Dolphin Hill
It's night time and the streets are cold and black leaves rustle on the ground all is quiet on Dolphin hill there is only one house on this hill at the very top
Jake Rhodes drives up the long hill and parks where he can in front of the large house
there is a bunch of cars already there he was running late after one of his college classes
Jake is twenty and about 5'6" he's short for a guy and is often mistaken as a 16 year old teenager he has a small frame and wears a mens small t-shirt yet all his family members still buy him large t-shirts they end up looking like he's swimming in them
as he gets out of his old rusty Jeep Cherokee he stops and takes a look at the large house before him Jake had never actually seen a mansion up close in movies and tv shows yes but he had no idea this place was even here
it was large and looming it appeared black the dark bricks looked like they had never been washed most if not all the shutters were broken off or hanging on to dear life by one henge there were dark tall trees all around the mansion and all there leaves had already fallen off the yard was full of them
a black gate lined the yard and there were candle lights lining the walkway
Jake takes all this "Wow they really went all out for Halloween!" Jake was hardly scared of anything except talking to others
it amused him that such a scary looking place was on a street called Dolphin Hill it just made it less scarier to him
Jake is a loner he has no friends but he tries really hard to make some but no one seems to understand him they don't even give him a chance so when Jake received a invitation to a Halloween party he had to go someone wanted him at this party maybe they wanted to be his friend
Jake was dressed up as vampire or really a cheap looking one he didn't have a costume so he went to the store and bought the cheapest cool one he could find he could have been a hippie for less money but vampires are so much cooler
he gelled back his short light brown hair his cape danced around as the wind blew around him he was ready to party
as he walked up the sidewalk you should barely see the sidewalk cause of all the leaves maybe thats why they lit the path... Jake thinks to himself
when he reaches the two large front doors he knocks but no one answers the wind blows harder and colder Jake knocks again this time he puts a lot of force into his knocks the door then opens slowly Jake walks in to see a huge entry way
there was two large stairs going up to the same landing above him
there was an old worn down carpet under his feet mirrors lots of him at least five large and small all on the walls around him
there was old paintings and photos hanging on the wall...the room was mostly lit by candle light so it was dim and dark
there was cobwebs everywhere and jack-o-lanterns sitting on the floor or on old wooden chairs
"Whoa this place looks great" Jake said with loads of enthusiasm yes Jake was excited cause this looks like the best Halloween party ever
he walks in and notices no one is there he guessed he open the door by himself
just then a loud BANGING sound fills the room Jake whips himself around to see the front door had closed shut
Jake settles himself he thought it was a gun shot for a second not that Jake as ever actually heard one being fired
"Hello is anyone here?" Jake knows there here somewhere with so many cars outside someone has to be here
Jake feels a strong pinching pain on his shoulder and jumps forward and turns around to see an old man not just old but really old
he has skeleton looking hands and longish white hair that had thinned he had a pointy nose and a twisted looking smile
"invitation!" the old man demands
Jake shakes himself back into reality and starts to dig in his pockets Jake pulls out a worn out looking invite
Jake carried it around with him at all times to make sure he didn't lose it he did this for three weeks Jake hands the invite over to the old man and the old man grabs it from Jake and starts To examining it
Great this is just great I've been invited to a party full of old people
poor Jake he finally thought hes going to make friends his age
Jake isn't one to just leave a party so he decides to stay
the old man( or as Jake likes to call him Old Man Skeleton Hands) gestures at Jake " follow " he says and of course Jake does as he's told
Jake is taken up stairs down a long dark hallway if it wasn't for Old Man Skeleton Hands torch he was carrying it would be pitch black
the old man opens a large door and when it opens a rush of light and music and the murmur of people came upon Jake when he walks in he sees a group of people his AGE Jake quickly becomes excited no longer depressed he gave a big uncontrolled grin that clearly creep out some of the other quests
Jake quickly looked around at everyone's outfits there was the always excepted Cat and nurse outfits and then he locks eyes with this one girl she looked familiar maybe she goes to his school but she wasn't wearing a costume was she? Jake wonders as he sees her short mini shirt tube top high heels and choke necklace
"Hooker" Jake says "excuse me?" Jake didn't realize he had said it out loud and he was staring right at her when he said it
Jake hardly ever gets to use his voice cause he doesn't have anyone to talk to so he often will speak out loud to himself maybe to just remind him he still has a voice and thats what it sounded like
The girl stands and stares coldly at him
"I uhh..I'm ss-" Jake nerves were at a whole new high for him as the trampy looking girl starts to make her way to him Jake fears shes going to scratch his eyes out with those long bedazzled nails of hers Jake is done he's ready to go home and starts to back up the tramp stops dead and just stares at him
just then two hands rest on his shoulders a chill runs through Jakes body no one touches him yet he's already been touched my an old man and now by someone else
"oh Good the last quest has arrived we can start with all our games now"
a older looking woman walks around Jake she has a long black flowy gown on she has light graying blonde hair and pale blue eyes ...she was attractive for someone that looked in her late 40s early 50s
GAAH what are you thinking? she could be old enough to be your mother! Jake shakes his head then looks at the woman to see her staring right at him she gives him a quick wink before turning away from him
Jake's face turned into a bright red it was like she could read his mind
the woman then looks around at everyone and begins to speak
"Ladies Gentlemen Welcome to my Halloween party my name is Reine
I've been hosting these events for many years now and all of you were selected to attend this party on the most joyous of nights...Halloween"
Jake looks around to see most of the other quest seemed bored and ready to leave
"I'm sure all of you have had some snacks and punch?" Jake hadn't but wasn't going to say anything he was late after all
she continues "if all of you are ready then It is time to start the scavenger hunt!"
