The name’s Grant. Samuel Grant. In the year 2009, I’ve uncovered an ancient artifact with seven indentations in it for housing jewels known as the Karma Lunari, which means Goddess Luna’s fortune; for it has the power to do great good or cataclysmic evil.
I was instructed by one of the three keepers of this legendary source of power to put together a team to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. On the road to keeping that from happening, my sons, Max and Willis, and I have thwarted countless attempts to gain possession of the jewels. The first of the two to come for them were Celsior, king of the ice and snow; and Farenhart, with dominion over fire.
Eventually, more and more villains rained down from outer space, looking for them as well and we had our hands full; but as we got now enemies, we received now allies.
Together, we managed to defeat our adversaries, keep the jewels safe, and save the world, but a couple years after we all separated, we made a startling discovery: the fight wasn’t over.
Chunks of rock fell from the sky all over the world covered in a black light. As they hit the ground and crack open a liquid substance flows out like lava and takes humanoid form.
In the US, the marines and the air force all dispatch to take them down; the fighters in the air try to shoot down the falling space junk before they even have a chance to land, while the soldiers on the ground combat the beings that have already emerged and begun to attack innocent people.
The beings used telekinesis to lift up various objects like cars, mailboxes, etc. etc.; they even tore up parts of the sidewalks and the asphalt as they softened up the military.
Just when all seemed lost, an unknown wave of bullets and missiles the size of pens flew at the monsters from the air and took out each of them like bowling pins; the soldiers looked to the skies and after seconds of searching, they see metallic purple man hovering over them.
“MEGAN, answer me this, why is it that a bunch of professional tough guys with superior firepower are easily outsmarted by extraterrestrials? It happens in all the movies and apparently, it happens in real life too.”
The army was run by someone named Diamanos. She was a ruthless space pirate; probably meant to be Seductra’s replacement or something. I fought against her army to no end. Soon, she took over the entire planet of Gaia and I felt myself experiencing some Déjà vu; it was the Omni-Gaia all over again.
Some of you may think I took the coward’s way out, but fleeing the planet was my only option. For to beat this new enemy… I was going to need a team. So I rounded up my sons, as well as Caitlin, Alex and Phoebe; Meerlix and Wulf are worlds away and can’t be relied on, so that leaves us with two spots to fill. Aside from Caitlin, Alex, Phoebe, Starla, my sons, and I, who else is there who would risk their lives for our world? And who else is there that is worthy of the powers of the bad moon?

Operation W.A.S.P. movie

Inside Diamanos’ base half an hour after Samuel’s escape, a man dressed in gray from his neck down to his feet with a black hood and purple hypnotizing disc covering his face marches in past the soldiers, whom were on their way out, on his way towards the war room, where he meets a Caucasian woman with long, black hair, orange eyes, red pupils, and green makeup around her eyes wearing an almost see-through black top, which starts at her cleavage and makes its way down to her crotch area, a pair of black boots that come up to her calves and a long, black cape, which extends down to her feet.
“Hyptizmos, what do you have to report?” the woman asked.
“Moments ago, I’ve detected several energy signatures aboard a rather large vessel, which was leaving the atmosphere; one of them seemed to belong that guy in the purple suit.”
“I want you to take a handful of our best warriors and hunt them down.”
“Yes, mistress Diamanos…” Hyptizmos said.
“I want the source of his powers; they may be the very thing that can tip the odds in our favor.”
Out in space way past Mars, there was a big, dark blue ship shaped like a grasshopper. Onboard it were Samuel, Caitlin, Alex, Max, Phoebe, and Willis; Planet Gaia’s last hope for winning this war.
“Samuel? Normally, I’m one for adventure, but where exactly are we going?” Phoebe asked.
“We need all the help we can get if we’re to take back Gaia, so the only way I know is to reunite the nine medallions. The ones we got to keep aren’t powerful enough on their own; not even with the energy source I’ve given them.” he explained.
“Well, how do we get them back? Of course there’s Lumindemia, Starla’s home world, but what about the rest? It’s not like we know where Zierian is.” Alex said.
“And once we find him, who do we get to replace Meerlix as Blue Wolf Ranger? What, do we have tryouts?” Max answered.
“Well I imagine Starla might know a way; she’s been to almost every rock in space, she might know where he resides.” Willis explained. “We can ask her when we get there.”
“And how do we get to her world? We’re gonna ask for directions?”
“You what, Alex…?” Samuel asked before he made a dramatic pause; and with a strange look in his eyes, he says his next statement with pauses in between some of his words, “That’s not a bad idea…” he mans the controls in the bridge and sets a course out of the solar system.
Their first stop was the aqua planet of Fluufago (pronounced: Floo-fuh-go). The planet was mostly water with tiny islands about the size of Manhattan or Hawaii, the inhabitants of this planet resembled the Penguins of earth, except they were blue and possessed gills, which allow them to stay underwater longer than the average penguin. They still possessed lungs, which take over once the gills close up shutters on a window.
After donning their ranger suits, Samuel, Alex, and Phoebe eject into the atmosphere and slowly descend like a comet.
“Planet seems deserted, Samuel.” Alex replied as he looked around at the sand, the burnt trees and buildings around them.
“I just don’t get it; scans are showing signs of life down there.”
“Well, there’s nothing here, but sand, grass, and something that looks like… palm trees?” Phoebe said confusedly.
“Trees usually mean oxygen, so I guess the atmosphere’s breathable.”
“Wait, Alex, don’t take off your helmet. You don’t know for sure. What if these trees survive on something other than oxygen?”
“Phoebe is right, Alex; besides, MEGAN’s picked up something on her sensors. Our target… is down there.” Samuel said, pointing at the deep, blue ocean. “Hope you can swim.”
“I was on the swim team in high school; stand aside.” Alex dives in first, and then Samuel, then Phoebe.
The suits acted like scuba diving gear as they kept the water out and provided oxygen; where they got the air from, even I don’t know. In order to communicate, they activated com systems.
“Perhaps we should split up, cover more ground.”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea. We don’t really know the area. We could get lost.”
“Relax; during our two year cooling off period, I’ve taken the liberty of installing probing devices into the suit. We just launch a few and… the image feeds back into our helmets.” Out of the left of Samuel’s chest came a small, oval-shaped device that looked like a guppy with a red, blinking light between its gill and right eye. As it swam around, it sent out a light, which couldn’t be seen by the human eye and that light was followed by an echo, which bounced off the walls, the floor, the fish, and everything down there as it fed a sonar image into the readout in Samuel’s helmet; Phoebe and Alex deployed the same thing and got the same results.
Phoebe takes the west, Alex heads east, and Samuel takes the northern direction.
After an hour of searching, they began to doubt Samuel’s confirmation.
“Still no sign of life; of than the array of fish and undersea life; How about you, Phoebe?” Alex asked.
“Nothing so far. Samuel, are you sure your readings are correct, because I have yet to find anyone?”
“I’m positive. MEGAN’s never wrong about this sorta thing.”
“Maybe she’s malfunctioning from being so far from home.”
“Hold up, I think I got something… boy, he’s closing in fast, Alex. On your six!”
“Oh s**t!” Alex sidesteps and the unknown entity zooms past him like a bullet; Alex manages to grab it by the foot and slows it down long enough to make out what it was; a blue penguin in a silver-like armor with weird, circular tubes on its shoulders, which seemed to rotate in every direction. The tubes take aim at Alex and make him release his grip as they hit him with a yellow beam that had a force, which equaled to that of a cannonball.
Alex does back flip in the water while his enemy swims a few yards away and turns around to make another pass.
Afterwards, Phoebe and Samuel attempt make their way towards Alex, but are stopped as more penguin-looking guys ambush them from behind; one of them shouted something in a weird dialect of clicks and honks, which Samuel and Phoebe didn’t understand, but they put their hands up anyways.
“Could these be the inhabitants?” Samuel asked.
“We’ll soon find out.”
The creatures drag our heroes off to one of 20 large undersea domes, one of which had a large 3-story building with a clock up on the roof in the middle of a small city; a statue stood in front, which said something in a weird language. The only world that seemed to translate into English was the word “Fluufagon”, which was the name of the planet.
Meanwhile, back up in orbit around the planet.
Caitlin was pacing back and forth, while Willis was at the controls.
“What’s taking them so long?” Caitlin asked. “They should’ve been back by now.
“I’m sure they’re fine, Caitlin, don’t worry.”
“Maybe one of us should go down there and…”
“No way, dad told us to stay here.” Willis said.
“Warning; unknown vessel incoming…” MEGAN alerted.
“They followed us.”
“Yeh, no kidding…” Max takes a look at the holographic projection unit; the one with the black screen and green wireframe on glass tabletop in the center of the bridge and notices a scorpion ship without the freakishly long tail. Out of its large pincers came 4 inch long red laser beams aimed for Willis and Caitlin, which shook the craft up on impact.
“Turrets 6 and 2 are down.” MEGAN informed.
“Fire the rest of them,” Willis ordered.
“Firing…” MEGAN repeated as she positioned the lasers for a counter-offensive.
“It’ll take some time to get through their shields.”
Back down on the planet; deep below sea level.
“For the last time, we’re not here to terrorize you. All we want is information.”
“More like spying,” the leader said in reply to Samuel’s explanation.
“Look, it seems we’ve got a common enemy. I’m guessing Diamanos’ forces are the ones, who did that to your planet’s surface, am I right?”
“Yes.”
“Well, all I’m asking is that you give us some directions to this planet called Lumindemia, so we can find our friend and together, we can help rid the universe of Diamanos once and for all.”
“If you have a star map, I’ll show you…”
After pointing it out on the map, the leader of his people escorts Samuel, Phoebe, and Alex to the surface; from there, they receive a distress signal from Caitlin and the others.
“Samuel, Alex, Phoebe, can you hear me? We’re under attack. Taking heavy damage here. We need help.”
Samuel could also hear the faint voice of Max as he stands at the controls and says, “We’re being hailed.” Just before the momentary cease-fire.
“MEGAN, patch me through; I wanna hear what’s being said.”
“Doing so now, sir…”
“And just who might you be?”
“My name is hyptizmos, I am one of Diamanos’ top generals. I have but one simple request.”
“Go ahead then. If it’s a reasonable one, we’ll do whatever we can to appease you.”
“For some odd reason, my mistress has suddenly become infatuated with the power source you possess; the one you used to decimate most of our troops with back on your beloved planet.”
“Tell Diamamos it’s not for sale…” Samuel broke his silence.
“Who’s that?” Hyptizmos asked.
“MEGAN, switch to conference mode please.”
Samuel’s face appears onscreen beside Hyptizmos, while a holographic image of Hyptizmos emanates from his chest like a movie projector without the screen.
“It doesn’t matter much to me how I obtain it; I can just blast you out of the stars, sift through the rubble and pry it from your mangled bodies and…”
“Well then that doesn’t give us much reason to say yes then, now does it?”
“Have it your way then.” He ends the transmission; onscreen in our heroes’ ship a bunch of small, red dots separate from a bigger dot, which was classified as Hyptizmos’ ship.
“You got loads of enemy troops descending on your location right now; get out of there!”
“We can’t just leave these guys; if only you were down here you could see the damage they caused.”
“Well if we stay here any longer, we won’t have to be down there to see it.”
“By my calculations, the shield will hold for another ten minutes,” MEGAN explained.
“That’s all I’ll need…” Samuel says vaguely as he takes his right hand, and places it behind his back; his weapon materializes from out of nowhere. The holster wraps around his shoulder and waist as he unsheathes the blade and takes off to intercept the unknown entities dropping in from the sky.
Alex does the same thing, except he puts his arm at his side instead of behind his back; his weapon, the scorpion saber shows up out of nowhere in the similar fashion and he unsheathes it.
Samuel holds out the palm of his left hand and hits the enemy with one shot each while barrel-rolling to avoid the burning debris; the ones that managed to evade him, he follows them and takes a slash at them with his sword. The ones that manage to make it to the ground, Phoebe and Alex took care of with the help of the Fluufagons.
Phoebe spirals clockwise, takes out a couple of enemies, then spirals counter-clockwise; knocking down another opponent with a frontal kick before getting shoved on her face as an enemy strikes her from behind. At that time, Alex finishes up on an enemy and turns to Phoebe, who was on the ground, and attacks the guy who attacked her with a laser blast from his palm.
Moments later, Alex de-morphs and uses his shape-shifting powers to turn into other animals, which gave him an advantage over his enemies. During the fight some of the Fluufagons, who were in his way, jump back as he takes a swipe and knocks the enemy down like bowling pins while transformed into a bear.
A few Fluufagons line up single-file; the ones in front back flip onto the head of the guy behind until they stood as tall as their opponent and then the guy on the top leaps forward, butting him in the chest with his head. As the guy stumbled back, a single Fluufagon slides in like a penguin on snow and trips him from behind.
Alex, who approaches the three penguins, lowers to their level and holds up his left hand. “Alright, high-five!”
The middle one approached and leans forward, slapping his right fin against Alex’s hand.
Over on the other side, Phoebe lands a couple jabs and an uppercut, then throws her Mantis Boomerang, and takes out a few bad guys; after her boomerang returned, she holds it behind her back and then tosses it in the air to distract the rest before she moves in. she spirals and lands a back elbow, spirals in the opposite direction and lands a palm punch to the chin, and finishes off with a spiraling kick before catching her boomerang.
Samuel dive-bombs in and pulls up before he becomes a smear on the ground; as he makes his way towards his team and their allies, he swerves left and right. Once close enough, he lands on his feet and joins the fight. “Everyone, stay close to me!” he shouts.
They huddle in next to, standing back to back.
“No no, closer than that.”
They literally hug their bodies against his armor as he takes something from out of the compartment on his right wrist and throws it into the air. After it gets a couple of feet in the air, the device emits a powerful shockwave half the size of a nuclear missile, which destroys the rest of the enemy soldiers in one devastating blast while leaving everyone in the center of it unscathed.
