. Something about him . . . just made him really comfortable so he couldn't help but feel safe with him. But that was a good thing, right? Although, now that he thought about it . . . wouldn't Reuel have to leave him at the end of the day to go home? That always worried Caius when he made friends, especially since a lot of the time they never came to see him again. Was that going to be the case with Reuel? Probably . . . After all, the man probably had much better things to do than hang around with some little baby. Just thinking about it was really upsetting him but he managed to forget about it for now as he pressed closer to Reuel's warm body, paying more attention to his surroundings. He noticed that a lot of people were greeting Reuel and even kneeled down for him, though Ree just told them to stand up. What was with that? Was he in the arms of a prince or something? . . . No way, Reuel was too pretty to be a prince! Was he a princess maybe?
In what seemed like forever they seemed to finally find a small restaurant that had a very delicious smell coming from it, causing Caius to sit up slightly in Ree's arms to sniff the air, almost already drooling just from the mere smell. "Aaah, yummy!" he gasped as he saw that Reuel was in fact walking into the place that the delicious smell was coming from. As they were greeted by the Chinchou, Caius leaned against Reuel a little more again, just because he wasn't too used to being around new people so it scared him a little but as soon as they were seated and he was sitting on Reuel's lap he instantly looked down at the menu, admiring all the pictures of the food. He couldn't read what they were but he could sure tell that they looked yummy! The first thing he laid his eyes on was something that looked like it would be very sugary and sweet and very bad for him, but Caius didn't really care (or rather didn't know any better), so he simply pointed at the food item. It was a large Belgian waffle that was piled with ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and syrup as well. "This!" Caius said excitedly, jabbing the menu with his index finger a couple times. "I wan' this, Ree!" And if he didn't get that he would honestly be a little upset . . . he was just so hungry and he had never had something like that before in his life.
Moments later a rather cute looking Wooper came by to their table to take their order. "What will it be for you two today, Your Royal Highness?" he asked as he looked down at the two with a friendly smile. Caius immediately spoke up and pointed at the item he wanted on the menu again. "I-I wan' this . . ." the Dratini said shyly, only to see the Wooper smile and nod as he wrote down his order. The waiter took Reuel's order as well before he took the menu with him and left the two alone. Caius waited for a moment before he shifted on Reuel's lap, turning to look up with him with wide, curious eyes. "A-are you . . . a pwincess, Ree?" he asked as he blinked in confusion and curiousity. "Too pwetty for pwince . . . Ree, you must be a pwincess! Everyone was tweating you wike one . . ." It was the only thing that made sense to him.

Reuel wasn’t so sure of what sort of food or meal to get for Caius. He’s still fairly young and all of this might give the babe a terrible stomach ache and not to mention he needs something nutritious. Looking over the menu was soon becoming strenuous with the thoughts of how to take care of Caius just like a parent. He really wasn’t sure of what to do in taking care of him for the day. The young prince couldn’t remember a time when he played with his parents as a child for they were too busy. From what he could remember is his nana spending the most time with him; playing games and learning from her too. Hopefully he could at least be a good friend to the little Dratini since he had become attached to him in such a short amount of time. And also hopefully his parents doesn’t mind if he can play with him since parents would be very protective over their child.
Looking down at the menu it seemed that Caius has already picked something out seeing the eager jab against a picture. “Oh? What is it you want to eat?” He chuckled as he reads the menu over at the desserts. It was a grand waffle dessert with ice cream, berries, whipped cream, and syrup which is a whole lot of sugar for him and quite possibly put him in a sugar coma. “I don’t think that it’s . . .” He began to say no to the waffle dessert but he looked down to see the eager little boy who’s face is lit up; dying to know what the food in the pretty picture would taste like. Judging from the sounds of his stomach earlier he must be famished and he can’t say no to that cute face. “It’s a bad idea at all~ You should ask for it then.” Reuel smiled as he finished his sentence and pet Caius’ head softly. He can’t say no to what he wants and it also has berries which are good. The goldeen just has to make sure that he eats them too besides the waffle and ice cream.
Their waiter had finally arrived to their table as Reuel looks up to see a young Wooper who asked for their order. Reuel was about to speak but he got caught off as the shy little babe spoke up, pointing to the picture in the menu of the waffle dessert. The young prince just had to chuckle on how cute he is and rubs his head softly as his way of saying that he did a good job and he looked up to see the Wooper. “I’ll have the special and water to drink. Also . . . is it possible to ask for maybe a bottle of milk for my young friend here?” His bright blue eyes glanced down to Caius for the Wooper to understand and the young waiter smiled brightly. “Of course! I’ll see what I can do for you, Your Highness.” He was about to bow to him but Reuel quickly raise his hand telling him to stop with a gentle smile on his face. It made the waiter blush a bit for he forgot about that and he walked away to ticket in their order.