Old Man Selection Hands walks over to Reine and hands her a witches hat
"okay I want all of you to come and grab a ball out of this hat"
Reine says in the most sweetest of voices she holds the hat out as people gather around to take a ball "please no rushing there is enough for everyone " Reine says
Jake is the last one to take a ball
his ball is blue Jake steps back to stand where it was before near the door for a quick escape from socializing
"alright! good now everyone with red balls stand on over there" Reine points over around the red velvet couch "and everyone with blue balls stand over there" there was a light laughter at her saying blue balls but Jake didn't seem to notice or care cause she had pointed directly at him and all of the blue balled guest were looking right at him and moving towards him
Reine giggles at the two forming teams "now get to know you team members the game will start in fifteenth minutes ! " Reine then sits down in a plush looking arm chair near the fireplace
there was a total of twelve guest in this room six on one team and six on the other
Jake looked at the five strangers and was relieved to know that hooker girl isn't on his team
Jakes team members went about introducing themselves Jake was trying really hard not to emotionally shut down at this point but it was useless he had toned his team out and wasn't hearing them at all
there was a tall jock evenly tan looking man dressed as a mummy and another equally tall dark skinned man dressed as the mad hatter he didn't seem happy at all but he did look really mad guess he doesn't know what kind of 'Mad' the hatter really was
there was another man that was actually about the same height as Jake was
he was Asian and was dressed as a biker or a punk it was sort of silly looking on such a small scrawny looking guy but his costume was pretty sweet looking he even cut his hair and dyed it green and spiked in it a mohawk or maybe it was always like that
there were two girls on Jake's team en older thirty-ish looking woman in a fairy outfit she seemed a little out there her hair was two colors a bad dyed blonde and her natural brown hair coming in from the roots
the other girl looked no younger than sixteen she has dark skin her dark hair was in pigtails and was dressed like a Gothic looking outfit
the girl sure seemed happy she kept smiling
the small group all look over at Jake
Jake for a moment doesn't know why they are all looking at him
"and you?" the large jock mummy man speaks in an annoyed voice at Jake
"Oh!" they want Jake to introduce himself he was really zoned out
"my name is Jake...and I'm I'm" Jake looks at the five strangers as they all lock eyes on him and Jake can tell they didn't like him "uh I'm twenty and a college student!" Jake puts his head down and just waits one of his team members were about to comment on what he said he thinks it was the goth girl but she got cut off as Reine stands up and claps her hands together really loud
"alright everyone its time to begin" Reine then hands a piece of paper to each team Hatter took it for the blue team and hooker took it for red team
"on that piece of paper are the items that you must find in this house bring all the items back before the other team does and your team will win! but if you bring back the wrong items you will lose so make sure you have the right ones
your items are different so don't worry about cheating
all the rooms with yellow ribbons on the door are not to be entered in
both teams have one hour to find all the items and bring them back here
if neither team finds all the items in one hour both teams lose! does everyone understand the rules?"
Reine looks around at the two groups of people the cat girl from red team speaks up "what do we win? if you don't mind me asking"
Reine lets out a happy chuckle "the winning team will be rewarded" but I don't want to give away what the prize is yet that will ruin all the fun! but don't worry it's worth dying for " Reine chuckles once again but the word Dying sort of stuck out and gave a chill to all guest except Jake he just figured she used that wording cause it's a Halloween party...
Reine walks over to the fireplace mantel and places her hand on an hourglass
"is everyone ready?" everyone seemed ready "okay then on three! one two...three" Reine flips the hourglass over and the game had begun
the two teams shuffle out of the large party room and down the dark hall they were all giving flash lights to use so there was many beaming lights dancing up and down the walls it was making Jake a little sick looking at all of them
the two teams finally split up the blue team decides to go in the study room to look for their items Jake has no idea what they are looking for cause team captain Hatter wasn't letting Jake see the paper
Jake figured out what he was looking for by the orders being giving to look for this and this Jake was pretty useless to the team cause as they went from room to room Jake hadn't found one item and they were easy too but the list seemed so large
Jake ended up becoming the pack mule carrying the bulk of the items himself
"we need to head back now we're almost out of time" the fairy girl says to them
"but we need one more item" bikerpunk says to the group they all look as fast as they can not caring if they made a mess or not Jake can barely see anything around the load of stuff (or what Jake considers useless crap) he was holding "I found it!" mummy yells loud so all of them could hear he found the rubber mouse thank God Jake thinks "thats everything" Hatter says to the group he sounded almost proud of himself like he did everything but mostly all he did was give orders
Jake then climbed the stairs hardly being able to see around him his team barks at him to go faster but none of them offer to lighten his load
the blue team makes it back to the party room to find they were beaten by Red they were all there sitting down and waiting all of them with winning grins on their face
Jake plots the items down on the table next to the red teams items he sets them all out neatly
Reine walks over looking over two sheets of paper examining the items
then she steps back and looks at everyone "the winner is" she pauses for dramatic effect which seemed pointless since they knew who won
"the Blue team!" an angry roar of the red team calling foul and the cheering of the blue team filled the room Jake just stood there not sure how
hooker walks up to Reine "I demand you tell me how we lost!? we had everything on that list!" Reine shakes her head " you almost had everything but it says on your list a full bottle of red wine yet that bottle is almost empty" the red teams faces turn as red as their balls "blue team wins cause red team did not bring back what was asked of them too" Reine puts her hands together and smiles brightly at the blue team
"you all did wonderfully now please follow Alexander he'll take you to your prize " Jake looks over to see Old Man Selection Hands standing there his name is Alexander? really? Jake decided to continue to call him by his nickname cause Alexander just did not fit
the blue team goes out through a different door on the other side of the room
as they are leaving you can hear the red team whining about losing
the blue team was lead down long dark hallways and down stairs after awhile they can no longer hear the other quest talking
the blue team is ecstatic and excited about their prize
Old Man Selection Hands opens a door reveling a huge dining room with a long large old oak table there was so much good looking food on the table and pie
Jake saw pie and knew what he was going to go for first
the group settle themselves in around the table bikerpunk was all ready to dig in but fairy stops him "no wait.. till we are told to eat don't be rude" Fairy says to him in a motherly like way that seemed to tick him off a bit but he sits back in his chair and waits like a good boy
a little time later Reine walks in the room and sits herself down at the head of the table "you may begin eating now if you wish"
and wish they did as all of them dig into the food Jake went right for the pumpkin pie not caring much for anything else
"so what are the rest doing?" Goth speaks in between bites "oh they are enjoying their own reward for losing don't worry about them you're the winners!
and the best part of all of this...is that this not your only reward" Reine said it with lots of life and excitement everyone at the table seemed happy and looking forward to more prizes
Jake on the other hand was tired after working in the morning at his crappy seasonal job and then going to school in the after noon and now this party
Jake was ready for a nap
Jake then looks at the stew that they were served it didn't look at all good to him yet everyone else was eating it and getting seconds
"Is something wrong Jake?" Reine quickly noticed Jake had only had a slice of pie "um no I'm fine Ma'am " Jake scrounged down into his seat
after everyone was full stuffed with more food then their bodies could hold Reine stands up wipes her hands on a napkin and clasps her hands together "alright now it's time to reward you with your second prize follow me everyone"
She leads them down to what Jake believes to be the basement
they enter a dark room the walls all looked like stone and so did the floor it was cold and it was lit by three touches on the wall
there were no other exits in this room
Reine stood back near the entry and let them all file in
Mummy turns around and looks directly at Reine "where's our prize?"