Onboard his ship, Hyptizmos pounds his fists into the console with anger, “he’s really trying my patience, this guy. What’s that saying that their planet has? ‘If you want something right, do it yourself?’ that’s exactly what I’m going to do; take care of the matter myself! PREPARE A LAUNCH POD FOR TRANSPORT!”
“Heads up, guys, you got incoming.” Caitlin said.
“Readings on this one seems a lot stronger.”
A giant, swirling, purple hypnotizing disc marked Hyptizmos’ entrance as he appears in front of Samuel, Phoebe, Alex, and the army of Fluufagons.
“It’s pointless… to fight; you’ll either become one of us; in time, or you’ll be nothing but the dirt under our feet as we conquer the whole galaxy one planet at a time.”
“Uh-huh... Can we just get this over with already? You attack, we kick your a**, we leave and we do the same to your boss.”
“I’m afraid this is as far you’ll get.” Hyptizmos activates his hypno mask and turns Samuel’s team against him.
“Caitlin, Max, Willis…? A lil help here, please.” Samuel said through his communicator.
“Willis, there’s got to be something we can do.”
“Why ask me all the time?”
“Because you’re the brains…” Max replied smugly.
Meanwhile down on the ground; Alex takes a swing as Samuel, who ducks, dodges, and finally grabs him by the arm. With several knees to the joint followed by the bending backwards of Alex’s arm, he takes his sword away. After it falls out of his hand and lands blade first into the sand, Samuel performs a back flip and picks it up; putting it in its secondary mode, he grabs Alex by the ankle and flips him. As he spins diagonally in the air, Phoebe slides under him as she dons her ranger form and throws a couple of left and right swings at Samuel, who jumps back and lands an elbow to her chin; it hurt Samuel just as much as it hurt Phoebe.
“Alright, enough of this; MEGAN, deploy flares!” She deploys the flares in his suit on command and temporarily blinds his friends long enough for him to make his move. Once he smashed the mask, Phoebe and Alex snapped out of their trance.
Hyptizmo lets out a long, drawn out, “NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
While Samuel replies, “Your act’s over, bub.” Just before they summon the WASP stinger Mark I to finish him off.
Hyptizmos limps out of the explosion moments later, clutching his arm. “Don’t think for ONE SECOND that this is over…” he orders his crew to beam him aboard again moments before Samuel, Phoebe, and Alex say their goodbye’s and board their ship.
“Orders, sir…?” one of the crewmen said to Hyptizmos.
“Bring us in position to fire the main guns…”
“BRING HER ABOUT, MEN!”
Onboard Samuel’s ship
“Okay, we have our course, and I’m plugging it into the map right now.”
“Samuel…?” Alex said.
“What?”
“We got company.”
“Hyptizmos again…?”
“Who else?” Alex said sarcastically.
“Aft turrets are still damage. By the time we get in position to fire, he’ll have us for lunch.”
“I suggest a full retreat.”
“Good idea, Phoebe. We’ll lose him in that storm cloud; full speed ahead, Max.” Samuel commanded.
“Samuel, I may not be an astronomer, but I’m pretty sure that’s not a cloud.”
“Sensors indicate are large amount of metal objects with high explosive rate.”
“You mean like a minefield?” Willis simplified.
“A m-m-m-m-minefield?!” Caitlin said in shock.
“Maintain course, son.”
“Samuel, are you crazy? We’ll be turned to scrap metal.”
“There aren’t a lot of options here; unless you wanna get out in your ranger form and take ‘him’ on.”
“You know, I’m startin’ to get the strangest sense of Déjà vu…” Phoebe explained.
Back onboard Hyptizmos’ ship
“Sir, they’re heading into The Drim minefield.”
“They’re either incredibly stupid or desperate.”
“Should we follow them?”
“No… find us a way around.”
“Aye aye, sir.”
“They’re turning away…” Max said to Samuel.
“Good riddance…” Caitlin said to Max.
“Kill the aft thrusters, turn this ship about, and activate the bow thrusters full reverse; and open the cargo bay doors.”
“Opening…” MEGAN replied.
“Samuel, what are you doing?”
“You’ll see.”
As they travel the minefield in reverse, cargo door gaping like a humpback whale feeding, they collect as many of the mines as they could while dodging the ones closest to their wings.
“MEGAN, any sign of that Hyptizmos yet?”
“Being this close, the mines are wreaking havoc with my sensors, so it’s hard to tell.”
“Samuel, do you think you have enough souvenirs yet?”
“You’re right, this should suffice; turn us around again and maintain course out of the field.”
“Sir, I’m picking up a faint energy signature approaching from below us, matching our velocity.”
“Alex, engage turbo boost; Willis, get to the cargo hold and start dumping when I give the word.”
“Hmm… they think they can outrun me?” Hyptizmos said as he got closer and closer.
“Sir, they’re deploying something from their ship; small, orb looking things.”
Upon closer observation, he sees the objects for what they truly are. “Evasive actions now!” he barked; but even as they turn to avoid, it was too late. The explosions from each mine slowly damage the ship; starting with the engines and ending with most of the hull being fractured.
Willis looks on as Hyptizmos’ ship just drifts off just before he closes the door.
“Come in, Hyptizmos, report…” Diamanos said over the radio while he and his crew were coughing from the smoke coming from some of their instruments.
“Hyptizmos, come in for Jorb sake!”
“This is Hyptizmos; the target has gotten away. He’s cleverer than he looks, mistress. He destroyed my ship.”
“Hold off pursuit; I’ll let one of my other generals in the area pick up from there.”
About an hour later in the mess hall on Samuel’s ship…
“Lot of things have changed since we all went our separate ways; with Zierian and Wulf gone the ranger powers haven’t been used in a while and I had to determine an alternative power source.
“Uh-huh…” Phoebe said smugly.
“I was not going to reenergize them myself; I figured that out the hard way, remember?” Samuel said.
“Ended up in a two day coma or something; which I recall was the way you obtained the purple ranger powers.”
“I wish the way I did that was a bit less painful. I’m still jittery whenever I plug in an appliance.”
Phoebe chucked.
“But enough about me, anything new in your life?”
“Still same old, same old.”
“Ever… miss the life of a rodeo champion?”
“Sometimes yeah…”
“You know, Max was a big fan of yours.”
“Dad…” Max said, embarrassed, as he walked towards the table after filling his plate.
“What? You were.” He whispers at Phoebe, “He had your posters plastered all over his bedroom wall.”
“Aww c’mon…”
“Bradshaw has actually overheard him talking about plans to marry you someday, and how his life was meaningless without you, and…” Samuel was cut off as Max dropped his tray on the table and covered his mouth.
“Max it’s cool,” Phoebe reassured him. “To tell you the truth, I just don’t see myself being wed anytime soon.”
“I understand.”
“So what about you?” Samuel directed his attention at Caitlin, who was just about to sit down next to Max.
“What about me?”
“Any interesting stories you wanna share about you and Alex?”
“Well, there was this one time with some wealthy Chinese entrepreneur and a priceless collection of those warrior statue things that were lifted from his home in broad daylight. The guys that stole them were pros. They never allowed themselves to get caught on camera at any point during the robbery. It was next to impossible to track them down.”
“So how’d you do it?” Phoebe asked.
“Well it seemed one of the men accidentally cut off a lock of his hair when handling one of the statues with a bladed weapon; After analyzing the sample, we were able to make a positive ID and link him to known associates, but that was the easy part; the hard part was how to get the statues away from them…”
Alex steps in and finishes where she left off, “The thieves were hauling the goods in a semi-truck, which was halfway out of this city called Qujiang heading south. The guys escorting the truck were a bit trigger-happy and would lay down at the first whisper of trouble…” Alex lies out on his back in the middle of the road in the form of a turtle, waiting on the truck like a lion waits to attack its prey in the savannah.
The sound of the horn alerted him to how close it was and Alex prepared to spring into action.
The truck in front of the primary target drives right over him first and Alex patiently waits for the objective; then he quickly turns into his human form and latches onto the underside. Using quick thinking, he drops a rolling explosive device, which attaches itself underneath the armed escort at the rear and detonates; the guys in front didn’t take notice to it as they were too busy watching the front.
As they come up on a crossroad, a mysterious motorcyclist comes at the truck full throttle and lines up behind. Timing the jump perfectly, the cyclist jumps on the back of the trailer, but before climbing up to the top, she opens it to verify the contents; 12 large Terracotta statues lined up neatly in two rows.
Meanwhile, Alex slowly climbs up and shimmies over towards the driver side. He opens the door and after transforming into a bear, he grips the driver with his huge bear claw and pulls him out along with part of the seatbelt. The guy on the passenger side takes notice of him and so do the guy in the truck in front of him. Alex took care of the passenger while Caitlin uses her laser vision to disable the turret.
“How exactly did you get the statues back to their rightful owner?”
“I’m getting to that,” Alex explained.
“We have arrived at Lumindemia,” MEGAN interrupted.
“Guess the story will have to wait.”
Later on the bridge
“Willis, are you able to get anything?”
“It seems as if the capital is under attack, but I can’t determine by whom.”
“We’d better get down there then and lend a hand.”
“Uh…. Yeah, I forgot to mention. Your suits need time to recharge, so Phoebe, Alex, and I need to sit back. Sorry; if I knew of an element that could provide sustainable energy…”
“Even if you had done so, we still couldn’t all go.”
“Yeah, we have to leave some people behind to watch the ship; MEGAN can’t do it alone.”
Max, Willis, and Caitlin volunteered.
“MEGAN, activate the ship’s cloaking device.”
“By the roaring flame, Red Wolf Ranger!” Max yells.
“I call on the power of… Green Wolf Ranger!” Willis said out loud.
“Power of the sun, Orange Wolf Ranger!” Caitlin shouts
They head for the launch pods and base-jump into the atmosphere towards the brightest city on the dark side of the planet. The closer they got, the prettier it looked. However, outside the walls was not as good as there were small fires all around and bullets flying all over.
“Caitlin, at your 9 o’clock; watch out!” Max warned.
Caitlin’s response time was impeccable as she deflects the large ball of purple light hurtling towards her like a cannonball; the explosion it gave off knocked her within the city walls somewhere.
“No!” Willis cried out, but just as he goes to help her, he is hit with another ball of light, which knocks him clear into the next zone.
Max dodges the next wave as best as he could via barrel-roll before he fires back using the proton cannons on his palms, but gets blasted inside the city along with Caitlin. As he hits the ground, he is knocked out of his ranger form. He slowly slips in and out of consciousness as the enemy pounds on the gates to get in and the inhabitants of the city approach from the opposite direction.
“Check him…” a familiar female voice said among the other beings completely shrouded in a rainbow of light.
“Seems a bit worse for wear, but I can’t tell for sure. This thing doesn’t work on automatons.”
“Let me have a look, I’ve dealt with machines before.”
“Wait, I know that voice,” Willis replied. “Fekete?”
“You again?!”
“You know this guy, ma’am?”
“Dated my sister… his name’s…. Wallace, isn’t it?”
“It’s Willis.”
“Whatever.”
“When’d you get out of prison?”
“You get used to it. You should try it sometime. In fact, would you like a guided tour?” she said sarcastically.
“Hey, don’t take it out on me just because your sis wouldn’t go along with you framing her for something she didn’t do.”
“Guys…”
The whole time they argued, the enemy pounded at the door, weakening its structure.
“Hey guys, can you continue this later?! We got Drim foot soldiers busting in!”
“We got what?” Willis asked confusedly.
“Oh right, you and your friends are planetary rangers.”
“What are Drim?”
The Lumindemian soldiers hold up their arms, palm facing forward as they prepare to fire.
“Seriously, guys, what are they?”
“You’ll see soon enough. Just keep your eyes on that gate.”
Willis wields his blaster.
One by one, dents appeared like somebody taking a sledgehammer to a blast door until finally the gate was slightly ajar; then after a couple more hits, it came off the hinges completely, revealing the cause being result of the tiny, dome-headed dinosaur, the Pachycephalosaurus.
“Open fire!!!” Fekete ordered.
As the enemy falls, another wave consisting of Velociraptors leaps forward and pulls blaster out of their back mount holsters.
Willis and the others fall back to a less open area and take cover behind the trees, rocks, signpost; whatever they could find and go on the defensive.
Meanwhile, Fekete stuck to offense. She breaks from cover, both arms held out and fires at anything within several inches of her with a wide variety of poses as she shot balls of light from her fists.
As a couple of raptors take shots at her, she performs a roll and gets in close. From there, she performs a karate chop to the hip, rises up, turns to the other raptor, and throws a high kick to the side of the face; the first one quickly aims its gun and fires back, but Fekete manages to sidestep the blast. She then karate chops him in the arm and he releases his weapon into the air. At that time, Fekete knocks him down with a frontal kick, catches his gun and opens fires another wave of raptors.
After a few minutes, the wave slowly changes from velociraptors to the dinosaurs known as Galamimus; unlike the raptors, these dinosaurs possessed no exterior armor whatsoever. They rush in like wild animals, killing everything in their path; Fekete uses up the round in the enemy’s gun on two of them before she reverted to using her power over light; a couple other soldiers join her as she jumps 5 or 6 inches into the air, spiral like a ballerina onstage performing, and come back down moving their arms in a sweeping motion as they face sideways, releasing a wave of light as thin as a wood plank, which slides diagonally across the ground, sweeping some of the Galamimus back out the gate.
Seconds after being pushed out, a wave of raptors rush in an open fire, slowly breaking down the wall of light. Before they could destroy it completely, Caitlin and Max come in; Max uses his super strength and tosses Caitlin into the air; Caitlin uses her laser vision on a couple of them before coming down and landing in Max’s arms.
“Guys, look out behind you!” Willis speeds in at the speed of sound and tackles the Galamimus coming up from the rear.
“There’s too many, we need to fall back!”
“Blow the bridge so they can’t follow.”
