Name: Barloch
Base: Human
Type of Tekimi: Mythological
DNA Strand 1: Lou Carcolh (N/A) - (INFO)
DNA Strand 2: Humpback Anglerfish (Melanocetus johnsonii) - (INFO)
Traits:
LOU CARCOLH -- Stalk eyes (Lou Carcolh is generally made out to be a massive snail and snails are recognizable for their unique eyes!) -- Slime (or the ability to leave a slime trail, that is) -- Controllable mouth tentacles
MELANOCETUS JOHNSONII -- Lure -- Sharp/elongated teeth -- Dark skin
Physical Appearance: OPTIONAL.
Flaws:
===== Lazy/Procrastinator: Barloch's speed could be described as 'in league with the rate paint dries'. He is happiest lounging around doing little to nothing at all and can't be bothered to do much past what he wants to do at that exact moment. Attempts to move him, threats, even tearing your hair out won't deter him and he's more than happy to watch you do so - it's amusing as all hell. He is also an A+ procrastinator and will leave things the way they are or undone for so long that one would be better off just doing it themselves without even so much as looking toward him to consider asking.
===== Greedy: No matter if it's food, friends, books, or the finer things in life, Barloch wants it all and he wants it all to himself. This doesn't extend to 'if I can't have it, no one will' territory, but his greediness does extend to 'I will inwardly fume and be a grouch until something else comes along that replaces this thing I currently lust after'. Prepare for a Tekimi who has a LOT of random crap in his room that he wanted, got, and won't let go of. At least it's all sort of kept neat and tidy.
===== Gluttonous: As he is made of two things that seem to live to eat - a giant snail with mouth tentacles that stretch for miles and a deep sea fish with a giant mouth in which to eat whatever floats in front of it - it's no lie when I say Barloch is a glutton. The fastest you'll see this Tekimi move is when it's mealtime, because he wants to be the first at the table; and he'll be the last to leave it too. No matter what the food is or where it came from, how long it took to prepare, etc, Barloch will eat it, more than likely enjoy it, and continue to inhale it until he's made himself as sick as a dog.
===== Sarcastic: He doesn't have physical strengths (probably) but Barloch has a sharp tongue and the mind to use it. Although he's not the sort to get angry, there's always room for sarcasm when it's appropriate. On occasion this might be because he's feeling witty (when he's actually not in practice) rather than because he means it, but most of the time this occurs by a slip of the tongue.
===== Bias: Although one of his virtues is 'accepting', Barloch still maintains a degree of bias like any sentient creature. His, however, leans more toward location, activities, and inanimate things rather than his fellow Tekimi or the scientists. For example, being the quiet and stationary type that he is, Barloch will vote with the one who wants to have a movie marathon at home rather than the one who wants to go out clubbing. For another, he will always pick a cool place (damp or dry) over a warm place (also damp or dry). As amicable as he is, his comfort is high up on his priorities list and comfort has to rule out every so often!
Virtues:
===== Patient: To counteract Barloch's bump-on-a-log tendencies, this Tekimi has a saint's patience. If he has a temper in him, it rarely - if ever - shows. Nothing seems to rankle him, even things that would otherwise annoy a general public, and he can easily take his time on a task or wait out a duration of time without fidgeting no matter the length. His motto is most assuredly 'good things come to those who wait' and he'll happily state as much.
===== Levelheaded/Calm: In addition to his patience, Barloch is a levelheaded and calm individual. This might extend to the point where some might view him as apathetic, but in truth this guy simply does not fuss over things big or small and sees no reason to do such things. In a time of hardship or fear he'll be the benevolent leader or go-to guy for smart advice about how to proceed with a topic. Sure his advice might not always be spot on - he reads a lot but doesn't know everything after all - but at least it will be said in a clear and even-spoken tone of voice.
===== Accepting: Big, small; short, tall; red, yellow, black, white, or green with blue and pink polka dots no matter how you look or act or function Barloch will accept you from the get go until you prove to him you aren't worth his time. He is not a picky fellow, and his group of friends are bound to be a gaggle of differences. He might not be the easiest to get along with sometimes, but he's at least willing to give you a chance.