Reine just smiled and gestured to Alexander Jake hadn't even noticed he was in there
the old man pulls on a rope just then the walls next to him move to side everyone let out gasps it was cool to see a wall move
all six of them move forward to see a glass window and five stands all with red buttons on it
someone lets out a scream Jake turns to see Fairy with a hand covering her mouth and with her other shaky hand she points at the window
the rest of them all step forward looking through the glass to see a huge machine on the right
and then they see right to left there were six tubes of them are hooked on to a conveyor belt inside those tubes were the six other guest all unconscious
Mummy and Hatter both turn and confront Reine but they were met by a cold evil eyes and fangs the old man had turned into some sort of spider creature with huge dark beady eyes and he had skeleton like arms sticking out of his back
both young men back up to where the rest were
everyone was terrified and shaking expect Jake Jake was scared but he wasn't about to lose his cool or maybe he was just mentally shut down again and went numb Jake wasn't even sure of his own emotions anymore
Fairy continued to scream her lunges out as she was grabbing onto Goth for dear life Goth was just as scared and no longer smiling
Mummy tried to be the hero and ran at Reine but she easily without hardly moving back handed him Mummy flew across the room hitting the wall with a hard thud mummy curled over onto his right side gasping in pain
Reine begins to laugh it fills the room with even more dread
"punching me was that your brilliant plan of defeating me?" Reine says with a chuckle in her voice Bikerpunk and Hatter both help Mummy to his feet and the group all huddle close together of course without Jake
"you're a Vampire...A real Vampire" Jake said without sounding the least bit scared yes Jake knew for sure now he was emotionally broken something had diffidently snapped
Reine raised an eyebrow at Jake this didn't make Jake feel any better "you are a quite the clever one Jake" Reine says folding her arms together "yes I am what you would call a Vampire but I am different from the ones you would see in movies and story books" Jake swallowed but his throat had gone dry so it hurt when he tried
Reine looks directly at Jake "I have lived for hundreds of years but if I only drank the blood of humans it'll only sustain my life for a short time I need more I need human flesh bones and organs as well but the process of consuming a human body takes a lot of energy and the older I got the harder this was for me to do so I built that machine other there" Reine points over at the large machine the conveyer was attached too " Think of it as a giant blender it takes less energy and I can consume more bodies but my favorite part is the blending I like my food to be living when they go in nothing better than the horrific screams to make one hungry" every ones faces went pale no one was moving no one was making a sound
Goth found her voice " w-why?...why keep us a-alive?" Reine smiles once again " because it's all part of the game they lost so that's why they are in the tubes and not you " everyone looked a confused "so... if we won don't we get to leave?" Hatter says "I told you six that you had another prize this is your prize" Reine says with a cold voice all of them look at each other still confused "you see those five buttons? once they are all pushed the machine will start and wont stop till all six tubes have been emptied your prize is that you get to turn it on" Reine watches what she said slowly sink in "will we be able to leave then? " Fairy says between her sobbing "yes certainty you will be able to leave this room alive I promise but there are only five buttons you see so that means one of you have to stay here...with me" everyone was motionless "what if we decide not to push them then what? " Hatter says
Reine laughs the sound felt like it went to the bones " if you don't push them then you all die "
the room started to spin around Jake his emotions were finally working he looks at the group he had been hanging around for a few hours then he looks over at the tubes and sees the six people he hardly knew yes he didn't care much for hooker but he defiantly didn't want this to happen to her it hits Jake that he was standing the furthest away from the buttons and when he looks back over at them he sees the other five all standing next to them with their fingers on the button
A loud buzzer rang and this woke the six losing guest up three of them start to pound on the glass harder and harder one just balled up and didn't move either she knew what was going to happen and was just waiting or she had completely blocked it all out
two of them cry out at six standing before them yes they could see them behind the glass and the five stood there staring at the six that they put to death without hardly giving much thought into
the conveyor starts to move the first tube to go in was the chubby cat girl she screamed
Jake stood there powerless he felt defeated then he looked at the other five all looking away or with their heads down
"Look at them!" Jake yells at them "at least see what you've done!"
"we didn't do this sh-" Goth was interrupted by the sound of the blender ripping apart the young girl her screams were blood wrenched till you no longer heard them
"she made us" Goth said in a low voice the conveyor moved again the five that remained cried out at them they pleaded for help but no one did anything
Jake was mad he turned to Reine "stop this stop it make it stop" he storms towards her Reine doesn't flinch at his advance Jake stands before her "please you can't let them die like this" Jake is crying as he hears another tube enter the machine and the screams of horror as the blender rips their body apart
Reine just smiles and grabs hold of Jake and throws him against the wall near the same spot Mummy hit earlier but no one came to Jake's aid...the conveyor continues to move more screams Jake manages to get to his feet
he had to make it stop he runs over to the glass window and starts to bang his fist into it he hits it over and over as another tube enters he throws his shoulder into it then looks at five standing next to him "why why are you just standing there?"
Jake says to them they just stare at him
Jake turns to see the last tube pull up to the conveyor it was hooker Jake felt awful that he did not even know her real name she places her hands on the glass of the tubes she shakes her head crying wording out the word please he watches her as she enters the blender Jake closes his eyes embracing himself for the final scream the loud bloody scream made Jake fall to his knees moments later the machine stops everything falls silent
Jake stays on his knees facing forward he felt defeated
Reine starts to clap which made Jake jump "wonderful wonderful" Reine repeats herself "now you five may leave" she slightly bows her head and gestures her hands towards the door the five slowly shuffles out Jake turns his head and looks at them leaving Bikerpunk turns around and mouths the words I'm Sorry to Jake this did not make Jake feel any better
"Alexander dear come here" Jake sees Alexander creep up next to her "it's dinner time sweetie go on...EAT!" Jake falls backwards on his butt covering his face with his arms but then he heard a click Jake opened his eyes to see that Alexander had left the room the next thing Jake heard was screams the screams of the five that had just left this room Jake begins to shake he was going to die too
Reine walks over to Jake and bends down and begins to pet Jakes head Jake doesn't stop her he has no fight left in him " now my sweet how about we go somewhere more comfortable " Jake turns his shaky head and looks directly at her "you're going to kill me...just do it do it now ...no reason to wait"Jake couldn't believe what he was hearing come out of his mouth but then again there is no point in fighting it
Reine continues to paw at his head " oh silly boy I'm not going to kill you " a look of shock runs across his face "you're lying again you told them they could leave alive you lied!"