“I’ll take care of that.” Max steps out and with a single punch from his left hand he crumbles the bridge within an instant like a wrecking ball hitting a building.
“Fekete, we’ve just received word the enemy’s going after the Mother Light.”
“We’ve got to stop them.”
“What’s the mother light?” Max asks
The others ignore him
“Some of us have to stay here and guard the palace.”
“What’s the Mother Light?” Caitlin asked in place of Max.
“The source of all our powers; without it, we can’t harness energy from the sun and stars to have at our disposal.” Fekete answered.
“You guys are gonna need some extra muscle; let me come along.”
“You sure about this, Max?”
“I’m going with you…”
“No, Caitlin. You stay here and help them.”
“Well we’re going with you.” Fekete explains as she points to half of her army.
“Lead the way…” Alex then takes out his morpher and says, “By the roaring flame, Red Wolf Ranger!” before he takes off, he turns to Fekete, “Just make sure keep them from shooting me down this time.” He takes the skies faster than a bullet and heads west past the vast amount of Drim and Lumindemians fighting to the death below.
With the enemy firing at him from below, Max and Fekete dodge using a series of barrel-rolls while Max drops flares.
The leader of a squadron of the Drim shouts up at him as he passes by in its own dialect, which was a series of hisses, growls, and clicks; then it turns to one of its soldiers and gives it an order.
Several miles later, as Max and Fekete fly through the air, not worrying about incoming fire, MEGAN warns Max of unknown enemies approaching from behind.
Max looks back at a bunch of Velicoraptors sitting in some sort of windowless cockpit on the back of Pterodactyls, “Fekete? You might wanna look behind you.”
Fekete swerves right when she sees a couple balls of energy fly at her from the barrels attached to the flying reptile’s neck; Max swerves left, then right again, and then flies in low before turning around and taking the flock head-on.
Wave after wave of blue light balls fly past, which max narrowly avoids as he makes his way up to the first flying dinosaur and decks it in the jaw and gets it angry enough to snap at him like a dog after it’s been provoked; Max flies backwards to avoid its long beak as the same time the Raptor flying the Pterodactyl takes out its blaster and fires off a shot, causing Max to do back flips in the air.
While the Drim soldier was distracted, Fekete pops in from its left and lands a flying kick to the beak, literally knocking him out of his seat.
“Fekete, behind you!!” Max yells out as two Drim soldiers fly in, ready to fire. “MEGAN, deploy shield.” Max instructs as he flies in close like a bat out of hell. Bunch of tiny metallic objects emit from his waist and form a round, transparent disc-like shape as he hovers back facing Fakete. The beams hit, but they don’t make it past the partly invisible disc in front of Max’s body. Once the firing ceased, Max wills the shield to separate, making a small cavity near the center as he deploys a miniature missile from his left shoulder, which was aimed at the cockpit the soldier was riding in.
When it came in contact with the instruments controlling the beast, it went haywire and causes it to attack one of its own.
“Shield, retract…” Max commanded just before he and Fekete deserted the enemy on their way to their objective.
“I’ll cover right; you cover left and we’ll meet in the middle.”
“You may need this…” Max hands her his blaster.
“Thanks…”
“If they succeed and you become powerless, you’ll truly be thankful.”
They break off and begin the assault. With his arms stretched out at his sides, Max performs a barrel roll as he dives and spirals into alignment with the wave of soldiers preparing to storm the huge, domed building with an array of colored lights shining out at the top.
As usual, the Pachycephalosaurus were pounding at the door with the top of their heads like battering rams while more Lumindemians had their hands full with the oncoming invasion of velicoraptors; some of which were riding atop huge Triceratops that were attacking anything within their line of sight using the horns and stamping their feet, causing tiny earthquakes, which upset the Lumindemian foot soldiers’ balance.
Max flies in close and drops concussion grenades to disorient them. Once they were confused, Max turns and flies behind one of them, grabs its tail, swings it, and throws it to the ground. Then he turns to another Triceratops and knocks the Drim foot soldier off of the top of it.
Another Drim soldier come in from below and fires at Max from the front, knocking him to the ground, but instead of fall on his back, Max performs a back flip and lands on his feet.
The raptor continues firing as Max rapidly approaches and hits him with an uppercut, sending several feet into the air. at the same time, another Galamimus jumps on his back grips his neck; Max was rescued as one of the Lumindemians takes a shot at the beast latched onto his back; Max turns to him and says, “Thanks.”
Shortly after, another one approaches, but Max was able to see it coming and performs a wall kick off the ribs of a Triceratops, performs a flip in midair and aims down at him with his right palm, killing him instantly with a blast of white light from his proton cannon. Upon landing, he was attacked by another soldier 45 degrees to his left. He disarms him with a side kick and finishes him off with a heel kick to the beak.
One of the Triceratops’ charges at the group like an angry rhino and they swerve; one of the soldiers holds out his left hand and takes a shot, shoving him out of his seat and making him hit the ground face first.
Another Lumindemian pushes a raptor towards one of his teammates, which sweeps him onto his side and fires disc made of light; the raptor vaporizes instantly.
One of the soldiers elbows a raptor in the chest, then turns and pushes him back with a double palm to the chest. The raptor stumbles backwards towards another Lumindemian, which grabs him in a rear neck choke and breaks his neck.
Once they were ¾ of the way finished, they began to notice the dome head dinosaurs were almost done busting the doors down. Fekete approaches from the side and sweeps them away before they could finish.
Later, when Max and Fekete met up with Caitlin and Willis again, she explained where they could find her sister, Starla.
“Before you guys arrived, she stowed away on a transport ship going back to the Drim home world, Planet Era-Saur, hoping to find the reason for this unprovoked attack…”
“The Drim don’t usually escalate a fight without reason.”
“She hasn’t reported back with anything yet since you showed up.”
“If you’re planning on performing a rescue mission, you should know the Drim has defenses set up in orbit. Any unknown vessels will instantly get torn apart.”
“There has to be… blind spots, weaknesses in their defenses.”
“None that we know of…”
“But feel free to give it a try.”
“And if you survive long enough, be sure to report back.”
“Forgive the sarcasm, but I think you should try it the way my sister did. There’s another ship leaving for their planet to pick up more soldiers. You should be on it. I’d also suggest bailing out before it reaches the landing zone.”
“You realize you’ll be sitting ducks once you arrive, right?” Samuel said over the com systems. “You’re going to need backup; one of us will have to stay and watch the ship. I volunteer.”
Alex, and Phoebe were on their way down.
Amongst the ruins of the Drim home world. The sky was dark brown due to dust from the crumbling buildings, which our heroes saw before them.
“What a dump…” Caitlin said.
There wasn’t a single inhabitant for miles, but they still kept their guard up.
“Fekete mentioned this race is territorial, but I didn’t expect this,” Phoebe replied.
“We can enjoy the scenery later. Right now, we need to locate Starla.”
“I agree with Willis,” Alex answers. “Let’s get moving.”
Unbeknownst to them, there was a sniper perched in a 20-story building on their right with its sights set on Max. Within seconds, the sniper moves from one target to the next until turning away from them completely and towards the Drim soldiers stealthily approaching from the south.
The sound of two shots hits our heroes’ ears and catches their attention. They look to the two dead soldiers at their feet and look around to see if they can pinpoint the source of the shots.
The sound of footsteps hitting the ground alert them to the presence of their mysterious ally, who was soon revealed to be Starla and an unknown hyena-like being in a sun yellow robe similar to Meerlix’s.
“Starla?” Willis asked, surprised to see it was her.
“Willis, Max? What are you all doing here?”
“Someone named Diamanos is attacking earth…”
“I know; she’s been making a mess of Lumindemia.”
“We saw…”
“We we’ve been traveling the galaxy looking for you”
“Look, if you’re asking for my help to save your world, I can’t. We got our own problems we need to deal with first. I can’t just leave my people. They need all the help they can get.”
“Your sister told us you came here. How can you just come here on your own, you could’ve been killed.”
“Willis, enough…” Max said, putting his hand on his brother’s shoulder. “Why have you come here?”
“I had my suspicions about the Drim’s unprovoked attack on Lumindemia and it turns out I was right; the ones you’ve fought are not themselves. They’ve been indoctrinated somehow. Something was injected into their brains, which changed their behavior patterns and made them attack more erratic.”
“So how do we stop it?”
“There’s an abandoned factory, probably the only working one on this hunk of rock, where this is all taking place, but security’s too tight.”
“Well, you still have your ranger powers; why not use it to storm in like a one-woman army?”
“They’re monitoring energy levels, they’d see me coming from a mile away; plus, Yenax doesn’t possess the same power as me, which means while I play Iron Man, he’d be a sitting duck.”
“So we have to do this the old fashioned way.”
“Wouldn’t be fun if it were easy…” Yenax gave a wink as he smiled.
“He was quite the rebel on his planet.”
“Must be the hyena in him…”
The factory was three stories high and 15 windows across. Max scopes out the place with his binoculars.
“What do you see?” Phoebe whispered.
“Exactly what Starla mentioned; there are dark light soldiers on the north stairwell, and in front of every door; no easy way in.”
“What we need is a distraction,” Caitlin pointed out.
“Leave that to me…” Yenax replied as he dashes off.
“Yenax, wait…” Alex whispered.
“Let’em go, Alex.” Starla said.
Our heroes covered all four sides as they infiltrate the structure; all except Yenax, who was busy preparing a distraction. Once the others took out the patrol and made their way inside, that was his cue to go ahead.
High atop a hill facing the factory building stood a large tank-like truck. Its headlights turn on, the engine starts roaring; in the driver seat sat Yenax with one hand on the wheel and the other on the gear shift. He shifts the gear to the right position and shoots off. As he races downhill, he puts the truck on cruise control and gets in the back. The trucks bounces as it descends upon the factory wall on the north side until it finally plows right into it and makes a huge gaping hole several yards in diameter.
All of the dark light soldiers proceed to investigate.
With them not at their posts, Starla and the rest continue onward.
Meanwhile, Yenax prepares to fight. He tears a hole in the roof of the cargo area with a couple of rifles in hand like ‘the terminator’. He makes a few jokes to try and get their attention, but it seems to have no effect, so he skips straight to the shooting. The shots could be heard from all the way inside. “C’mon, who else wants some, huh?!”
“Man, you weren’t kidding about him being a rebel.”
“He does get a lil carried away sometimes…” Starla explained.
They hear footsteps coming down the hall and take cover, waiting for them to pass.
Moments later, they approach a catwalk and look over the edge to see a bunch of Velociraptor, Galamimus, and Pachycephalosaurus standing in a single-file line on a conveyor belt, which pulled them towards a large, rectangular frame. As each dinosaur passed through, a blue jolt of lightning emits from the left side and into the brains. At the end of the conveyor belt, each of the dinosaurs steps off the conveyor belt and is escorted by two dark light soldiers; the raptors were given armors and a various different guns, while the others were taken to a room where they had a bullet-resistant metal was grafted throughout their bodies.
“This is all my fault; I didn’t mean for things to get this far out of hand.”
“What do you mean, Starla?”
“I should’ve explained myself clearer to her. Then this wouldn’t be happening.”
“Explain to who?”
“I’ll explain once we’re done. Now here’s the plan, you guys go down and set them free; I’ll see what I can do to reverse the process.”
Alex quickly disguises him as a dinosaur, a Galamimus; the dark light soldiers stun him so he couldn’t move. Alex was only inches away from ending up like the other Drim before Max and Willis rush to the rescue; Willis races by as a green blur and snatches him off of the belt while Max dons his Pill bug armor and delivers a single punch to the destroy the indoctrination device; Caitlin comes in from the east and sends one of the enemy soldiers flying into a wall with her laser vision.
Up top, a pitch black demon-like monster with the lower half of a raptor or a raven, pointy ears on the top of his head, oval shaped eyes, and an evil grin with red and black feathers coming out of his neck, and red and gray metallic hands with sharp fingertips hears the noise and jumps out of his seat. “What the heck’s going on down there?”
Starla clears her throat to get his attention and let him know she was behind him; he turns towards her just as she performs a clothesline; he breaks the glass as he goes over the railing.
With him out of the room, Starla gets to work at the console. She goes through line after line after line of code, taking up to about 10 to 15 minutes trying to crack the sequence while her friends finish off the remaining dark Lumindemians.
Just then, small, red boomerang type object hits the controls near Starla’s right hand; she turns just as it returns to the hand of the same demon she just threw out of the room.
“Guess you didn’t get enough the first time…” Starla said.
Bogoul rushes at Starla, taking a swipe at her with his left. Starla ducks and lands a straight punch to the stomach, then rises with an uppercut. Bogoul sidesteps and takes a swipe at her with his right; Starla spirals onto her chest. She quickly gets up as Bogoul rushes towards her and immediately teleports behind him.
“What the…? Where’d she go?”
Starla taps him on the shoulder and he quickly responds; Starla wraps her arm around his and twists upwards; then she teleports back in front of him and throws a right hook to the jaw. As he falls to the floor, she gets back on the computer and resumes what she was doing before getting interrupted.
Frustrated, Bogoul gets back up, “Damn Lumindemians…” he mumbles just before he sneaks up on Starla, who had no idea he was back there until Yenax pounces on him.
“Thanks,” she said.
“No problem. So how’s it going?”
“I almost got it; just need a few more minutes.”
“I’ll see what I can do.” Yenax extends his claws and prepares to dig them into Bogoul.
Bogoul swings low, but Yenax blocks and swings high; Bogoul ducks with his arms out at his sides and brings them together like a pair of clamps around Yenax’s waist; Yenax blocks and delivers a kick to Bogoul’s bird-like legs and then spirals around to perform a back elbow to the jaw; but Bogoul leans back out of the way and quickly leans forward with a swipe to the chest from his left. With Yenax stumbling backwards, Bogoul rushes at him and repeatedly punches him in the chest with the Wing-Chun punch move; Yenax grabs Bogoul’s right fist with his right hand and Bogoul’s left fist with his left, then spirals and throws him over his head and on his back.