===== Witty: Being bookish to a fault has brought about a sense of wittiness in Barloch. Although unassuming, he is able to, can, and will sneak a colorful quip or clever snippet into a conversation at the right time when he feels it is necessary. Sure it can occasionally backfire - someone might not have a sense of humor for instance - but others might find that sense of timing and dryly put wording endearing, right?
===== Quiet: Levelheaded, patient, and willing to give advice when called upon (and even when not) seem to work the best when the one who is all these things is the soft-spoken type. Barloch is just this. You won't find this Tekimi hanging from the rafters or running down the halls screeching at the top of his voice, and that could be a nice change of pace for some. He keeps to himself most of the time and he never, ever plays his stereo louder than he can hear, so you won't ever have to worry about the noise.
General Attitude: ((Copypasta'd from my concept contest entry; if you would like me to expand upon it to include the other virtues and flaws, just say the word!)) A strange combination of unerring laziness and boundless patience, Barloch is everything anyone could ever want in a terrible roommate procrastinator. One part giant tentacle mouth hors d'oeuvres, one part deep sea fish with its own personal reading lamp, Barloch is entirely a bump on a log. He enjoys being as stationary as possible, letting the world pass by while he watches with a book from a shadowy couch, filled bathtub, or some other comfortable place. He sees no purpose in rushing around like a chicken without a head and is of the opinion that doing so is no fun at all. Why rush hither and thither when all good things come to those who wait? The latter half of the question is Barloch's lifelong motto and on the plus side he has the patience of a saint, rarely - if ever - getting rankled by things big or small. This patience even stretches into the territory of levelheadedness and Barloch is able to keep his wits about him when things are going sour or the pressure is on. Despite being the one sitting on his a** through the world ending, at least he'd be the one giving out sensible advice on how to survive the fallout.
Diverting from that, Barloch is something of a greedy fellow, especially when it comes to food. Sure he might be lazy as sin in general but when it comes to meals he'll be the first at the table, knife and fork in hand and ready to fight for the first and last bites. He LOVES food - to the point where eating to levels over full is not uncommon - and is not picky in the slightest when it comes to it...or other things. He's very much accepting of all creeds and cultures and any and all friends, makeshift family, and lovers Barloch has are liable to be a motley crew of all shapes, sizes, colors, etc. Variety is the spice of life after all, and who knows more about spices than a gluttonous, gelatinous gourmand?
Lastly, this Tekimi is the quiet type. Sure he'll give honest advice when asked, ramble on about how the best cooking takes the longest to prepare, and won't be a total loser loner, but he is quite soft spoken - which is a plus when dishing out that sensible advice mentioned in the above paragraphs. Both of the creatures that gave their DNA to make him aren't exactly famous for making sounds and when push comes to shove, Barloch prefers the shadowed and the quiet to the bright and the loud. A dimly lit room, a couch, and maybe a companion or two when a book just won't do; that is his perfect place. Keep it cool, keep it calm, and keep it down; that's your recipe for a happy Barloch. Just fold gently so the ingredients mix properly.
Interests: Barloch's interests lie in the realm of food, books, and movies for the most part. He's come to know these things best, but that's not to say he's totally limited. Barloch has a lust for knowledge and eats that up like he does his food. He might want to remain on his bed, couch, or current butt-print formation while doing so, but he is interested in learning about as much as he can no matter the topic; though some would garner his interest more than others like science, literature, and mathematics. He also has a developing interest in games of the board and card variety but given he has yet to meet anyone, this interest is limited and barely begun to take hold.
Likes: Food, sleeping in, cool places, damp places, water, books and reading, quiet spots, movies, learning, people watching, doing things at his own pace, the finer things in life
Dislikes: Being rushed, heat, direct sunlight, having things kept from him, not getting what he wants, not being asked for his opinion on matters, the color yellow, getting things stuck in his teeth, shirts that you have to pull over your head to put on

I ... no actually I don't have anything else to add to that.
I'm picturing him putting on shirts and getting his eyes stuck in them though. Ehehehehehehe. That is way too giggle worthy at the moment. 83

Yes, I'm going to be adding him to the profile page once we straighten everything out, get back to streaming (arting), that kind of thing.
Should be soon. Sometime within the next week.