Reine laughs Jake has grown sick of her laugh "I told them they could leave this room alive and I kept my promise they left this room alive" Jake was feeling more and more sick he wasn't sure how he will ever get out of this
"why are you keeping me alive then? " Jake asks as calmly as he could
"because I want a new companion a new pet Alexander has grown dull and boring you will make a wonderful new companion we can be best friends forever Jake " Reine runs her finger down the side of Jake's face "now stand up and come with me" Jake does what he's told
Jake follows her but wanted nothing more than to grab hold of Reine's head and slam it into the wall but he knew she wouldn't let that happen but this did not stop him from wanting too though
Reine leads him into a large room with lots of furniture there was a fireplace with no fire a large piano in the far left corner of the room the ceiling was high and there was a chandelier above them it was held up by ropes and sparkled as he moved through the room there was books everywhere piles of them on the floor even
there were big heavy looking curtains and a large grandfather clock
to Jakes disappointment the windows were barred off by thick black looking bars
Reine gestures Jake to sit Jake plops himself down on the plush couch furthest away from her Reine just smiles at this
"Now you wait here dear I'll be back I'll try not to be to long...don't try to leave this room Alex is guarding it" Reine gives a wink then turns and leaves the room leaving Jake alone
Jake starts to panic his head starts to rush with all kinds of horror but he's already witness enough horror to last his life but to be turned into her pet? no Jake did not want this
figures that when someone finally wanted to be his 'friend' it ended up being a psychopathic murderer Vampire woman
Jake takes a deep breathe "Okay Jake think...there has to be a way to get out of here" Jake looks around the room for anything that can help him
time passes and by time Reine enters the room three hours had passed
Reine was noticeably different Her hair was golden and flowy her lips were red and lush her body was younger she appeared to be in her twenties and she changed into a white sleeveless dress that fit tight to her curves giving her that sexy hourglass shape her eyes were brighter but still cold as ice but more alluring
Jake had to admit she was gorgeous Jake then felt sick how can he be thinking about that stuff right now shes a vampire! he then looks back at her he locks eyes with her icy blue ones and instantly feels a rush of calm come over him
"do you like what you see Jake?" Reine says in her now more younger sounding voice "yee-NO!" Jake digs his fingers into his leg shes.. shes making me feel like this shes trying to control me! don't look into her eyes Jake says to himself
Reine gracefully walks and sits at the end of the large couch she looks so innocent and angelic like
"you put a fire on I see" Jake looks over at the flames " yes I was cold waiting in here" Reine pats the cushion of the couch next to her "come here Jake sit next to me you wont be cold then" Jake once again made the mistake to look into her eyes he had to use all the will power he had to resist the urge to go over to her
"you're a strong one much stronger than Alexander ever was" Reine smiles at Jake and pats harder on the cushion " come"
Jake stands up and slowly walks over to her and starts to lean down to sit next to her " now see that wasn't so ha-" in mid breath Jake had stabbed Reine in the stomach she quickly backs away and Jake rushes back to the other side of the room
Reine stands there and pulls out the wooden stake from her stomach the blood runs down her white dress
"my dress you b*****d how could you!" Reine throws the stick at him it barely misses Jake
Jakes eyes widen it didn't work the wooden stake he made out of the foot of one of the chairs did not kill her
"I told you I wasn't like the Vampires in movies or books you're a fool you've made me mad Jake I'm going to have to kill you now" her eyes went black and her teeth become sharp and jagged Reine no longer looks like an angel but a bloody demon she roars with a ear piecing cry
Reine lunges at Jake she swings her sharp claws at him
Jake barely manages to dodge he wasn't so lucky at her next swing he gets hit on his right side and is flown across the room into the large grandfather clock it shatters and cuts him Jake quickly gathers himself and rolls out of the way of her next attack Reine slams into the clock also cutting herself she roars with anger
Jake scrambles to his feet and runs to the other side of the room
Reine stands up and pulls a long piece of glass out of her neck near her collarbone when she turned around Jake was no where to be seen
"Jake...where are you?" Reine said in her angelic voice "where are you!" she grabbed the couch and threw it across the room the couch hit the piano the piano made a final sad song as it collapses to the ground from the force of the blow
she slowly walks over to the pile of destruction she had made "Jake...?"
Jake rushes out from behind one of curtains Reine had her back turned from him
when he was right behind her Reine hears him and starts to whip around at that very second Jake wraps something around her neck then Jake quickly backs from her
Reine grabs at him but the wire around her neck tightens she grabs at it then looks up and sees the chandelier swaying back and forth she then looks at Jake she sees him pull the single rope holding the chandelier up the knot comes loose and it it comes crashing down
the force of the chandelier and with the piano wire tied to it and around her neck it caused Reine's head to come clean off of her shoulders
her body takes a few last steps before falling dead on the floor
Jake rushes over grabs her head and throws it into the fire a huge flare of fire blows out of the fireplace throwing Jake back he lands hard on the floor then everything starts to go fuzzy then dark till he was completely out
Jake wakes to the feeling of being carried he felt safe but everything starts to come back to him Who's carrying me?! Jake throws his body away from the one carrying him then looks up to see a young man he's never seen before he was taller than Jake and had short black hair then Jake notices his wounds were bandaged up "who are you?" Jake asks the strange boy
"my name is Alex and I found you asleep on the floor" he thinks he wasn't really asleep but then it hits him Jakes eyes become wide
"Alex? you--You mean Alexander? Old Man Skeleton Hans Alexander?!" Alex just stared blankly at Jake but then a warm smile went across his face "yes I'm that Alexander" he says with humor in his voice
Jake slowly steps back away from him cause what is before him is a monster "it's alright you can be afraid of me I don't blame you" Alex looks down at his feet " I am a monster after all"
Alex knew what Jake was thinking and Jake felt guilty for thinking that for some reason "but how -how are you I mean how are you not old and spider like " Jake says to him
Alex takes a deep breath before speaking
"Over a hundred years ago Reine tricked me she cursed me she used a spider and attached it to my back and slowly turned me into well...what you saw
she did not want me to be a vampire like her because I could become stronger than her one day... so no she wanted to control me ...but slowly I started to age no matter what she did to keep me alive the spider only kept draining the life from me " Alex stops for a second to gather himself " I gave up on life years ago I let the spider control my every thought my every motion I no longer wanted to live she made me help her kill people for so many years so many deaths I helped in"
"but you didn't have a choice!" Jake yells out "those five kids before did not have one either and yet you scolded them" Jake felt even worse now he had yelled at them for just trying to live another day
" I know I shouldn't have I just wanted it to stop..." Jakes voice became weak and quiet Alex stepped forward and put a hand on Jakes shoulder "it's not your fault Jake don't blame yourself...I want to thank you Jake because of you the curse has been lifted and the spider no longer controls me I appear to have gone back to the way I was all those years ago...Thank you Jake"
Jake looks up at Alex "but-I" smoke starts to creep from the walls "whats going on whats with all of the smoke? Jake quickly asks Alex
"I set the mansion on fire it's the only way to be rid of her and all of this horror once and for all" Alex then pushes Jake backwards " go Jake leave this place "
Jake pushes back " wait! what about you Alex?"