“Are you done yet?”
“I just need a few seconds more,” Starla says to Yenax.
Bogoul tackles his waist and tries to body slam him, but Yenax elbows him in the back a couple times and them tosses him aside; Bogoul gets up and comes at him with a left and Yenax grabs his wrist and pulls his arm right; Bogoul breaks free and throws a right; Yenax does the same move with his right, but pulls it left, then he releases his grip, and lands a flying knee to the chin.
“Okay, I got it.” With utter certainty, Starla presses ‘enter; on the keypad and completes the reversal process; the brainwashed Drim soldiers inside the factory and the ones back on Lumindemia all came to their senses and turned on the dark Lumindemians.
Long after that, Starla continues typing in codes; at the same time, Bogoul rushes up to stop her, but Starla jumps out of the way and Bogoul draws his claw right into the console, activating the self-destruct.
“Oh no…”
“You head for the exit; I’ll get the others and meet up.” Starla explained to Yenax. Seconds later, she teleports down to Max, Willis, Alex, Phoebe, and Caitlin and wraps them in light energy before she teleports her and them out of the building.
Seconds before the explosion, Bogoul was able to fly out; a huge smoke cloud follows him as he takes the skies screaming like a grown man on a roller coaster.
During the ride back to Lumindemia, Starla explains the situation with Diamanos.
“Diamanos is my exact double. Not like a sister, but a clone; minus a few features and flaws. This phenomenon occurred days ago during a meteor shower. I was at the Mother Light temple when it happened.”
The Mother Light was as tall as a two-story house and six feet wide; yellowish-white and it wasn’t hot to the touch; it felt liquid instead of like fire. The room it was in had a skylight with a kinetic barrier; as the light would fade away if it rained.
“I usually visit the temple when I need to think. After being there for several minutes, that’s when it happened; as the fragments of the meteor pass in the night sky, something fell and hit the temple, breaking through the barrier. As it came in contact with the light, it turned it black for a few seconds; just long enough that it sent a jolt through my system. My shadow came to light immediately after and there she was standing in front of me. She attacked me first and I tried to fight her off as best I could, but she bested me and got away. Next thing I knew when I woke up, my planet was at war; not with Diamanos, but with the Drim. I suspected Diamanos was behind this; I just didn’t know how.”
“What I don’t get is if she’s one of your people, why would she want to destroy the very thing giving you all your powers?”
“That I’m not sure of.”
Meanwhile, miles away from the Drim home world…
“Suspect we have a traitor in our midst, Darvako; I sensed something wrong when my connection to the Mother Light back on Lumindemia told me it was being attacked.”
“How do you know it wasn’t the rangers, your highness?”
“One of their teammates is also a Lumindemian; what possible reason would they have to betray her?”
“Perhaps Hyptizmos…”
“Don’t you dare besmirch his name; Hyptizmos is one of my best and most loyal generals. Too bad I can’t say the same for you. With as much firepower as you have and you manage to let six teenagers elude you.”
“I’ll do better next time.”
“You’d better not disappoint.”
“I won’t.”
End of transmission.
“Remind me again, Darvako, why we’re doing this?”
“Because, Bogoul I don’t trust Lumindemians; and that goes double for Diamanos. If not for the other Lumindemian and her friends, my plan would’ve succeeded; Diamanos and her entire race would be powerless. I should be ruler, not her.”
“You realize what’ll happen if she catches us…”
“She’s not gonna catch us; if you keep your mouth shut.”
Onboard Hyptizmos’ ship
“Hyptizmos, a status report please. Have you fixed your ship yet?”
“I’ve made the necessary repairs and am ready to go.”
“Good, because I got another assignment for you.”
“Whatever you need of me, your highness.”
“I need you to follow Darvako and keep an eye on him; I don’t trust him. He may be plotting to destroy me.”
“Just give me his last coordinates and I’ll get right on it.”
Back in orbit around Lumindemia; onboard Samuel’s ship.
“Starla, we’re not asking you to just all of a sudden join the team again; we know you have a responsibility to your people. We’re looking for Zierian and since you know the galaxy very well, maybe you could give us directions.”
“There’s a race called the Djinn Khari; they know a lot more than I do. We could go to them for help.”
“Who are the Djinn Khari?”
“Genies, who have been freed, mostly; from a planet with the same name,” Yenax explained. “They’ll wander the galaxy looking for adventure from time to time and usually find it.”
“They’re not one for allying themselves with anyone or escalating a fight, but they will interfere with a war without motive.”
“Then how come we haven’t seen any?”
“They are usually around when you least expect them to be.”
“MEGAN, set a course for these coordinates,” Starla says as she types them on the computer.
Moments later in another part of the galaxy…
“Diamanos, I’ve tracked Darvako like you asked. He’s in the Orchest system near Planet Tonar.”
“And what of the rangers…?”
“No sign of them, your majesty. Something’s wrong. I can’t hail him on coms; might be some kinda interference.”
“Find out what’s he’s doing; get him back on course. He gives you any trouble, you have authorization to terminate.”
“You heard her, men. Half of you come with me; the rest stay here.”
Hyptizmos and a dozen and a half Lumindemians head to the shuttle bay. Once boarded, the airlock doors close behind them and the cargo bay door opens. The pilot descends into the atmosphere past the storm clouds, towards the icy mountain; he hits the top of it and sends chunks of snow spiraling downhill like an avalanche.
As they land, the doors open and Hyptizmos and his men exit into the heavy rain, strong winds, and loud, clapping thunder.
“Stay sharp. He’s around here somewhere.”
As they walk along through the stone forest, one of the soldiers starts hearing noises.
“Does anyone else hear that; Sir, what about you?”
“Sounds like whales, so what?”
“Well, the map shows that we’re land-locked; how can there be whales all the way out here?”
“I guess you haven’t heard about the inhabitants of this rock.”
“I don’t go off-world much.”
“They have no original color; it changes depending on their mood. They have eyes, ears, no mouth, no nose…”
“No mouth and no nose? Well… how do they…?”
“I dunno; that’s all I heard about them.”
Meanwhile our heroes land on the planet Djinn Khari in the middle of the desert; after landing, Samuel pops his head out of the sand to see everyone else had landed on his feet. he and the others de-morph and discuss the situation.
“Okay, people, time is short; we haven’t the time to enjoy the scenery…”
“What scenery?” Starla said, pausing in between words as she looked around and saw nothing but sand.
“MEGAN, which way is the nearest city? We can start from there.”
“Scanning the planet’s surface; 10%, 25%, 75%, complete,” she said as she reached 100%. “Closest city is approximately 8.2 miles southeast of your location. Might I recommend flying?”
“Maybe we should try being low-key this time; prep the motorcycles.”
“Sure, because people riding bikes on the sand is very covert,” Caitlin said with sarcasm.
“Yenax, it’s relatively easy, you just hold out your arm; the one with the glove on and imagine your vehicle. It’ll teleport to you by send molecule after molecule through the circles on the joins of your hand.”
Yenax watches the others do it before he gives it a try. The others receive a motorcycle, except for Phoebe and Caitlin, who get an all-terrain vehicle or ATV for short, painted with their corresponding ranger color; Yenax’s was blue.
Back on planet Tonar
“Jeez… how long do these rock formations go on for?” it was as if Hyptizmos was talking to himself; most of his men were focused on the noise, which sounded like a mixture of seals caught in a bear trap and whales singing.
The sound seemed to be getting closer; the soldiers cautiously look around, pointing their gun at anything they think moved; the guys in the back were the first to get hit as an invisible force from out of nowhere like a wrecking ball hitting the side of a building. The men peel off the walls instantly after their backs hit it; they all turn their attention in the same direction, but whatever attacked them was gone like the wind.
The men, who were closest to Hyptizmos were next; one of them bumped into him after being shoved.
“Watch where you’re going, soldier!”
“It wasn’t me, sir.”
Hyptizmos looked up as he saw a bunch of blue wavy lines rush across the sky, changing between the different colors seen in an Aurora Borealis. One of them takes a shot at them and his bullets go straight through.
“What was that thing?”
“That’s gotta be a Tonarian or whatever the hell they’re called.”
“I don’t think so, sir…”
“Oh you don’t, do you?”
The man points to what was behind Hyptizmos.
Hyptizmos plays all calm and quickly turns, performing a back elbow strike at the last possible minute; but the blue being with small, tentacle like hairs on its head, purple eyes, and no mouth glides backwards to avoid the move, and thrusts it arm upward diagonally, creating a strong gust of wind, which knocked everyone off their feet; everyone except for Hyptizmos, who teleports past it with his sword at the ready and takes a shot at the ghost like thing as it appeared in solid form. The scratch he left in its skin let out musical notes instead of blood. It grabs for the sword as Hyptizmos makes another slash; with the top of the blade stopped, the Tonarian sends a massive shockwave from its body at its opponent; Hyptizmos stood his ground like a rock embedded in the earth and remained on his feet.
Suddenly, more of the beast’s kind came out to join the fight.
Hyptizmos tips the odds in his favor. With his hypnotizing mask, he works his way into the mind of his opponent and turns it against the other Tonarians; sound against sound and the Tonarians ended canceling each other out one by one, giving the Lumindemians a fighting chance.
After having seen enough, Darvako and his sidekick step in; Darvako hits Hyptizmos with an energy blast to get his attention.
“Diamanos sent you, didn’t she?”
“She had her suspicions; and I see she was right.”
“She wouldn’t have any suspicions if a certain someone hadn’t launched an assault the Lumindemian homeworld’s source of power.”
“Hey don’t blame me, blame your army, the Drim. I told you we should’ve gone with someone else besides a race of inferior creatures; perhaps the Chlorphynoids…”
“Quiet, birdbrain before I pluck you of all your feathers!”
“Why do this?”
“Same reason anyone does this, for power. Diamanos should be listening to me, not the other way around.”
“How do you plan to overthrow her with no army?”
“I have an army.”
“Yeh, Diamanos’ army.”
“Well, you see, that’s where you’re wrong. It’s my army now.” Darvako emits a loud, scratching sound, which hurt the ears of Bogoul, Hyptizmos, and the ears of every Lumindemian soldier left standing after the battle earlier. The sound hits the ears of the soldiers and something happened; they changed colors. They went from black to a burnt amber color.
Once the noise ceased, Hyptizmos and Bogoul uncovered their ears.
“If your plan is to make us all go deaf, then you’ve nearly succeeded.”
Darvako smirked.
“Okay, enough of this. Take the traitor into custody.”
The Lumindemian soldiers didn’t comply.
“I said take him away! Don’t tell me that thing actually made you all deaf. What’s wrong with your…?”
“This sound interferes with specific brainwaves and alters them; I believe your men work for me now; and you… you’ve served your purpose; I think it’s time we sent you back to your beloved queen in pieces; DESTROY HIM!”
Hyptizmos couldn’t believe it; his own army turned against him as if this were all a bad dream he couldn’t wake up from. He fought them off to the best of his ability, but in the end, they got the better of him.
“I’m sorry, but I have no use for someone I cannot control…”
“NOOOOOO!!!!!”
And with one last strike, Hyptizmos was silenced for good.
“C’mon, let’s go.”
“You wouldn’t do that to me would you?”
“Of course not.”
Back on Djinn Khari; Samuel, Phoebe, Alex, Max, Caitlin, Willis, Starla, and Yenax split up after reaching the city; Max and Alex wandered the streets while the others checked inside buildings. Yenax went into a clothing store, Samuel and Caitlin checked out a bar, and Starla and Phoebe hit the gym.
Phoebe walks up to a guy, who was busy practicing his jabs, kicks, and elbows on a punching bag. The first few times she called out to him, he didn’t respond on account of that he had earphones on and was listening to some type of hard rock music, which drowned out everything around him.
Phoebe then taps him on the shoulder and he turns instantly.
“I’m sorry to bother you; my name’s Phoebe Dallas and I…”
The guy interrupted, “That’s supposed to mean something to me?”
“Guess not; anyway, I was wondering if you could help me out with something?”
“I don’t do donations, lady. Go find someone else.”
“This isn’t about money, sir. We’re looking for someone; a guy named Zierian.”
“Can’t say I know him; or her…”
“Oh okay… well, again, I’m sorry to have wasted your time.” Phoebe slowly walks away.
Meanwhile, in a bar on the south end of the city
Caitlin wanders the bar in and out of crowds, asking people the same questions everyone else was asking all around the city; meanwhile, Samuel stood by the bar.
A purple genie in blue, baggy pants, and a white vest and pointy ears sitting next to him was having a conversation with a friend of his; Samuel turns once he hears them talking about a girl, who fits Caitlin’s description.
“You got a problem?” one of the genies said.
“Yeah, I got a problem, dude. That girl you’re talking about? She’s with me.”
“What she sees in him, I’ll never know. He’s not even that appealing.”
“Firstly, she’s my sister and second, what’s wrong with how I look?”
Meanwhile, back at the gym; Starla comes in from the other direction and meets with Phoebe.
“Any luck,” Starla asked.
“None so far. How about you?”
“The same; seems like this place was a waste of our time.”
“Someone has to know where we can find him.”
Starla looks over at the fight cage as one of the combatants was beating up a badly bruised opponent, who was lying on the ground almost unconscious. She walks over to the cage as the fighter was still pounding into him with one fist while keeping him pinned with the other hand.
“Hey!” Starla exclaimed, making the guy cease his actions and come over. “Don’t you think he’s had enough?”
“What are you, the referee?”
“What if I am?”
“You don’t look much like a ref to me; more like a fighter.”
“If I fight needs to be broken up, a girl’s gotta learn how to defend herself in case things get rough.”
“You… looking to get in the ring and go a few rounds?”
“Maybe later; what I need now is some information. See my friend over there? She and I are looking a golden knight by the name of Zierian; you seen him around?”
“About my height, with a golden mane, long, rounded ears, wearing gold armor from head to toe; always carried a shield with him?”
