Hopefully this is allowed here....I'm from Staten Island, NY. The small borough/island is surrounded by water and with Hurricane Sandy hitting, we were the hardest hit place by water. There are thousands of people with no power, food, heat, or even homes. The coastal areas are completely destroyed, homes completely washed away by the waves...The National Guard is still pulling bodies from the wreckage, bringing the death toll into the 30's.... What I am asking for is if people, if you haven't, please donate to the Redcross, FEMA, any type of donation would be helped. It doesn't have to be monetary. Clothing, food, toothpaste, toothbrushes, toys for children, batteries, flashlights, anything could be used....Please. As a resident who's family was affected by this horrible disaster, I'm pleading with you to try and help.... These are just a few of the images of the damage that was done by Sandy     Please help if you can....even if it's a prayer for the people who lost their homes or family members.....Every little thing helps. Thank you all

GAH, sweetheart I'm in Brooklyn! Do you need anything, clothing, food, shelter?? I'm helping out everyone I can with stuff and since my mom and my sis are away, we have an extra sleeping place. Is everything alright with you??

I don't need anything....I was one of the lucky ones that's far away enough from the shore. We've got all of our family and a few friends with us because we finally got power back and heat. So, we're okay...I'm just thinking of the people who lost everything. I hope everything is all right with you and it's an amazing thing you're doing for the people that need it. heart