Alex just smiles and shakes his head " no Jake I must stay here I am a monster I have killed to many" "no!" Jake reaches out and grabs onto Alex's arms "no Alex don't kill yourself...you've been giving another chance at life don't waste it "
Alex tried to pry Jake off of him as the smoke gets thicker in the air
"let go Jake this is where I belong I deserve this none of the victims got a second chance they all died I helped now let me go!" Alex was able to get Jakes hand free but Jake just threw that arm back and punched Alex right in the face Alex then stumbles back coughing from the smoke Jake grabs hold of Alex by the arm and pulls him out the front door the morning light hits them both hard blinding them but Alex keeps fighting him but Jake just throws him down the steps
Alex starts to scream as Jake forces him away from the house "why Jake why?! let me go I can't keep living" "you're the only one Alex!...the only one that remembers them...remembers everyone that has been killed...you have to keep living you have to honor them! " Jake flings Alex forward Alex hits one of the parked cars outside then Alex slowly falls down and starts to cry "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry"
Jake then holds out his hand for Alex to take "come on lets go" Jake says in a soft comforting tone Alex looks up at him and then sees his hand "but I'm a monster"
Jake just smiles "and I'm a social reject we'll get along great" Alex takes his hand and Jake pulls him to his feet
" come on lets get out of here before police show up I don't want to have to try and explain this" Jake says to him Alex and Jake both exchange a quick smile and run off for his old jeep
Jake drives down dolphin hill and looks back at the only house on the hill up in flames
then looks over at the awkward monster sitting next to him and thinks to himself
I finally made a friend

It's night time and the streets are cold and black leaves rustle on the ground all is quiet on Dolphin hill there is only one house on this hill at the very top
Jake Rhodes drives up the long hill and parks where he can in front of the large house
there is a bunch of cars already there he was running late after one of his college classes
Jake is twenty and about 5'6" he's short for a guy and is often mistaken as a 16 year old teenager he has a small frame and wears a mens small t-shirt yet all his family members still buy him large t-shirts they end up looking like he's swimming in them
as he gets out of his old rusty Jeep Cherokee he stops and takes a look at the large house before him Jake had never actually seen a mansion up close in movies and tv shows yes but he had no idea this place was even here
it was large and looming it appeared black the dark bricks looked like they had never been washed most if not all the shutters were broken off or hanging on to dear life by one henge there were dark tall trees all around the mansion and all there leaves had already fallen off the yard was full of them
a black gate lined the yard and there were candle lights lining the walkway
Jake takes all this "Wow they really went all out for Halloween!" Jake was hardly scared of anything except talking to others
it amused him that such a scary looking place was on a street called Dolphin Hill it just made it less scarier to him
Jake is a loner he has no friends but he tries really hard to make some but no one seems to understand him they don't even give him a chance so when Jake received a invitation to a Halloween party he had to go someone wanted him at this party maybe they wanted to be his friend
Jake was dressed up as vampire or really a cheap looking one he didn't have a costume so he went to the store and bought the cheapest cool one he could find he could have been a hippie for less money but vampires are so much cooler
he gelled back his short light brown hair his cape danced around as the wind blew around him he was ready to party
as he walked up the sidewalk you should barely see the sidewalk cause of all the leaves maybe thats why they lit the path... Jake thinks to himself
when he reaches the two large front doors he knocks but no one answers the wind blows harder and colder Jake knocks again this time he puts a lot of force into his knocks the door then opens slowly Jake walks in to see a huge entry way
there was two large stairs going up to the same landing above him
there was an old worn down carpet under his feet mirrors lots of him at least five large and small all on the walls around him
there was old paintings and photos hanging on the wall...the room was mostly lit by candle light so it was dim and dark
there was cobwebs everywhere and jack-o-lanterns sitting on the floor or on old wooden chairs
"Whoa this place looks great" Jake said with loads of enthusiasm yes Jake was excited cause this looks like the best Halloween party ever
he walks in and notices no one is there he guessed he open the door by himself
just then a loud BANGING sound fills the room Jake whips himself around to see the front door had closed shut
Jake settles himself he thought it was a gun shot for a second not that Jake as ever actually heard one being fired
"Hello is anyone here?" Jake knows there here somewhere with so many cars outside someone has to be here
Jake feels a strong pinching pain on his shoulder and jumps forward and turns around to see an old man not just old but really old
he has skeleton looking hands and longish white hair that had thinned he had a pointy nose and a twisted looking smile
"invitation!" the old man demands
Jake shakes himself back into reality and starts to dig in his pockets Jake pulls out a worn out looking invite
Jake carried it around with him at all times to make sure he didn't lose it he did this for three weeks Jake hands the invite over to the old man and the old man grabs it from Jake and starts To examining it
Great this is just great I've been invited to a party full of old people
poor Jake he finally thought hes going to make friends his age
Jake isn't one to just leave a party so he decides to stay
the old man( or as Jake likes to call him Old Man Skeleton Hands) gestures at Jake " follow " he says and of course Jake does as he's told
Jake is taken up stairs down a long dark hallway if it wasn't for Old Man Skeleton Hands torch he was carrying it would be pitch black
the old man opens a large door and when it opens a rush of light and music and the murmur of people came upon Jake when he walks in he sees a group of people his AGE Jake quickly becomes excited no longer depressed he gave a big uncontrolled grin that clearly creep out some of the other quests
Jake quickly looked around at everyone's outfits there was the always excepted Cat and nurse outfits and then he locks eyes with this one girl she looked familiar maybe she goes to his school but she wasn't wearing a costume was she? Jake wonders as he sees her short mini shirt tube top high heels and choke necklace
"Hooker" Jake says "excuse me?" Jake didn't realize he had said it out loud and he was staring right at her when he said it
Jake hardly ever gets to use his voice cause he doesn't have anyone to talk to so he often will speak out loud to himself maybe to just remind him he still has a voice and thats what it sounded like
The girl stands and stares coldly at him
"I uhh..I'm ss-" Jake nerves were at a whole new high for him as the trampy looking girl starts to make her way to him Jake fears shes going to scratch his eyes out with those long bedazzled nails of hers Jake is done he's ready to go home and starts to back up the tramp stops dead and just stares at him
just then two hands rest on his shoulders a chill runs through Jakes body no one touches him yet he's already been touched my an old man and now by someone else
"oh Good the last quest has arrived we can start with all our games now"
a older looking woman walks around Jake she has a long black flowy gown on she has light graying blonde hair and pale blue eyes ...she was attractive for someone that looked in her late 40s early 50s
GAAH what are you thinking? she could be old enough to be your mother! Jake shakes his head then looks at the woman to see her staring right at him she gives him a quick wink before turning away from him
Jake's face turned into a bright red it was like she could read his mind
the woman then looks around at everyone and begins to speak
"Ladies Gentlemen Welcome to my Halloween party my name is Reine
I've been hosting these events for many years now and all of you were selected to attend this party on the most joyous of nights...Halloween"
Jake looks around to see most of the other quest seemed bored and ready to leave
"I'm sure all of you have had some snacks and punch?" Jake hadn't but wasn't going to say anything he was late after all
she continues "if all of you are ready then It is time to start the scavenger hunt!"