“Sounds about right. you know him?”
“I’d be willing to tell you all I know, but only if you can beat me in a fight.”
“Just don’t cry when you lose…” Starla said after accepting his offer. Just as she enters the cage, Max calls in on the communicator saying, “We found Zierian. He’s at a museum in the next city 10 miles from here.”
Phoebe prepares to leave the building, but notices Starla wasn’t behind her, “Aren’t you coming?” she asked.
“I’ll stay; I think he’s actually looking for to fighting me.”
“Alright… I’ll send you the coordinates once we get there, so you’ll know where to find us.”
Back onboard Darvako’s ship
“I have found a traitor in our midst; it was Hyptizmos.”
“I don’t believe it.”
“Well it’s true. He attacked me down on Tonar; nearly destroyed me.”
“I’m sorry to hear that, but what were you doing on Tonar to begin with? It’s dangerous there.”
“I only got there moments before landed.”
“But… he told me he followed you.”
“And you believe that?”
“He was one of my best generals. Why would he do this?”
“I dunno your majesty.”
“Well then you’ll have to take over his responsibilities, General Darvako. Find the rangers and destroy them.”
“Will do…”
End of transmission
“Bogoul, we’re heading back to Lumindemia. There’s a lil something I want to pick up first.”
Back on Djinn Khari an hour later
Samuel and friends enter the museum to the sight of a statue of a genie; blue with pointy ears, a toothy grin, a ponytail, wearing white pants, but no shirt or vest over its muscular physique.
“This the founder of your world?” Samuel asked.
“Yes it is…” the museum curator replied.
“He looks strangely familiar in some way…” Max asked.
“Anyway, can we see him? Can we see Zierian?”
“Oh of course… right this way, please.”
Instead of finding who they were looking for, they find something that belonged to him; his gold shield with the nine medallions still attached to the indentations.
“What happened to him?”
“I can honestly say I don’t know; a couple of explorers brought this in about a year ago.”
“Listen, it’s important we have it; the fate of the galaxy is at stake.”
“This may be hard to believe, but we’re what are known as ‘the Gaia Rangers’.”
“The what?”
“We protect the earth from aliens.”
“Never heard of you.”
In orbit around Lumindemia;
“Why do you need this, Darvako?”
“I transmit the signal from this through their power source and I can control the minds of the Lumindemians and they’ll do my bidding; as you saw, it only works on those with weaker willpower, so Diamanos won’t be affected; but we CAN use her own troops against her.”
“But why take it with us?”
“If it’s close by, I won’t have to worry it being tampered with; plus, I wanna see the look on the wench’s face when all this takes place.”
Darvako and Bogoul sit back while their men were down on the planet, heading for the temple.
Two of the guards standing at the door notice a dozen and half soldiers, mostly Caucasian, and black men, in burnt amber colored uniforms coming at them.
“Who are they?”
The soldiers walk in past the guards and traverse the hallway until getting to their objective, where they place glowing blue circular objects in four areas around the sphere of light.
A wandering priest comes across them, “Hey. Hey, what are you doing?!”
Without hesitation, one man shot him down with a devastating blast from his palm while his fellow teammates activate the devices. The blue light emits a beam, which stretches to the sky. Seconds later, the giant sphere was teleported aboard, where Darvako was waiting, “Magnificent, isn’t it?” he asks Bogoul.
“At a distance? I’d say so…”
“Now, all we gotta do is destroy the Gaia rangers, and then that’s one less enemy to worry about.”
“You…” Bogoul pointed to one of the men, “Begin a long-range scan. We must find those rangers.”
“Aye aye, sir.”
Back on Djinn Khari
“Look, we need that shield so we can save our planet from invaders, who took it over.”
“Please, you gotta help us.”
“If it’s a question of money, I got you covered.”
“How’s money going to solve anything? You don’t even know what kind of currency their world has, Samuel.”
“Oh right…”
“Well, since Earth is the one planet we mostly visited in the past, we’ve copied after you. Other cities take a specific types; Ruble, Euros, British pound, Caribbean dollar, etc; but it’s not about money.”
“Then what is it about?”
“Since the artifact was donated to us, you’re going to have to talk to the guys who actually discovered it.”
“Give us the address…”
They travel to the other side of the city to the address given. Once they knock on the door, they are surprised at whom they see.
“No way…”
“I thought Daniel Creed killed you…?”
“Actually, it was Janis in the ‘form’ of Daniel Creed.”
“Whatever.”
“Can’t keep elementals like us down…”
“Besides, we faked our destruction.”
Celsior and Farenhart explain how they faked as if they were disintegrating before Janis could drink up their life energy like a mosquito does to blood.
“Anyway, what can we do for you?”
“Our world is under attack…”
“What else is new?” Celsior asked.
“In case you haven’t noticed, it’s happening to lots of other planets in the galaxy.” Farenhart said.
“All we need is the shield you guys gave to the museum of this place and we’ll…”
“What use would it be? Zierian’s out of commission; without him, you’re powerless.”
“Not exactly ‘powerless’, but…” Phoebe pauses right before she takes out her morpher and says the go code, “Power of the Earth beneath my feet, Brown Wolf Ranger!”
“But we’re close to it…” Max finishes for Phoebe.
“See, the new power source I put in to compensate for the absence of the medallions is too weak and it can only sustain our form for a short time before it has to power down and recharge…” Samuel explained.
“Is there any way to get him back?”
“Who’s the new guy?”
“That’s Yenax; he’s from the Planet Savpharus.”
“Our brother’s life force was slowly wasting away over the years after the events on Earth. Without him, you won’t be able to harness the power of the medallions.”
“What about a replacement?”
“The spirits of the medallions are soul-bound; you have to willingly transfer to a person of your choosing; since Zierian is no longer living, his power cannot be transferred.”
“There must be something you can do; like give some of your powers to revive him.”
“Why should we?”
“He’s your brother, guys, c’mon.”
“He tried to keep us from what was rightfully ours to begin with.”
“Not the Karma Lunari thing again…” Willis said as he smacked his palm against his forehead.
“I… hate to interrupt, but…” MEGAN pauses as she brings up a holographic image of an inbound ship she picked up on her sensors.
“Friend of yours?” Farenhart asked.
“I’m not sure. It doesn’t look like Hyptizmos’ ship.”
“Hey, isn’t that the same ship we saw leaving the orbit of the Drim home planet?”
“Whoever they are, you can bet they’re here for us; suit up, rangers.”
“With the fluidity of water, Blue Wolf Ranger!”
“Shining light in all shades and forms, White Wolf Ranger!”
“By power of the full moon, Purple Wolf Ranger!”
“Mysterious as the dark night sky, Black Wolf Ranger!”
“Power of the sun, Orange Wolf Ranger!”
“I call on the power of… Green Wolf Ranger!”
“By the roaring flame, Red Wolf Ranger!”
“They’re landing in the desert outside the city.”
“Let’s move out…”
Celsior and Farenhart start to cough from the dust that was created by the rangers on takeoff.
“Sir, I feel you should also know… something big has just entered the atmosphere; bigger than anything you’ve faced so far.”
“I’m sure whatever it is, we can handle it.”
Lumindemian soldiers quickly descended like meteorites and hit the sand, almost burying themselves under a foot of sand, but they emerge; all shrouded in the same burnt amber colored light rather than the usual black aura.
“Something seems different about these guys.”
“You’re right, Alex. Their brainwaves seem off; and what’s with the color?” Starla said, confusedly.
Shortly after, the huge blip on MEGAN’s radar appears and hits the sand, making a bigger splash than the others.
As quickly as it hit, it sprung out of the ground like a giant beanstalk; but instead of going straight up into the sky, it curved and shot straight at our heroes, who all swerved just in time.
Caitlin and Phoebe flew up, and curved back down over top of the giant, scaly worm-like thing with several rows of ferocious, sharp teeth, a single row of spikes going down its backside, and ant-like pincers. They take a nosedive with arms pointed straight out hit it hard on the top of the head, driving downward while it screamed like an animal in pain. It shakes them off just as Starla comes in and makes a grab for her with its pincers.
Starla tries her best to break free, but the beast’s grip was too strong; so she diverts all power into the chest plate and sends a focused beam of light down the beast’s through. As the light burns, the monster releases its grip on Starla, but soon after goes back on the offensive.
Alex cuts in and decks it in the side behind its left pincers.
While Samuel, Max, Willis, and Yenax face the army of soldiers, Starla, Phoebe, and Caitlin create a triangle formation and focus their attack on its center, while Alex attacks from behind it.
After about 20 or so bad guys were destroyed, in comes Darvako…
“Face is as ugly as the last guy,” Samuel commented.
In four corners around Samuel, a transparent pillar grew to his height. At Darvako’s command, they emit a powerful sonic wave, which bounces off Samuel’s armor, causing sparks as they do and making Samuel agitate. As he reacts, the vibrations get stronger and stronger until he finally falls to his knees.
“Darvako… he’s very self-conscious about how he looks, so I wouldn’t recommend poking fun,” Bogoul replies.
Max flies in with a frontal kick to Darvako’s midsection, and then turns to Bogoul to do a backhand to the chest moments before Darvako fell.
Willis flies in high with his arms pointed forward, palm cannons ready to fire, but as he fires, Darvako generates a concussion blast and bounces his beam back at him, knocking him out of the sky.
Yenax gets his attention using his miniature gun turret built into his wrist; the shots bounce off, causing sparks as Darvako turns to him.
Seconds after that, Samuel fires thrusters and slides right at Darvako; causing him to spin before falling on his face.
Bogoul flies in, picks Yenax up by the shoulders, flies away with him and drops him until he gets pitted up to his waist in the sand.
Max knocks Bogoul out of the sky; but Darvako gets his attention and hits him with a strong punch to the midsection as he turns.
Samuel and Willis come in from the sides and grab him by the arms; he pulls them in close, breaks free, kicks Samuel with a low side kick to the stomach; Willis with a back kick, then turns to Samuel puts him in a guillotine hold, elbows him in the back tosses him aside, and then performs a roundhouse kick to Willis’ jaw; knocking the two out of their ranger form.
“Samuel!” Yenax cried out. He rushes over to his side. “Samuel, are you alright?”
“Yenax, look out!”
Darvako lands a quick slash to the chest; Yenax spirals and performs a back flip kick to the head; Darvako stumbles back; Yenax faces him, races up, and lands an upward slash; Darvako sidesteps and Yenax goes for an upper slash. Darvako ducks and pushes him back with a powerful concussive blast, which knocks him out of his ranger form.
Max leaps at Darvako with a flying punch, but it was blocked; Darvako grabs his wrist, spins him around, and launches him at his friends. He de-morphs as well.
“Farewell, rangers…”
Out of nowhere, Zierian’s shield rolls into Darvako’s path and Samuel’s; it absorbs the energy of the blaster Darvako sent out and glows a bright yellow.
Samuel turns to see Celsior.
“Go and help your friends; we got this…” he said, speaking for his brother, Farenhart.
“Ah yes, the infamous elementals, Farenhart and Celsior; guardians of the Karma Lunari, who got greedy and wanted the power all for themselves.”
“I see you’ve heard of us.”
At this time, the shield was fully recharged; Zierian pops out just as the giant worm thing pounces and holds up his shield, creating an energy field of yellow light. As the worm attacked, he created sparks when his pincers made contact. Zierian pushed back as hard as he could and knocked the worm back.
“Welcome back, old friend.”
“It’s good to be back.” He turns his attention away from the team and looks over at Yenax. “Who’s he? That can’t be Meerlix, can it? I remember dropping him off in his own timeline.”
“Starla found him on a planet called Savpharus, his name’s…”
“Yenax,” Zierian finished for Willis.
“Yes, how did you…?”
“I met him; you haven’t… told him about…?”
“About what?”
“Zierian, I hate to interrupt you, but can we finish this after we’ve took care of the giant worm?”
“Samuel’s right; all of you take your medallions back.” He says.
Moments later…
“Last I heard, you were dead,” Darvako said to Celsior and Farenhart.
“Don’t believe everything you hear,” Farenhart answered.
“If they couldn’t measure up to my power, what makes you two think you have what it takes?”
“Not two; not anymore…”
“Nice of you to join us, brother…” Celsior said to Zierian.
“Nice of you two to bring me back.”
“Can we dispense with the small talk, later?” Farenhart said irritably.
“One more won’t make a difference…” Darvako throws a concussive blast at the three, but Zierian tears right through it with a concentrated beam of light; sparks fly as Darvako slides back a bit on the soles of his shoes.
Farenhart leaps at him with a fireball in his left hand, but as he throws it, Darvako rolls out of the way. Farenhart tries again as his brother, Celsior comes in from his right; Darvako kicks his hand away and Farenhart accidentally hits Celsior with his fireball instead.
Zierian sneaks up and performs a sweep kick, which Darvako evades with a back flip. As he lands, he throws a punch, which Zierian blocks and forces downward before he goes for a low kick to the abdomen. While he was kneeled down, his brother, Celsior, leaps over his back with a flying kick and then performs a back flip back onto Zierian’s back, where he stood waiting.
Darvako attacks and Celsior performs a sideways roll into a flying punch to the back; pushing him towards Zierian, who performs a sweep kick; after Darvako ends up on his face in the sand, Farenhart leaps in; Darvako rolls before he could have the chance to unleash his attack.
Meanwhile, Samuel, Phoebe, Alex, Starla, Caitlin, Willis, Max, and Yenax use the giant worm to their advantage as they continue to fight the rest of the Lumindemian soldiers; they fight one or two soldiers at a time and wait for the worm to pop up before they leap out of the way and allow the soldiers to get dragged under. They keep this up until only worm remained and then they focused their attention on it.
It pops up out of the ground again and Caitlin attacks it from the bottom; pushing it backwards, so Max can fly in with a couple of rockets to its armor; they hit with a small explosion, but the worm’s armor remains intact.
The worm leans back a bit more and then spirals, knocking Max into his dad.