The menus were taken from the table and were left alone. Reuel leaned back in his seat to relax but it was only for a mere moment when he heard the small voice of Caius asking him an . . . odd question. So odd and out of the blue that he almost choked on his own saliva in his throat. “A-a princess?!” He exclaimed. But he tried to calm down a bit before he cause a small scene in the restaurant and gain unwanted attention. He hugged the little babe in his arms tightly with a big sheepish smile on his face as he tries to explain clearly to him. “Well . . . I am royalty actually; Prince Reuel Acquarone. My father is a king and my mom is a queen and I have four older brothers and sisters. But I’m a boy and not a girl at all.” Tough to say that for the young man does pamper himself like one and who doesn’t step out of his room unless his golden hair is done right and without his jewels. He now damns himself that he happened to look more feminine. That’s how Caius sees him as he tries to put on a smile for him. “But . . . okay, I am a . . . princess. But just you, okay?” God he really can’t say no to him.
Moments later the wooper waiter finally returned with their drinks and he had found a bottle for Caius filled with some formula to drink as well. It was a lot that he had asked of him to do and so the Goldeen really does appreciate all his hard work. “All right Caius, it’s time for you have something to drink.” He picked him up and cradled the young Dratini in his arms before he reached over to the table and grabbed the bottle for him. He has never bottle fed anyone in his life as he just goes about from what he has seen in public with mothers feeding their young. The bottle felt warm in his hand which was good so it can easily warm up his little body from the cold of Mirror Falls. “Open up Caius.”

If Reuel had tried to stop him from ordering what he wanted, Caius really would have started to cry. He was so hungry and just wanted to eat everything that he could. So when he said that it wasn't a bad idea at all Caius' face did light up, extremely happy that he actually agreed with him. He smiled in delight from the pet on his head he received from his new friend, very pleased with his choice. And then hearing Reuel ask for a bottle of milk for him, Caius seemed to be even more pleased. Milk . . . he hadn't had that in forever! Not since mommy . . . no no no that was not what he should be thinking of again. That was bad! Instead he focused on the fact that he would get yummy, delicious warm milk, since it was one of his favourite drinks. It was so smooth and creamy that he couldn't help but enjoy it so much.
However his mind had wandered again. Reuel really did look like a princess . . . He was so pretty and his hair looked like it would be long and beautiful too. Just like a mommy's hair! And mommies were girls . . . So that must have meant that Reuel was a princess then! It confused poor clueless Caius as Reuel seemed to be stunned by what he had said, feeling his new friend hugging him tightly against him, listening closely to his every word. Oh, so he was royalty! But . . . a prince? That just didn't seem right to young Caius. It amazed him to hear that Reuel had a mommy and daddy, and even four older brothers and sisters! "So many . . ." the Dratini whispered, wishing that he could be as long as Reuel was but he knew that was never going to happen.
Finally it seemed like Reuel did admit that he was a princess, but only to him. That made Caius giggle happily, happy that he had been right all along. "Okie Pwincess Ree!" he said with a bright smile. "You're the pwettiest Pwincess I have ever seen . . . Just wike in the faiwy tale stowies! Mommy used to wead them to me . . . But she hasn't in a looooooong time . . . I haven't seen her in a long time . . . Daddy too . . ." He missed those stories so much and one day hoped that his mom and dad would come back so that they could tell him all about the stories they knew.
His thoughts were gone in an instant though as the wooper came back with the baby bottle filled with warm milk. Caius stared at the bottle in confusion, wondering if he was really supposed to drink from that. Mommy had never fed him milk that way, she had . . . "But Ree . . . Doesn't milk come from mommies?" the little Dratini asked as he stares up at him, suddenly sitting up in his arms a little so he could face Reuel. His hands with go the neckline of the Goldeen's shirt where he pulled it down just enough to reveal the man's chest, his purple eyes immediately traveling down to a little pink bud on his chest. "From here!" Caius said as he poked at the bud with his finger, pouting a little. He wanted milk from there! Without really thinking since honestly Caius didn't know any better, he leaned down to press his lip to Reuel's n****e, giving it a rough suck as he tried to get the supposed milk from it, sucking harder and harder when nothing seemed to come out. The dratini pulled back with a bigger, more upset looking pout on his face, looking up at Ree. "It's broken!"
By now they have gotten quite a bit of attention within the restaurant although Caius was completely oblivious to it. "Ree . . ." he whined, his lips wibbling before he looked over at the bottle he was still holding, staring at it for a long moment before he gave in and grabbed it to bring it closer to him, wrapping his lips around it and sucked on it instead. His eyes widened in surprise and delight as he began to drink the milk, amazed by how delicious it tasted and feeling like he could just drink all of it. As he was about half way done the bottle the wooper waiter finally came back with all their food, setting both plates down in front of them beside each other. Caius pulled his lips off the bottle and looked down at his delicious plate of waffle, eyes widening in amazement. It looks so big and yummy! Completely forgetting about the milk, Caius already was trying to dig into his delicious waffle, but that only lead to his hands getting extremely messy and even though he was a young babe, he still knew his manners. "Ree . . . um . . ." he said, looking back at the goldeen with big eyes, silently asking for him to help him eat. A fork was something foreign to him, as he'd never really used one before. So . . . maybe Reuel would help him out just a little bit more?