Old Man Selection Hands walks over to Reine and hands her a witches hat
"okay I want all of you to come and grab a ball out of this hat"
Reine says in the most sweetest of voices she holds the hat out as people gather around to take a ball "please no rushing there is enough for everyone " Reine says
Jake is the last one to take a ball
his ball is blue Jake steps back to stand where it was before near the door for a quick escape from socializing
"alright! good now everyone with red balls stand on over there" Reine points over around the red velvet couch "and everyone with blue balls stand over there" there was a light laughter at her saying blue balls but Jake didn't seem to notice or care cause she had pointed directly at him and all of the blue balled guest were looking right at him and moving towards him
Reine giggles at the two forming teams "now get to know you team members the game will start in fifteenth minutes ! " Reine then sits down in a plush looking arm chair near the fireplace
there was a total of twelve guest in this room six on one team and six on the other
Jake looked at the five strangers and was relieved to know that hooker girl isn't on his team
Jakes team members went about introducing themselves Jake was trying really hard not to emotionally shut down at this point but it was useless he had toned his team out and wasn't hearing them at all
there was a tall jock evenly tan looking man dressed as a mummy and another equally tall dark skinned man dressed as the mad hatter he didn't seem happy at all but he did look really mad guess he doesn't know what kind of 'Mad' the hatter really was
there was another man that was actually about the same height as Jake was
he was Asian and was dressed as a biker or a punk it was sort of silly looking on such a small scrawny looking guy but his costume was pretty sweet looking he even cut his hair and dyed it green and spiked in it a mohawk or maybe it was always like that
there were two girls on Jake's team en older thirty-ish looking woman in a fairy outfit she seemed a little out there her hair was two colors a bad dyed blonde and her natural brown hair coming in from the roots
the other girl looked no younger than sixteen she has dark skin her dark hair was in pigtails and was dressed like a Gothic looking outfit
the girl sure seemed happy she kept smiling
the small group all look over at Jake
Jake for a moment doesn't know why they are all looking at him
"and you?" the large jock mummy man speaks in an annoyed voice at Jake
"Oh!" they want Jake to introduce himself he was really zoned out
"my name is Jake...and I'm I'm" Jake looks at the five strangers as they all lock eyes on him and Jake can tell they didn't like him "uh I'm twenty and a college student!" Jake puts his head down and just waits one of his team members were about to comment on what he said he thinks it was the goth girl but she got cut off as Reine stands up and claps her hands together really loud
"alright everyone its time to begin" Reine then hands a piece of paper to each team Hatter took it for the blue team and hooker took it for red team
"on that piece of paper are the items that you must find in this house bring all the items back before the other team does and your team will win! but if you bring back the wrong items you will lose so make sure you have the right ones
your items are different so don't worry about cheating
all the rooms with yellow ribbons on the door are not to be entered in
both teams have one hour to find all the items and bring them back here
if neither team finds all the items in one hour both teams lose! does everyone understand the rules?"
Reine looks around at the two groups of people the cat girl from red team speaks up "what do we win? if you don't mind me asking"
Reine lets out a happy chuckle "the winning team will be rewarded" but I don't want to give away what the prize is yet that will ruin all the fun! but don't worry it's worth dying for " Reine chuckles once again but the word Dying sort of stuck out and gave a chill to all guest except Jake he just figured she used that wording cause it's a Halloween party...
Reine walks over to the fireplace mantel and places her hand on an hourglass
"is everyone ready?" everyone seemed ready "okay then on three! one two...three" Reine flips the hourglass over and the game had begun
the two teams shuffle out of the large party room and down the dark hall they were all giving flash lights to use so there was many beaming lights dancing up and down the walls it was making Jake a little sick looking at all of them
the two teams finally split up the blue team decides to go in the study room to look for their items Jake has no idea what they are looking for cause team captain Hatter wasn't letting Jake see the paper
Jake figured out what he was looking for by the orders being giving to look for this and this Jake was pretty useless to the team cause as they went from room to room Jake hadn't found one item and they were easy too but the list seemed so large
Jake ended up becoming the pack mule carrying the bulk of the items himself
"we need to head back now we're almost out of time" the fairy girl says to them
"but we need one more item" bikerpunk says to the group they all look as fast as they can not caring if they made a mess or not Jake can barely see anything around the load of stuff (or what Jake considers useless crap) he was holding "I found it!" mummy yells loud so all of them could hear he found the rubber mouse thank God Jake thinks "thats everything" Hatter says to the group he sounded almost proud of himself like he did everything but mostly all he did was give orders
Jake then climbed the stairs hardly being able to see around him his team barks at him to go faster but none of them offer to lighten his load
the blue team makes it back to the party room to find they were beaten by Red they were all there sitting down and waiting all of them with winning grins on their face
Jake plots the items down on the table next to the red teams items he sets them all out neatly
Reine walks over looking over two sheets of paper examining the items
then she steps back and looks at everyone "the winner is" she pauses for dramatic effect which seemed pointless since they knew who won
"the Blue team!" an angry roar of the red team calling foul and the cheering of the blue team filled the room Jake just stood there not sure how
hooker walks up to Reine "I demand you tell me how we lost!? we had everything on that list!" Reine shakes her head " you almost had everything but it says on your list a full bottle of red wine yet that bottle is almost empty" the red teams faces turn as red as their balls "blue team wins cause red team did not bring back what was asked of them too" Reine puts her hands together and smiles brightly at the blue team
"you all did wonderfully now please follow Alexander he'll take you to your prize " Jake looks over to see Old Man Selection Hands standing there his name is Alexander? really? Jake decided to continue to call him by his nickname cause Alexander just did not fit
the blue team goes out through a different door on the other side of the room
as they are leaving you can hear the red team whining about losing
the blue team was lead down long dark hallways and down stairs after awhile they can no longer hear the other quest talking
the blue team is ecstatic and excited about their prize
Old Man Selection Hands opens a door reveling a huge dining room with a long large old oak table there was so much good looking food on the table and pie
Jake saw pie and knew what he was going to go for first
the group settle themselves in around the table bikerpunk was all ready to dig in but fairy stops him "no wait.. till we are told to eat don't be rude" Fairy says to him in a motherly like way that seemed to tick him off a bit but he sits back in his chair and waits like a good boy
a little time later Reine walks in the room and sits herself down at the head of the table "you may begin eating now if you wish"
and wish they did as all of them dig into the food Jake went right for the pumpkin pie not caring much for anything else
"so what are the rest doing?" Goth speaks in between bites "oh they are enjoying their own reward for losing don't worry about them you're the winners!
and the best part of all of this...is that this not your only reward" Reine said it with lots of life and excitement everyone at the table seemed happy and looking forward to more prizes
Jake on the other hand was tired after working in the morning at his crappy seasonal job and then going to school in the after noon and now this party
Jake was ready for a nap
Jake then looks at the stew that they were served it didn't look at all good to him yet everyone else was eating it and getting seconds
"Is something wrong Jake?" Reine quickly noticed Jake had only had a slice of pie "um no I'm fine Ma'am " Jake scrounged down into his seat
after everyone was full stuffed with more food then their bodies could hold Reine stands up wipes her hands on a napkin and clasps her hands together "alright now it's time to reward you with your second prize follow me everyone"
She leads them down to what Jake believes to be the basement
they enter a dark room the walls all looked like stone and so did the floor it was cold and it was lit by three touches on the wall
there were no other exits in this room
Reine stood back near the entry and let them all file in
Mummy turns around and looks directly at Reine "where's our prize?"