Yenax gets it attention with a focused beam from both palms; one at a time, but still, its armor has yet to get a scratch in it.
Starla takes a shot at it. She fires the same focused beam Yenax used, but from her chest instead of her palms and doesn’t stop firing. She eventually intensifies the beam until the entire thing shrouded the target in white light.
Samuel takes notice to the worm burrowing under and makes his way over to Starla before it could pop out and gobble her up like it did the enemy soldiers.
“Thanks,” she said.
“You’re welcome.”
“Man, does this thing have a weak spot at all?”
“Lemme run a scan,” Willis replied.
Once the scan was complete, MEGAN replied, “Sensors indicate the armor around its spikes is weaker; you should be able to pull one loose and make an opening.”
“Thanks, MEGAN.”
“It’s not gonna like us tugging at it, we need to find a way to keep it still.”
Out of nowhere, Celsior says, “Unleash the full power of the medallions; unlock its elemental power.”
“How do we do that? We’ve never done it before.”
“The medallions have bonded with you; you’ll know what it knows,” Farenhart explained.
As he concentrates, Yenax brings his hands together in manner as if he were meditating, and finally it comes to him, “I summon the power of water.” He focuses hard enough that he creates a tidal wave out of nowhere, which he surrounds the worm with like a blanket and then solidifies.
While it was frozen, Max flew up to it and around to its backside where he picks one of the spikey things and gives it a tug. It took several tries, but he managed to break one loose.
The worm breaks free of the ice and burrows.
“Might wanna get off the ground, it’s about to very very hot…” Caitlin said vaguely.

Everyone levitates a couple feet off the ground before Caitlin gets ready to do whatever it was she going to do.
“It’s time we heat things up; I call upon the intense flames of the Sun.” with that, she creates a wall of glass several feet down around the worm with a floor connecting all four sides; she could literally feel the worm trying to break through, but its attempts were all for naught. Eventually, it gave up and resurfaced.
Yenax tries his powers again, but worm dodged; so on the second try, Alex helped him out.
“Power of the night sky…” once everything around him, his team, and the worm got dark, Alex was able to teleport anywhere; he reappears behind the worm and pushes him into Yenax’s tidal wave and became frozen once again.
Max, along with Phoebe this time, approach the worm and start yanking out its spikes in the back; after pulling out two more, they plant explosives in the exposed areas and get out of the way.
Once the bombs detonated, the worm’s armor cracked, giving Starla and Willis the opportunity to bombard it with everything they had.
Samuel comes in and places a device, which looked like a peg with a blinking red light, into one of the newer exposed areas. The device was emitting a signal back their ship up in orbit.
“MEGAN, do you have a lock on the target?”
“Awaiting your command, sir,” she replied.
“Hold on a second, darling, I’ve got an idea…”
“Samuel, what are you?”
He bombards the worm with bullets to causes it to take notice of him, “C’mon. Follow me, fish bait!” Samuel takes off flying like a jet on a runway, heading straight for Celsior, Farenhart, Zierian, and Darvako with the worm following him under the sand. “Make way, coming through!” he yelled at Zierian and his brothers.
They step aside and Samuel plows right into Darvako; the worm pops up shortly after and Samuel evades.
With the worm and Darvako next to each other, Samuel gives the order, “Okay, fire…”
A blueish-white beam descends from the sky, engulfing them both; the worm was instantly destroyed, but somehow, Darvako managed to get thrown out of the circle.
“Had enough?”
“You won this round, but I’ll be back…”
“Nice job, Samuel.”
“Thanks, Zierian; you too. Now, what was it you wanted to tell us about Yenax?”
Half an hour later; without Yenax present during the conversation, Zierian starts to explain that Yenax is Meerlix’s father.
“He’s what?” Caitlin asked, sounding shocked.
“Well, that explains why the transfer of the medallion’s power didn’t take as long as I calculated; he already has Meerlix’s DNA.”
“I always thought Meerlix was a mutant or something…”
“Apparently, when Meerlix got older, his planet was invaded
“Invaded? By who; Serpitox?”
“No no, Serpitox did come in until Meerlix joined up with his future team on earth. His world was invaded by Drim. He managed to flee to earth before his world was completely obliterated.
“Yeah, about the Drim; where’d they come from?”
“Before the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs collided with your planet, many different alien races have been visiting earth and abducting two of each species during their era for slave labor, Instead of creating machines, which would eventually become self-aware at some point. They sedated them, dissected them, and replaced some of their organ parts with synthetics to enhance abilities, and also added behavior modification units to control them with; but that idea soon failed. Soon enough, the smaller dinosaurs; Velociraptors, Galamimus, etc. they started to turn on their creators, wiped them all out and took over the planet. Thus the Drim were born.”
“How come you didn’t want us telling Yenax?”
“Whatever information you were to spill may have a negative impact on future events,” Celsior explained.
“Not that we care. He’s been a pain in the neck ever since you let him join your team.”
“ANYWAY… I’m grateful that you revived me, but is there a particular reason you’re here?”
“Our world is being attacked by someone named Diamanos; she’s seized more of the major capitals and has taken people hostage.”
“We came looking for you, because we didn’t have the power to stop her.”
Meanwhile, as Darvako’s ship as he makes his way into the earth’s atmosphere, Diamanos furiously heads in the location of where it touched down; the ruined capital of Sacramento.
“Your majesty…” Bogoul says as he bows.
Darvako nudges him in the shoulder.
“Back so soon; and without the rangers, I see?”
“I’ve got something even better.”
As the Mother Light gets loaded off the ship by Darvako’s men, Diamanos looks on in shock.
“So it was you…”
“Indeed it was, your majesty; Hyptizmos was a worthy opponent, but in the end he chose the wrong side.” He turns to his right hand man, “Bogoul, if you please…”
Bogoul steps towards the light, carrying Darvako’s device. As he sends the sound-wave through, it filters across into any and all Lumindemians surrounding the area, except for Diamanos, who just heard a screeching noise bouncing all throughout her brain like fingernails scratching a chalkboard. She covered her ears, trying to block the sound, but it just wouldn’t stop. She falls to her knees just as Starla does aboard the ship.
“What’s wrong, Starla?”
She wouldn’t answer; with her hands covering her ears, she rocks back and forth, from side to side while trying to get the noise out of her head.
“Starla, snap out of it!”
Willis places his hand on her shoulder and she moves one hand away from her head and swats his arm.
“Starla, I’m trying to help you!”
“Looks to me like she doesn’t want your help,” Alex replied.
Starla then slips out of consciousness once the noise stopped.
Max carries her off to the infirmary and places her on the bed.
Moment later in the mess hall
“Zierian, what the hell happened?”
“I don’t know; that usually happens to Lumindemians when their power source is being tampered with.”
“You mean the Mother Light?”
“You know of it?”
“Yeah, the Drim were attacking Lumindemia and a handful of them stormed the temple where it was kept.”
“Why would Diamanos try to sabotage the thing that’s giving her power?”
“Maybe it wasn’t her idea…”
“We can ask her once we make it back to earth.”
“At our rate of speed, we should arrive in our solar system within the hour,” MEGAN explained.
“I’ll go check on Starla, see how she’s doing.”
“Oh, Willis is already doing that,” Phoebe explained to Caitlin.
Willis was found unconscious by Starla’s bed; Starla was no longer in the room.
“Oh my god, Willis, what happened?” Caitlin said as she rushed into the room. “Guys, Willis is unconscious and Starla’s missing,” she says through her communicator.
Next thing that happened was the ship started to shake; almost like it was under attack and the enemy forces were giving them all they got.
“What’s going on?”
“Hyper drive has been disabled,” MEGAN said.
“MEGAN, bring up the security camera for the bridge.”
“Wait, that’s Starla…” Yenax said.
“Why’s she sabotaging the ship?”
The doors all close, trapping everyone, except for Caitlin, Willis, and Phoebe. Phoebe uses her power of invisibility to get into the room undetected just moments before the door shut behind her. Then she grabs Starla around the waist in a bear hug and tries to pull her away.
Starla thrusts her arms outward to escape her clutches and then elbows her in the kidney; as she turns, Phoebe hits her hard to the jaw with a left punch; Starla attacks with a low kick, which Phoebe blocks with an elbow before she strikes with her right and lands a devastating punch to the stomach and follows up with a left to the face; Starla ducks, holds both her palms out and pushes Phoebe; tiny sparkles of light were made as the space between her and Starla gets greater and greater. Starla then races up and hits with a flying kick to the stomach, pushing her even further into one of the consoles behind her; Phoebe goes on the defensive once her back was against the wall. As Starla kicks, she blocks with a karate chop and quickly throws back an uppercut. As Starla stumbles backward, Phoebe lands a rear horse kick; summons her Mantis Boomerang and throws it.
Starla summons her Armadillo blades; sparks were created as her weapon and Phoebe’s collide.
“There’s got to be a way to open these doors.”
Alex tries turning into a gorilla and uses his strength to lift it up. It took a while, but he managed to get it open.
“I’d hate to be the bearer of bad news, but… we’re on a collision course with earth,” MEGAN said.
“We need to get to the bridge; Alex, hurry up.”
“I’m going as fast I can; a man can only do so much.”
Max then gives Alex a hand; while they lift, they hear the sound of one of the doors on the other side hit the floor; seconds later, something hits the control panel and the door opens on its own to Caitlin standing there; her pupils turning from a bright red back their original brown color.
“Just in time, thanks…”
Meanwhile, back in the bridge…
“Starla, you have to stop this.”
She doesn’t answer.
Phoebe throws a right cross; Starla blocks with a kick, goes for a low kick to the waist, a high kick to the chest; Phoebe stumbles back and goes invisible.
Starla looks around diligently, while Phoebe comes in from all sides with various punches and kicks. After taking all she can stand Starla sends out a wave of light to indicate where she may be. When the light bounces off Phoebe’s body, she knew where to look. As Phoebe sneaks up behind her, Starla performs an over-the-shoulder punch to stun her and then turns to perform a fan kick; Phoebe spirals, but still manages to stay on her feet. Starla then grabs her right shoulder and takes her other hand palm forward as she begins to punch. She phases through Phoebe like a bullet made of light, leaving no blood as she comes out of the exit wound in her human form in the same position she started out in.
Phoebe falls flat on her face, unconscious.
“Still alive I see; well, I’ll have to fix that.”
“Freeze, Starla!” Alex shouts.
Starla turns to the sight of a blaster in Alex’s hand and takes a step closer.
“Alex, just take the shot…”
“Starla, stop moving…”
Starla ignores him and keeps moving forward.
Meanwhile, Willis sneaks in from behind and jams a needle in her neck; sending a sedative throughout her body; she fell asleep within seconds.
“Guys, it’s not slowing down; if we don’t do something, we’re all gonna die.”
“I thought you said you built this thing specifically to enter a planet’s atmosphere?”
“I did, it’s just I haven’t had a chance to test it.”
“You’ve had plenty of times…”
“Yeah, but the thing is; it doesn’t do well on takeoffs either.”
“Perhaps we should try a sea approach; landing in the water,” MEGAN suggested.
“We’re closest to the Pacific Ocean, let’s aim for that; MEGAN, plot us a course please; somewhere where the water’s deep. No reefs.”
“Everybody hang onto something!”
“Yenax, where are you going?”
“I gotta check up on Willis.” While he does so, everyone else grabs onto whatever is nearest to them for dear life; Alex transforms in an anaconda and wraps around Phoebe and Starla while grabbing on a railing.
Once they enter the atmosphere, they are bombarded with laser fire.
“Fire all turrets!” Samuel instructed of MEGAN while he and the others hang on.
They managed to take out all fifteen of the water crafts firing upon before they splash down, causing a huge tidal wave, which traveled all the way to shore.
“Everyone okay?”
“Just fine, Samuel…” everyone, except Starla and Phoebe, said together.
“Anyone else hear a sound like glass cracking?”
“Not me…” Samuel said to Alex.
“No wait, I think hear it now.” Caitlin answered.
“Yeah me too,” Zierian said.
“Alright, it’s about time we morphed,” Max explained.
“Yenax, get into your ranger and you and Willis get out of there, now; this whole place is gonna get flooded.”
“Okay, Samuel.”
“Glimmering as brightly as the sun, Gold Wolf Ranger!”
“With the fluidity of water, Blue Wolf Ranger!”
“By power of the full moon, Purple Wolf Ranger!”
“Mysterious as the dark night sky, Black Wolf Ranger!”
“Power of the sun, Orange Wolf Ranger!”
“By the roaring flame, Red Wolf Ranger!”
Exactly after completing the morphing sequence, the glass breaks and water floods in; everyone except for Samuel make their escape.
“You coming, Dad?” Max asked.
“I gotta do something first; I’ll catch up.”
“Samuel, what are you doing?”
“I cannot let you fall into the wrong hands, MEGAN. You’re coming with me.”
“Well, why don’t you just…”
“I know what you’re thinking and no; a self-destruct may take too long. I can’t risk it. Besides, you’re the original MEGAN. I let you go, then that’s it.” When was he done, he makes his escape before the ship is dragged under. On the shore, his team could see him as He jets out of the water like a missile from an underwater silo.
“Sorry about that, I… had to go back for a friend.”
Afterwards, he and the others head back to the mansion.
“Don’t worry, MEGAN, I’ll have you back online in a jiffy.”
“Samuel, can I ask you something?”
“Sure, Yenax, go ahead.”
“Why risk your life for a machine; for a program to be precise.”
“Because she’s not just a machine; not to me. She and I, we’ve been through everything together. She’s like my best friend.”
“You could’ve died; why not just make another one?”
“It wouldn’t have been the same; wouldn’t you have done the same thing if it were your son?”
“How did you know I have a son?”
Samuel stuttered, “I-I-I-I-I didn’t; I was just speaking hypothetically. But anyway, would you?”
“Would I do the same thing for Meerlix? Sure I would, he means everything to me; but how can you compare synthetic life to organic?”