Reine just smiled and gestured to Alexander Jake hadn't even noticed he was in there
the old man pulls on a rope just then the walls next to him move to side everyone let out gasps it was cool to see a wall move
all six of them move forward to see a glass window and five stands all with red buttons on it
someone lets out a scream Jake turns to see Fairy with a hand covering her mouth and with her other shaky hand she points at the window
the rest of them all step forward looking through the glass to see a huge machine on the right
and then they see right to left there were six tubes of them are hooked on to a conveyor belt inside those tubes were the six other guest all unconscious
Mummy and Hatter both turn and confront Reine but they were met by a cold evil eyes and fangs the old man had turned into some sort of spider creature with huge dark beady eyes and he had skeleton like arms sticking out of his back
both young men back up to where the rest were
everyone was terrified and shaking expect Jake Jake was scared but he wasn't about to lose his cool or maybe he was just mentally shut down again and went numb Jake wasn't even sure of his own emotions anymore
Fairy continued to scream her lunges out as she was grabbing onto Goth for dear life Goth was just as scared and no longer smiling
Mummy tried to be the hero and ran at Reine but she easily without hardly moving back handed him Mummy flew across the room hitting the wall with a hard thud mummy curled over onto his right side gasping in pain
Reine begins to laugh it fills the room with even more dread
"punching me was that your brilliant plan of defeating me?" Reine says with a chuckle in her voice Bikerpunk and Hatter both help Mummy to his feet and the group all huddle close together of course without Jake
"you're a Vampire...A real Vampire" Jake said without sounding the least bit scared yes Jake knew for sure now he was emotionally broken something had diffidently snapped
Reine raised an eyebrow at Jake this didn't make Jake feel any better "you are a quite the clever one Jake" Reine says folding her arms together "yes I am what you would call a Vampire but I am different from the ones you would see in movies and story books" Jake swallowed but his throat had gone dry so it hurt when he tried
Reine looks directly at Jake "I have lived for hundreds of years but if I only drank the blood of humans it'll only sustain my life for a short time I need more I need human flesh bones and organs as well but the process of consuming a human body takes a lot of energy and the older I got the harder this was for me to do so I built that machine other there" Reine points over at the large machine the conveyer was attached too " Think of it as a giant blender it takes less energy and I can consume more bodies but my favorite part is the blending I like my food to be living when they go in nothing better than the horrific screams to make one hungry" every ones faces went pale no one was moving no one was making a sound
Goth found her voice " w-why?...why keep us a-alive?" Reine smiles once again " because it's all part of the game they lost so that's why they are in the tubes and not you " everyone looked a confused "so... if we won don't we get to leave?" Hatter says "I told you six that you had another prize this is your prize" Reine says with a cold voice all of them look at each other still confused "you see those five buttons? once they are all pushed the machine will start and wont stop till all six tubes have been emptied your prize is that you get to turn it on" Reine watches what she said slowly sink in "will we be able to leave then? " Fairy says between her sobbing "yes certainty you will be able to leave this room alive I promise but there are only five buttons you see so that means one of you have to stay here...with me" everyone was motionless "what if we decide not to push them then what? " Hatter says
Reine laughs the sound felt like it went to the bones " if you don't push them then you all die "
the room started to spin around Jake his emotions were finally working he looks at the group he had been hanging around for a few hours then he looks over at the tubes and sees the six people he hardly knew yes he didn't care much for hooker but he defiantly didn't want this to happen to her it hits Jake that he was standing the furthest away from the buttons and when he looks back over at them he sees the other five all standing next to them with their fingers on the button
A loud buzzer rang and this woke the six losing guest up three of them start to pound on the glass harder and harder one just balled up and didn't move either she knew what was going to happen and was just waiting or she had completely blocked it all out
two of them cry out at six standing before them yes they could see them behind the glass and the five stood there staring at the six that they put to death without hardly giving much thought into
the conveyor starts to move the first tube to go in was the chubby cat girl she screamed
Jake stood there powerless he felt defeated then he looked at the other five all looking away or with their heads down
"Look at them!" Jake yells at them "at least see what you've done!"
"we didn't do this sh-" Goth was interrupted by the sound of the blender ripping apart the young girl her screams were blood wrenched till you no longer heard them
"she made us" Goth said in a low voice the conveyor moved again the five that remained cried out at them they pleaded for help but no one did anything
Jake was mad he turned to Reine "stop this stop it make it stop" he storms towards her Reine doesn't flinch at his advance Jake stands before her "please you can't let them die like this" Jake is crying as he hears another tube enter the machine and the screams of horror as the blender rips their body apart
Reine just smiles and grabs hold of Jake and throws him against the wall near the same spot Mummy hit earlier but no one came to Jake's aid...the conveyor continues to move more screams Jake manages to get to his feet
he had to make it stop he runs over to the glass window and starts to bang his fist into it he hits it over and over as another tube enters he throws his shoulder into it then looks at five standing next to him "why why are you just standing there?"
Jake says to them they just stare at him
Jake turns to see the last tube pull up to the conveyor it was hooker Jake felt awful that he did not even know her real name she places her hands on the glass of the tubes she shakes her head crying wording out the word please he watches her as she enters the blender Jake closes his eyes embracing himself for the final scream the loud bloody scream made Jake fall to his knees moments later the machine stops everything falls silent
Jake stays on his knees facing forward he felt defeated
Reine starts to clap which made Jake jump "wonderful wonderful" Reine repeats herself "now you five may leave" she slightly bows her head and gestures her hands towards the door the five slowly shuffles out Jake turns his head and looks at them leaving Bikerpunk turns around and mouths the words I'm Sorry to Jake this did not make Jake feel any better
"Alexander dear come here" Jake sees Alexander creep up next to her "it's dinner time sweetie go on...EAT!" Jake falls backwards on his butt covering his face with his arms but then he heard a click Jake opened his eyes to see that Alexander had left the room the next thing Jake heard was screams the screams of the five that had just left this room Jake begins to shake he was going to die too
Reine walks over to Jake and bends down and begins to pet Jakes head Jake doesn't stop her he has no fight left in him " now my sweet how about we go somewhere more comfortable " Jake turns his shaky head and looks directly at her "you're going to kill me...just do it do it now ...no reason to wait"Jake couldn't believe what he was hearing come out of his mouth but then again there is no point in fighting it
Reine continues to paw at his head " oh silly boy I'm not going to kill you " a look of shock runs across his face "you're lying again you told them they could leave alive you lied!"