“Synthetic, Organic; it doesn’t matter. I have two sons that are androids and I don’t treat them any differently than my sister, Caitlin. They’re my family and so is MEGAN. I would do anything for them; including die for them.”
“I… didn’t know she was your sister. I don’t see the resemblance.”
“She was adopted; not legally. I volunteered for this part of this program that helped keep teenagers off the streets called ‘Troubled Youth’ and I was assigned to her; eventually, it felt like we actually were siblings; okay, there we go; you’re back online and fully restored,” Samuel said to MEGAN.
In Willis’ room 15 minutes later
“He’s starting to come to; Willis how many fingers am I holding up?”
“Four…”
“Welcome back…”
“What the heck happened? Why does my head hurt?”
“Starla knocked you out; at least that’s what I assumed when I found you unconscious.”
“She went… completely psycho; her eyes were glowing in kinda a burnt amber like color for a few seconds before she attacked.”
“Burnt amber? That’s the same color as Darvako’s troops.” Max answered.
“Maybe the thing that was giving her power was tampered with like Zierian said.” Phoebe explained.
“Speaking of Zierian, where is he?”
“Oh he’s out rescuing those who have been captured by Diamanos.”
“All by himself?”
“No. Celsior’s with him.”
It was somewhere in North Richmond; a mixture of soldiers and civilians were being held inside of a gated community type area; Zierian, his brother Celsior, and a handful of Glacieroids storms the gates as they take on the dark Lumindemian soldiers, whose auras were now a burnt amber shade. While Celsior’s Glacieroids move in close and attack with hand to hand combat, both sides bombarded each other with an array of light beams, ice beams, and lightning strikes.
“Just like old times, eh brother?”
“I try to forget…” Celsior replied, annoyed.
Zierian brings his left arm together with Celsior’s right arm and they combine their elemental powers to deal a devastating strike, which sent enemy soldiers flying in all directions.
“I’ll take care of these guys; you go free the others.”
“You got it.” After reaching the area where they were all being kept, Celsior freezes the locks and breaks them off one by one, releasing everyone that was trapped inside like caged animals.
Meanwhile back at the mansion
Starla awakes in her room, arms tied behind her back as she sits in a wooden chair. “What the hell, Caitlin?”
“Sorry for doing this, but I’m not so sure you’re you at the moment.”
“What do you mean? Of course I’m me. Who else would I be?”
“I dunno, you tell me. You attacked your boyfriend, tried to sabotage the ship…”
“And not to mention whooped Phoebe’s butt in the process…”
“Not helping, Alex…”
“Well that’s what happened.”
“I don’t really remember any of that,” Starla said confusedly. “I really don’t. All I remember is hearing a scratching noise in my head, I passed out, and I don’t remember anything past that. It was like a whole other me locked me away in a vault and took over; How badly hurt is Willis?”
“He’s… fine; but I don’t know about you; Zierian says what happened to you was a result of your power source, the mother light, being tampered with. If this were to happen again…”
“It WON’T happen again.”
“If it were to happen again out there, we’d be vulnerable.”
“Listen, Samuel’s this genius, right? Maybe he’s got some gadgets that may come in useful to prevent a repeat of this.”
“Where? At his archive building?”
“No, she’s right, Alex. Some of our best gadgets are stored there; like that C.A.C.T.U.S. thing we used in controlling the climate when we had to deal with that half groundhog/ half weather machine monster.”
“To be on the on the safe side, Starla should stay here; we can’t risk her turning on us.”
“Seriously, guys…?”
“Hey, where you guys going?” Willis asked.
“We just need to pick up something from your dad’s lab.”
“I’m coming with you.”
“You’re still badly injured.”
“I’m fine, really; besides, you need someone who knows their way around.”
Half an hour after Caitlin, Alex, and Willis left, Darvako’s Lumindemian troops surrounded every square inch of the mansion and sat back awaiting orders from their ominous leader.
Back inside the command center
“So you’re saying it’s not here?”
“Whoever or whatever it was that messed with the Lumindemian’s power source may have kept it on their home planet.”
“Oh, it’s here; I just can’t get a lock on it due to satellite interference,” MEGAN explained, “Something must be jamming the signal.”
“Must be put in place to halt all communication with ground troops; hinder our progress.”
In the areas where the jammers were put in place, US marines were seen fighting their way through heavy resistance as they make it towards the locations.
At the same this was happening, Samuel and the others were still oblivious to the fact that their home was about to be invaded; the lone Lumindemian severs their connection to the power grid. All, except for the command center, went offline.
“What the hell was that?” Phoebe asked.
Next thing they knew, the front door was broken into and the Lumindemians start flooding in.
There were too many for them to fight on their own and Yenax joining in didn’t make much difference; then a few minutes into the fight, Farenhart releases his army of Magma Golems to assist them.
Max leaves the battle to go untie Starla, “We’re gonna need all the help we can get.”
While the fight was going on, Samuel was in the command center. Once he downloads the coordinates, he takes off in a mad dash, heading for the radar jammer; by the time he’s 100 yards into Sacramento, several red blips appear on his radar. He turns to see he was being pursued by Diamanos’ forces; well, Darvako’s forces technically.
“Well, it wouldn’t fun if it were easy.” Samuel says as he narrowly dodges incoming fire from the rear. “Let’s give’em something to chase, shall we…?” Samuel then goes supersonic, but the enemy then begins to match his velocity. Another 100 yards, and Samuel starts to get bored of this game of cat and mouse; so he deploys a secret weapon. A bunch of shiny, microscopic objects deploy from both feet and form a transparent disc like shape, which several Lumindemians fly right into and blow up instantly on impact like a fighter jet hitting a wall in an action movie. The rest of them notice the fiery remains of their comrades and fly around the shield before it retracts back into Samuel’s suit.
“Fool’em twice, shame on them…” Samuel brings up a map on the readout inside of his helmet and looks for an area he can use to his advantage. “This looks promising…” he picks a golf course on the map, the Bing Maloney Golf Course and flies in low. It was by pure luck that he was able to take one of the soldiers with a rogue golf ball coming from a player that was teeing off, “One down.” Samuel commented. He looks back up after realizing he still had more on his tail and then takes off through the gold course, taking the enemy out one by one until only a dozen of them remained before he exited the course and continued southeast towards the shopping center where the first radar jammer was.
“Deploy smokescreen,” Samuel ordered of MEGAN as gets close to the tower atop one of the shops.
A white, odorless smoke is emitted from the suit’s rear. While the enemy was blinded, Samuel swerved and allowed them to crash into the structure; the combined force from each of them slowly tips the tower over in a fiery explosion.
After giving a wave to the soldiers down below, he takes off.
“Sir, we have an incoming call from a blocked number.”
“Put it through.”
“You’ve really become quite an inconvenience, you and your ranger buddies.”
“You didn’t really think we’d surrender that easily, did you?”
“One way or another, I will have your ranger powers; and then I will destroy this planet once and for all.”
“I thought that was Diamanos’ plan…?”
“It WAS her plan, but now it’s mine; do you really think I would work for her; a Lumindemian?” Darvako chuckled.
“Look, I’m a lil busy here, so if there’s no particular reason for this social call, I’m hanging up now…”
“Wait… I just thought I’d call you with a proposition.”
“What sort of proposition?”
“You’ll just have to meet with me to find out; don’t bother tracing this call, I’ll tell you where I am. Go to some place called the Capitol Building.” Darvako hangs up after that.
“Sir, with all due respect, he may be setting up a trap.”
“You think I don’t know that? Patch me through to Zierian.”
“Kinda a lil busy here, Samuel,” Zierian replies over the roar of the gunfire.
“Okay, change of plans, MEGAN; Zierian, what’s your location?” Samuel asks as he swerves in the opposite direction of the capitol.
“We’re the University campus. The enemy is here attacking innocent people. We’re helping Special Forces keep them at bay, but we’re in danger of being overrun.”
“Lemme talk to him. Samuel, this is Commander Jenkin. I just want you to know these bastards got a hold of a few of our tanks, so watch out for friendly fire.”
“Okay, will do…”
But as the bombardment began upon his arrival, Samuel takes notice to it and immediately dodges. First shot he performs a barrel-roll, second one, he slows down and sidesteps; third shot, he fires back using his left palm and blows it up, fourth shot, he performs another barrel roll and then fires thrusters as he swoops in weapons hot.
The tanks come in from the sides to try and box him in, but Samuel times his moves carefully; as they lock onto him, he flies in the middle of the two on the right. They turn their turrets and fire, but miss Samuel by a couple yards and take out each other. Meanwhile, Samuel joins up with Zierian and the commander.
“What’s the status report?”
“We got’em coming in from all sides; we managed to keep most of them at bay, but they started concentrating on the soccer field to the northwest.”
“Celsior is there trying to hold them back, but it’s proving to be too much for him.”
“Okay, I’m on it…”
Half an hour later, after helping Zierian, Celsior, and the commander out, Samuel arrives at the capitol building by himself while Zierian is back at the command center trying to figure out how to break the mind control spell on the Lumindemians; Samuel immediately realized he walked right into a trap once he found himself surrounded by enemy soldiers from an elevated position inside the dome area,
“So nice of you to show up,” says Darvako.
“Cut the chatter; I know you have my son, Max, and his friends. Where are they?”
“Give me your medallion first.”
“What guarantees do I have that…”
“None; now hand it over or they die.”
Samuel takes his medallion out of the holster around his waist and he looks at it.
“Oh do hurry it along; I’ve got a schedule to keep.”
Samuel tosses it up to him. After getting it, Darvako holds it in his hands with an evil smile on his face while examining it from front to back, left to right, bottom to top, etc.
“You said you’d let them go…” Samuel said calmly.
“Why do the heroes always trust the words of their enemies? Kill him…”
Once the fire started, Samuel deploys the same transparent shield made up of nanobots and deflects the balls of light hurtling towards him right back at his opponents; they hit the ground underneath the soldiers and quickly crumbles. Samuel then pulls out his blaster and aims for Darvako, who had already took off running.
Meanwhile, Samuel still had the Lumindemians to deal with. He runs past them on their right while exchanging fire with them. Eventually he found himself inside the state senate chambers with them right behind him. He returns fire just before he dives behind one of the desks for cover.
During the firefight, his communicator starts to ring.
“Zierian, please tell me you have good news…”
“About what’s going on with the Lumindemians; yes, however, I’m still working on how to reverse it. It seems Darvako has done something to the mother light using some sort of subliminal sound wave. If I can alter the frequency, I might be able to…”
“Okay fine, just do it…!” Samuel hangs up and returns fire yet again.
Several seconds after he did, a single Lumindemian teleports in close and blasts him out of cover. Samuel rolls backwards once and then crawls away from him before he gets up and runs back towards the entrance. From there, he climbs the staircase to the upper levels where he finds Darvako waiting. Darvako takes a swing at him with his right; Samuel leans back and then forward as Darvako swings with his left and hits him in the stomach with a straight punch; Darvako performs a spinning kick, but Samuel spirals out of the way and comes back with an elbow drop to the thigh and then another straight punch, which Darvako stops with a wrist grab; Samuel jerks his hand back and eventually breaks Darvako’s hold before he replies with a jump kick, which Darvako blocks before he throws back a concussive black; as Samuel flies through the air, he pulls out his blast and aims for Darvako’s waist where his morpher was, causing it to detach from the holster, go over the railing and back down the first level, where the Lumindemians scramble to pick it up; Samuel shoots them down one by one to keep them from getting their hands on it, but eventually Darvako kicks the blaster out of his hands; Samuel lures Darvako over to the stairs by utilizing a leg grab and throwing several kicks to the face, he pushes him back down the stairs while he himself leaps over the edge with a cartwheel and lands safely on his feet near his medallion. After picking it up, he fights his back out into the hallway and through the rest of the capitol building until he reaches the 3rd floor.
He throws a left haymaker to the guy in front of him, which gets blocked just moments before the guy threw back a high punch that Samuel swats off to the right and uses to hit his other opponent with; the guy on Samuel’s right reaches for the medallion down at Samuel’s side, but gets denied. At the same time, Samuel hits him with an elbow and shoves him into a door. Samuel then focuses his attention on the guy in the middle as he throws a frontal kick; the guy grabs his leg and flips him. Before Samuel hits the ground, he quickly takes aim with his blaster and fires a shot to the chest; immediately after, a fourth Lumindemian comes in from behind, leaps over his fallen comrade, does a rolls, comes out of it and hits Samuel with a ball of energy; Samuel literally knocks the door partway off its hinges as he’s pushed back into a library-like area. He continues fighting his way into the back and then starts taking books off the shelves to through at them to slow them down while he gets in close and hits them with punch after punch and kick after kick; literally knocking them into bookcases and over tables. He then turns his attention to his right and gets blasted near a window by Darvako, who rapidly approaches and decks him with a right hook before snatching the medallion away and kicking him out the window; before going out the window, Samuel made one last grab for something; but it wasn’t the communicator.
As Samuel slowly descends, a huge flame appears out of nowhere. He lands in it, but as he burns to a crisp, he finds that the flames aren’t even hot; a black, lifeless version of himself took his place whilst he is instantly teleported through the fire and back to the command center, screaming the whole time before noticing exactly where he was.
“Welcome back…”
“Damn it, Farenhart, warn me next time before you burn a guy to a crisp like that.”
“Hey, it’s better he did that than me; unless you want feel numb for an hour,” Celsior replied.
“Can’t believe you went through that trouble with a fake medallion…”
“Well, Alex, I had to make it believable; otherwise, he’d suspect something was up.”
“But what was the point of all this to begin with?”
“I had a feeling that once I gave it to him, he wouldn’t return Max and the others to me, and so I orchestrated this lil charade just so I could get Darvako to keep the fake one, which has a GPS tracker inside it that’ll lead me to where they’re being kept,” he explained to Caitlin.
“I’m picking up a couple of energy signatures in the Amazon; both are in the same place.”
“Well the amazon rainforest is where we head to next,” Alex says.
“Samuel, I still haven’t figured out how to reverse the sound wave…”
“That’s okay; we’ll use this.” He said, tossing it to Zierian.
Darvako was holed up at a power station deep in the amazon that supplies energy to nearby villages, which meant Samuel and friends couldn’t do anything drastic that would cost millions of homes to be without electricity.
“So here’s the plan; Willis, Zierian, and I will run distraction as he head to point A; Caitlin and Alex sneak inside, heading to point B; where the larger blip is; that has to be the Mother Light. When you get there, use this device on it to reverse the process, but wait for our signal first, we still need to get this headdress thing on Starla to keep her from being affected. If it’s anything like what I’ve seen in movies, then once the others are turned good, she’ll be converted back to evil.” He turns to Zierian and holds out a rifle for him to take, “Ever use one of these before?”
“Tell me again why we don’t just morph?” Caitlin interrupts.
“The object here is saving our friends and taking down Darvako and his army; not blowing the place up. If I can help it, I want to make sure the facility remains intact.”
They split into two teams; Caitlin and Alex go around to the side entrance while Samuel, Zierian, and Willis stick to the front. There were two patrolling guards, standing near the entrance, but Samuel and Willis took care of them quickly and hid the bodies before going in.
While Samuel, Willis, Zierian, Caitlin, and Alex infiltrate the facility, Darvako and Bogoul, sit back as their minions guard the prisoners; which were Phoebe, Max, Yenax, Starla and Diamanos
“Hey, Darvako! You got what you want, why do you still need us?”
“If I am to gain control of your powers, must first complete a transfer ritual. If I just take the medallions, their powers won’t work on me.”
“You can’t do that; not without Zierian’s shield, which you forget to steal.”
“Then I’ll just have to track him down and take now, won’t I?”
“No need; I have a feeling he’ll be coming for us very soon.”
“Oh you think so, do you?” Bogoul says to Starla,
“I doubt he’d be able to find this place…”
After making it further inside, Samuel, Willis, and Zierian come across a room filled with energy turbines, and various sets of pipes connecting to different areas of the power station.
“Okay, guys, let’s make some noise; draw their attention.”
Willis and Zierian remove the silent option from their weapons after Samuel does and then open fire.
“Willis, contact right; above you!”
Willis aims at the catwalk; hitting one of the rails, he managed to cause some sparks, which sent the soldier flying over the edge.
Samuel takes cover as small projectiles come at him from the front. He pops out when he thinks it’s safe and takes a shot; he ends up missing, so he has to get to a better position. He races right, while staying low and moves up a row. He then pops out and takes the shot again, this time hitting his target.
“Zierian, I’m gonna need you to cover us from up top.”
“Will do, Samuel…”
Samuel provides covering fire so Zierian can climb up the stairs to the catwalk; from there, Zierian snipes all enemies coming from the doorway on the opposite side; all the ones, who escaped his sight, Samuel and Willis took care of them. Willis and Samuel break from cover, spread out, and try to flank them; Willis takes the first guy he sees and uses him as a human shield as he advances on the others; after a few shots, he tosses him aside and relies on his super speed to dodge their fire and get in close; as he performs a judo chop, so does his opponent. Their arms meet for a brief seconds before Willis pulls away performs an upward elbow to the chin. After sending him flying, Willis was hit with an energy blast and is sent flying into one of the turbines.
Samuel gets the attention of Willis’ attacker and puts several laser rounds through his chest before an assailant comes up from behind and puts him in a choke hold. Samuel elbows him in the side. After he lets go, Samuel quickly turns and throws a low punch to the stomach and, follows with a haymaker to the side of the head and finishes with a laser blast from his small, more manageable laser blaster.
Willis uses his super speed to dodge his foe as he comes at him with a blade attached to the wrist made purely out of light; as his opponent digs into the floor with the blade, Willis takes the opportunity to fire at him. After several shots, the enemy dislodges its weapon from the ground and goes for an uppercut, but Willis performs a back flip just in time.
The two continue fighting their way forward until one of the soldiers comes at Willis repeatedly with a left and right; Willis dodges and then finally grabs a hold of his opponent’s arm with the blade made of light attached to the wrist, performs a judo chop, and then a body throw; from up above, Zierian puts the soldier in his sights and downs him with a well-placed shot to the chest.
“Zierian, to your right!” Samuel yells.
Before Zierian had time to react, he was hit with a ball of energy three inches in diameter and was sent flying. While in midair, Zierian fires a shot with his right hand, which explodes in the center of his attackers, creating a vortex which at first blows them away from each other and then pulls them back in like the vacuum of space does after the hull of a ship has been breached.
Zierian gets to his feet and turns the corner on the catwalk, heading in Samuel and Willis’ direction as they fight their way past more soldiers on their way to the far side.
In another part of the plant; Alex and Caitlin exit one of the air ducts into an abandoned part of the facility; even though it seemed like there was no one around, they still tread lightly, weapons in hand; making sure they didn’t step on anything that may give off an alarming sound.
“Okay, we’re definitely going in the right direction. Our target’s just up ahead.”
Caitlin and Alex keep going until they hit a pipe that was leaking steam. They go around it to their right, checking every corner as well as the top of the structures for enemies.
Meanwhile, Bogoul decides to check up on the prisoners. Before she got to them, Starla was planning an escape attempt; there was actually no way for her to get out of the cell as the door was a one-way kinetic barrier; in order for anyone to get out, they’d need a key. So Diamanos thought of a plan; she didn’t have to escape, but deceive Bogoul into thinking she had. She turns herself into light and blends in with the ceiling just as Bogoul arrives at her cage. Confused about where she went, Bogoul foolishly opens the cell door and peeks inside.
Starla assembles behind her and taps her on the shoulder. As she turns around, Starla kicks her inside and locks the door behind her before she opens the other cells and frees her friends.
On the last cell door, Darvako and some of his soldiers storm in to take care of the problem.
After a short fight, things started to get out of hand; Samuel, Willis, and Zierian burst through the door.
Willis fights through the crowd and over to Starla with the headband to block the signal with; at the same time, Alex and Caitlin reach their objective.
“It seems as though Darvako’s got some kind of machine creating a barrier around the light; nothing can get through.” Alex says as he rubs his hand across it.
“Okay, Samuel, we’ve made it to the Mother Light, but it’s gonna take a few minutes.”
“Whatever; just hurry,” Samuel says as he fights off a horde of minions.
During the fight, Darvako ducks in and out of the crowd on his way to Bogoul’s cell and unlocks it; Phoebe tries to stop him, but she’s too late; Bogoul pushes Darvako out of the way and leaps at Phoebe with a double leg drop kick. Phoebe slides back by the soles of her boots while Bogoul followed her; once she stopped, Bogoul threw a spinning kick, which Phoebe ducked under. Bogoul then throws a right punch, but Phoebe blocks and delivers a low blow to the stomach with her left and then serves a punch to the jaw; on the third punch, Bogoul grabs her by the wrist, pulls her close and butts heads with her; both of them stumble back and Darvako steps in, landing a concussive blast to knock Phoebe on her back.
Max steps in, locks his arm around Darvako’s, dips him backwards, and trips him, sending him falling on his behind; and then with his pill bug armor wrapped around his left arm, he delivers a strong punch, which Bogoul blocks before kicking him in the shin.
Phoebe approaches while Bogoul is distracted and lands a frontal kick; Bogoul flies backward at the right moment and lands a couple feet away; then he spirals with his right arm out and makes like he’s throwing a Frisbee as he fires a knife shaped energy beam at her; Max spirals in front of Phoebe with his pill bug armor on his right and deflects the attack right back him, destroying him instantly.
At the same time, Caitlin and Alex break through the barrier and use the mind control device on the source of her, Diamanos, and their people’s powers; the result was all of Darvako’s men turning from evil to good.
“What the….?” He was at a loss for words as his own army turned against him.
Samuel and his team confront the now powerless Darvako along with Diamanos.
“This can’t be; I was so close.”
“You’ve lost, Darvako.”
“You have no one left to help you.”
“Diamanos. You wouldn’t let them destroy your best general, would you?”
“Of course I wouldn’t; if I tolerated traitors. But since you tried to destroy me, I’ll pretty much let them do whatever they want to you.”
“WASP stinger mark II?”
“Remember what I said about not blowing this place up?” Samuel calls upon the WASP stinger mark I; Max holds onto it while the others stand around it. They charge it up to 100% and fire a shot; Darvako goes down in flames.
Before they could aim for Diamanos, she disarms them of their weapon; goes for Max with a right palm punch to the jaw and attacks Starla with a kick to the stomach. At that time, Samuel draws his sword and takes a slice out of her clothing before she leaps back.
Zierian hits her with a back flip kick to the face before Phoebe comes in from the left with a punch to the jaw; Diamanos quickly spirals and throws a back kick; Phoebe catches her foot, but Diamanos quickly spirals again and kicks her in the head with her other foot.
The rest of the team attacks at once and she defends by conjuring an enormous amount of light energy and channels it into a concussive blast, which knocks them all on their backs.
Willis speeds around the blast towards Diamanos and takes a swing at her with his Elephant axe; she ducks, sidesteps, and leans back out of the way of each swing and attacks back after summoning her sword.
Max comes in from behind her, his pill bug armor at the ready, and helps his brother double team her, but Diamanos alternates between them both before turning into light and teleporting behind Willis and shoving him into Max.
Phoebe tosses her Mantis Boomerang, which gets blocked by Diamanos and sent back towards her; Phoebe slides under it up to her and throws a right, which gets blocked; Diamanos then makes her kneel with a kick to the left shin.
With his pill bug armor attached to his right shin, Max performs a spiraling, which Diamanos dodges with a back flip.
Starla flies in, with her armadillo blades and slashes her several times; as Diamanos fell, Starla rolls onto her feet behind her.
Diamanos quickly springs to her feet and goes on the offensive; but the second she tried to attack Starla, a long chain-like thing comes out of nowhere and wraps around her wrist. It was later revealed that it was Alex with his Scorpion Saber after he turned her around, pulled her in close and allows Caitlin to deliver a laser blast from her eyes directly at her midsection.
Yenax leaps in with a rear horse kick; Diamanos grabs him by the foot, and then she swings him into Samuel, who slides in under him and leaps at her with a left punch, which Diamanos swats in Caitlin’s direction; Caitlin blocks with both arms, but still gets pushed back.
Max and Willis take a shot at her with their blasters, but Diamanos blocks with a wall of black light; Alex turns his weapon to its secondary mode and swings at the wall; shattering it like a glass window. Diamanos attacks him with a couple punches to the stomach and as he bends over, she decks him in the jaw and makes him spiral. At that time, Caitlin leaps over him and lands a kick to Diamanos’ chest and bounces into Zierian’s arms as he restrains her in a choke hold. Diamanos breaks free of Zierian’s hold with an elbow to the kidney, a spiral, and a palm punch to the stomach.
Starla restrains Diamanos with a ring of light around the waist; then moves at the speed of sound as she delivers lightning fast strikes while zipping back and forth past her. After doing this several times, she then performs her finishing move; she grips her with her right hand, draws her left one back, quickly brings it forward and shoots straight through her heart like a bullet made of light and comes out the other side in her light form before reverting to her human form down on one knee while her evil twin falls in a cloud of smoke and flames; her life force flowing back into Starla afterwards.
After defeating Starla’s twin, everyone, except Yenax, returned to the mansion.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” Willis asked Starla while they swam around in the pool.
“After two years, I’ve missed this planet; all its sights, the people; and out of all of you, I missed you the most.”
“But… what about your people; aren’t you their leader?”
“Let them get a new leader; they’ll do just fine without me.”
“So… I guess this is goodbye then,” Max asked Phoebe.
“It doesn’t have to be.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, you could always come live with me on the ranch.”
“Farm life really isn’t for me; how about I just visit you instead?”
“Oh alright…” Phoebe sighed.
“So what’s next for you two?”
Meanwhile, in the kitchen
“I dunno, Bradshaw, maybe I should take a few months off from being an artifact recovery specialist and hang around here for a while,” Alex answered. “What do you think, Caitlin?”
“After what we’ve been through, we all could use a break.”
“It’s just too bad Yenax couldn’t stay with us.”
“I fear it would do damage to the timeline if were not back home taking care of his son.”
“You know, I still can’t believe he’s Meerlix’s father.”
To keep him from altering the timeline, our heroes erased Yenax’s memory and sent him on his way; and with the ship they built for him, he heads back to planet Savpharus; a planet, which was mostly jungle and inhabited with half human half animals such as zebra, giraffe, gorilla, cheetahs, etc; most of which wore a specific colored robe similar to that of him and his son, Meerlix’s.
“Hey, Yenax, how you doing?” one of the villagers, a gorilla, asked.
“Just fine, Mitex.”
“Haven’t seen you in a while, what you been up to?”
“I… I honestly haven’t a clue, my friend…”
“What, did you lose your memory or something?”
“I can’t really remember a thing before getting off that ship here. I also have all these bruises and stuff that can’t explain; must’ve been in some sorta battle and lost my memory there. Anyway, I’m gonna check on my wife and son. Bye, Mitex.”
“Okay, see ya, Yenax.”
On his way back to his house, everyone he knew started waving to him and acknowledging his existence. He just waves back to them and keeps going until he reaches his house.
“Hi, honey.”
“Hello to you too, Maula?” he said, giving his wife a big kiss. His wife was a cheetah; yellow fur with black spot like the cheetahs of earth with long ears, ferociously sharp retractable claws and was wearing a bluish-gray robe like Meerlix’s future self. “How was your day, dear?”
“Meerlix has been a complete angel.”
Yenax smiled as he hovered over Meerlix’s crib; Meerlix smiled back with his baby talk as his father picked him up.
“I’m not really sure where I’ve been, but it feels good to finally come back to my loving wife and darling baby boy.”