Reine laughs Jake has grown sick of her laugh "I told them they could leave this room alive and I kept my promise they left this room alive" Jake was feeling more and more sick he wasn't sure how he will ever get out of this
"why are you keeping me alive then? " Jake asks as calmly as he could
"because I want a new companion a new pet Alexander has grown dull and boring you will make a wonderful new companion we can be best friends forever Jake " Reine runs her finger down the side of Jake's face "now stand up and come with me" Jake does what he's told
Jake follows her but wanted nothing more than to grab hold of Reine's head and slam it into the wall but he knew she wouldn't let that happen but this did not stop him from wanting too though
Reine leads him into a large room with lots of furniture there was a fireplace with no fire a large piano in the far left corner of the room the ceiling was high and there was a chandelier above them it was held up by ropes and sparkled as he moved through the room there was books everywhere piles of them on the floor even
there were big heavy looking curtains and a large grandfather clock
to Jakes disappointment the windows were barred off by thick black looking bars
Reine gestures Jake to sit Jake plops himself down on the plush couch furthest away from her Reine just smiles at this
"Now you wait here dear I'll be back I'll try not to be to long...don't try to leave this room Alex is guarding it" Reine gives a wink then turns and leaves the room leaving Jake alone
Jake starts to panic his head starts to rush with all kinds of horror but he's already witness enough horror to last his life but to be turned into her pet? no Jake did not want this
figures that when someone finally wanted to be his 'friend' it ended up being a psychopathic murderer Vampire woman
Jake takes a deep breathe "Okay Jake think...there has to be a way to get out of here" Jake looks around the room for anything that can help him
time passes and by time Reine enters the room three hours had passed
Reine was noticeably different Her hair was golden and flowy her lips were red and lush her body was younger she appeared to be in her twenties and she changed into a white sleeveless dress that fit tight to her curves giving her that sexy hourglass shape her eyes were brighter but still cold as ice but more alluring
Jake had to admit she was gorgeous Jake then felt sick how can he be thinking about that stuff right now shes a vampire! he then looks back at her he locks eyes with her icy blue ones and instantly feels a rush of calm come over him
"do you like what you see Jake?" Reine says in her now more younger sounding voice "yee-NO!" Jake digs his fingers into his leg shes.. shes making me feel like this shes trying to control me! don't look into her eyes Jake says to himself
Reine gracefully walks and sits at the end of the large couch she looks so innocent and angelic like
"you put a fire on I see" Jake looks over at the flames " yes I was cold waiting in here" Reine pats the cushion of the couch next to her "come here Jake sit next to me you wont be cold then" Jake once again made the mistake to look into her eyes he had to use all the will power he had to resist the urge to go over to her
"you're a strong one much stronger than Alexander ever was" Reine smiles at Jake and pats harder on the cushion " come"
Jake stands up and slowly walks over to her and starts to lean down to sit next to her " now see that wasn't so ha-" in mid breath Jake had stabbed Reine in the stomach she quickly backs away and Jake rushes back to the other side of the room
Reine stands there and pulls out the wooden stake from her stomach the blood runs down her white dress
"my dress you b*****d how could you!" Reine throws the stick at him it barely misses Jake
Jakes eyes widen it didn't work the wooden stake he made out of the foot of one of the chairs did not kill her
"I told you I wasn't like the Vampires in movies or books you're a fool you've made me mad Jake I'm going to have to kill you now" her eyes went black and her teeth become sharp and jagged Reine no longer looks like an angel but a bloody demon she roars with a ear piecing cry
Reine lunges at Jake she swings her sharp claws at him
Jake barely manages to dodge he wasn't so lucky at her next swing he gets hit on his right side and is flown across the room into the large grandfather clock it shatters and cuts him Jake quickly gathers himself and rolls out of the way of her next attack Reine slams into the clock also cutting herself she roars with anger
Jake scrambles to his feet and runs to the other side of the room
Reine stands up and pulls a long piece of glass out of her neck near her collarbone when she turned around Jake was no where to be seen
"Jake...where are you?" Reine said in her angelic voice "where are you!" she grabbed the couch and threw it across the room the couch hit the piano the piano made a final sad song as it collapses to the ground from the force of the blow
she slowly walks over to the pile of destruction she had made "Jake...?"
Jake rushes out from behind one of curtains Reine had her back turned from him
when he was right behind her Reine hears him and starts to whip around at that very second Jake wraps something around her neck then Jake quickly backs from her
Reine grabs at him but the wire around her neck tightens she grabs at it then looks up and sees the chandelier swaying back and forth she then looks at Jake she sees him pull the single rope holding the chandelier up the knot comes loose and it it comes crashing down
the force of the chandelier and with the piano wire tied to it and around her neck it caused Reine's head to come clean off of her shoulders
her body takes a few last steps before falling dead on the floor
Jake rushes over grabs her head and throws it into the fire a huge flare of fire blows out of the fireplace throwing Jake back he lands hard on the floor then everything starts to go fuzzy then dark till he was completely out
Jake wakes to the feeling of being carried he felt safe but everything starts to come back to him Who's carrying me?! Jake throws his body away from the one carrying him then looks up to see a young man he's never seen before he was taller than Jake and had short black hair then Jake notices his wounds were bandaged up "who are you?" Jake asks the strange boy
"my name is Alex and I found you asleep on the floor" he thinks he wasn't really asleep but then it hits him Jakes eyes become wide
"Alex? you--You mean Alexander? Old Man Skeleton Hans Alexander?!" Alex just stared blankly at Jake but then a warm smile went across his face "yes I'm that Alexander" he says with humor in his voice
Jake slowly steps back away from him cause what is before him is a monster "it's alright you can be afraid of me I don't blame you" Alex looks down at his feet " I am a monster after all"
Alex knew what Jake was thinking and Jake felt guilty for thinking that for some reason "but how -how are you I mean how are you not old and spider like " Jake says to him
Alex takes a deep breath before speaking
"Over a hundred years ago Reine tricked me she cursed me she used a spider and attached it to my back and slowly turned me into well...what you saw
she did not want me to be a vampire like her because I could become stronger than her one day... so no she wanted to control me ...but slowly I started to age no matter what she did to keep me alive the spider only kept draining the life from me " Alex stops for a second to gather himself " I gave up on life years ago I let the spider control my every thought my every motion I no longer wanted to live she made me help her kill people for so many years so many deaths I helped in"
"but you didn't have a choice!" Jake yells out "those five kids before did not have one either and yet you scolded them" Jake felt even worse now he had yelled at them for just trying to live another day
" I know I shouldn't have I just wanted it to stop..." Jakes voice became weak and quiet Alex stepped forward and put a hand on Jakes shoulder "it's not your fault Jake don't blame yourself...I want to thank you Jake because of you the curse has been lifted and the spider no longer controls me I appear to have gone back to the way I was all those years ago...Thank you Jake"
Jake looks up at Alex "but-I" smoke starts to creep from the walls "whats going on whats with all of the smoke? Jake quickly asks Alex
"I set the mansion on fire it's the only way to be rid of her and all of this horror once and for all" Alex then pushes Jake backwards " go Jake leave this place "
Jake pushes back " wait! what about you Alex?"
Alex just smiles and shakes his head " no Jake I must stay here I am a monster I have killed to many" "no!" Jake reaches out and grabs onto Alex's arms "no Alex don't kill yourself...you've been giving another chance at life don't waste it "
Alex tried to pry Jake off of him as the smoke gets thicker in the air
"let go Jake this is where I belong I deserve this none of the victims got a second chance they all died I helped now let me go!" Alex was able to get Jakes hand free but Jake just threw that arm back and punched Alex right in the face Alex then stumbles back coughing from the smoke Jake grabs hold of Alex by the arm and pulls him out the front door the morning light hits them both hard blinding them but Alex keeps fighting him but Jake just throws him down the steps
Alex starts to scream as Jake forces him away from the house "why Jake why?! let me go I can't keep living" "you're the only one Alex!...the only one that remembers them...remembers everyone that has been killed...you have to keep living you have to honor them! " Jake flings Alex forward Alex hits one of the parked cars outside then Alex slowly falls down and starts to cry "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry"
Jake then holds out his hand for Alex to take "come on lets go" Jake says in a soft comforting tone Alex looks up at him and then sees his hand "but I'm a monster"
Jake just smiles "and I'm a social reject we'll get along great" Alex takes his hand and Jake pulls him to his feet
" come on lets get out of here before police show up I don't want to have to try and explain this" Jake says to him Alex and Jake both exchange a quick smile and run off for his old jeep
Jake drives down dolphin hill and looks back at the only house on the hill up in flames
then looks over at the awkward monster sitting next to him and thinks to himself
I finally made a friend
