Biography: Lemiah was originally born in Egypt, but his family fell on hard times when his father lost his job and couldn't find another. After six months his father was offered a job in London to help fix the subway cars there so Lemiah was taken away from the town he grew up in for the past twelve years to start a new life. He was told everything would turn out better in London, but Lemiah's father was wrong. Shortly after Lemiah's fifteenth birthday his mother fell ill from a disease that was linked to the poor living conditions and unclean water found in the area they came from. According to the doctors the disease had been active for quite some time, probably since they left, but now it had spread to several of the vial organs the lungs, the heart, and soon the brain. The disease took his mother's life nearly three months later after a long harsh fight and both Lemiah and his father fell into despair. Lemiah's father became obsessed with his work and sometimes would stay at the subway station for days on end. Lemiah never understood loneliness like he did now and then suddenly one day he met someone on his way home from school that opened his eyes to the real world around him.
It was a man dressed in black robes with a sword in his hand telling him not to be afraid. At first Lemiah thought the man was crazy and the he too had gone off the deep end. Who would wear such strange clothes in modern times and be stupid enough to carry a weapon around in broad daylight? The man then took a fighting stance in front of Lemiah and said "Here it comes. Boy, hide yourself. I'll finish it off." and then in a flash of light the man's sword struck what looked like a monster made of glass that could somehow move but did not break. An explosion of flames followed and when the dust cleared the monsters and robed man were gone. Lemiah was starting to think it was a bad dream as he began walking home again. He wouldn't be rid of the robed man so soon though. Lemiah turned around the corner towards his house at the end of the street to find the robed man leaning against a shadowed building holding his side with one hand while barely able to grip his sword in the other. The explosion killed the monster it seemed, but the man looked to be in bad shape.
"Let me help you somehow." Lemiah was surprised at his own words as he reached out to the man who drew his sword up as if to block an enemy’s attack. "Stay back. You will draw more of them here. It came after you. Why didn't you run away?" Lemiah had no idea what the man was talking about and suddenly felt afraid of what he didn't know. Two more of the glass like monsters appeared behind Lemiah and the robed man quickly got to his feet to engage them. "What is going on...Who is this guy and what are those things? How could I not see them before?" Lemiah thought to himself as he backed away hoping to escape through an alleyway. Lemiah heard the robed man scream out as one of the glass monsters threw him to the ground. He was now covered in blood as his sword skid across the ground in the opposite direction. "He's dead...no he can't be." Lemiah thought as he turned and shouted towards the man "Get up! They are coming!" the man did not move at all as the monsters drew closer. Lemiah ran towards the sword, hoping that he could save the man with it somehow. As Lemiah held the sword in his hands a voice echoed in his mind "Aim for their head. Destroy the mask and the beast will perish." and so he jumped up and slashed downward at one of the glass monsters causing it to disappear. He destroyed the other monster in a similar manner before rushing over the robed man who could barely speak now.
"Kurosuki has taken a liking to you. I'm sorry to get you involved, but those monsters will come back. I won't be here much longer...You have to stop them. Innocent people will die if you don't." The man struggled to get to his knees as he spoke then he pulled off a armband with an inscription on it. "This will guide you to the soul society. Ask to be trained and do not take no for an answer. Tell them Kousei sent you as his replacement. Take my sword Kurosuki and that squad emblem to Seireitei. You will become a soul reaper there and gain the power you need to kill those beasts. Please the world is depending on..." and then the man seemed to turn into small orbs of light that floated up to the sky and disappeared. "Well whatever you are take me to the Soul Society." Lemiah said looking at the squad emblem and then it began to glow transporting him into the heart of Squad Twelve's training grounds. After an interrogation from the squad members Lemiah was allowed to stay as a shinigami in training. It didn't take long for him to learn the basic shinigami kido spells and zanpatuto techniques, so he was given his first assignment to protect the human world. When he fought the hollows this time around they looked like flesh monsters instead of transparent glass one from before. Somehow his training in the Soul Society opened his eyes to see beings of the spiritual world as well.
"Kurosuki lets show ‘em how it’s done. Everyone watch this!" Lemiah shouted to his squad mates as he came upon their target hollows. "Kurosuki, down comes the black snow!" and with that the sky became filled with dark clouds that rained down small flakes of black reitsu. When the black snow touched an ally it gave them strength and increased their physical attack power slightly, but it also covered the ground around Lemiah slowing down his foes. It was like running through wet mud on a rainy day. Kurosuki's blade became covered with a black aura as Lemiah struck down both the hollows with two strikes each. After that mission Lemiah was promoted to Lieutenant of the twelfth division. His new job involved more research then combat, but he was fine with that. Maybe the shinigami feared his zanpakuto's dark reitsu and that’s why they decided to put him with the intelligence division. No big deal either way. Lemiah spent much of his free time reviewing battle outcomes from the other squads to find ways of improving the squads. Sadly many of his devices and gadgets failed before they were even tested in live battle. Still Lemiah didn't give up. He was determined to help the shinigami win this war.
Some time passed before Kurosuki told Lemiah about another power he could possess. Kurokatsu, the black flames, would burn as hot as any normal fire attack and since they were made from reitsu, water couldn't put them out. It was a very dangerous ability though and not even Kousei mastered it completely. "If you lose control the flames can burn away at your very soul and hurt the ones you wish to protect. Are you sure you are ready for this Lemiah?" That was Kurosuki's only warning before the training began. Although it was powerful, Lemiah was warned to us it only in dire situations.
Personality: Quiet and observant since coming into the Soul Society. He remembers very little of his human life and feels it's probably for the best.

Unreleased form : In normal sealed zanpakuto state Kurosuki appears as a normal katana with a black braided rope around the handle and hilt. The sheath is completely black.
Zanpakuto Spirit Kurosuki's spirit form has black shoulder length hair and red eyes. Kurosuki's spirit world consists of a frozen wasteland that phases out into endless darkness in all directions after about forty feet.
Zanpakuto Spirit Personality: He stands straight up as if to look down on whoever he is talking to in order to seem intimidating. His words may sound harsh, but behind them are concern for the well being of his master. He craves battle like water and enjoys fighting. Sometimes he encourages his master to push beyond his limits to find strength.

Physical Changes : In shikai state a black aura of reitsu surrounds the blade, but no other changes occur.

- Bankai Command : Rise of the Black Flames: Kurokatsu!
Bankai Appearance : In bankai the black aura becomes flames that dance freely in the wind.
Physical Changes : The metal part of the blade above the hilt is replaced by the flames and as long as Lemiah holds the sword handle he can feed reitsu to the black flames to keep them going. If he drops the sword handle or is knocked out then Kurosuki returns back to sealed zanpakuto state.
Battlefield Changes : When released a thin pulse of dark reitsu is sent from Lemiah outward to a 5 foot radius. Any ally the pulse touches receives a small boost in physical strength for a short time. The pulse disappears after it radiates out.
Bankai Boosts: 25% physical attack boost for himself and 3 allies near him. Expires after 5 posts.
Bankai Techniques :
- Name: - Flame Edge
Description: - Turns the blade of Kurosuki into flames made of dark reitsu from Lemiah's body. If hit by the FlameEdge the effects would be similar to being burned by fire ranging from 730 degrees F for minor contact to 1300 degrees F for direct hit.

((Background: Lemiah is showing one of his squad mates Lupus the battle simulator he invented to help train shinigami as well as record their progress during combat for various reasons.))
Lemiah nodded and said "That is correct. If you don't have a sparring partner I can send in some simulated foes to fight. Since its your first day here lets save the tests for later. Don't want to tire you out too much. If you would like a demonstration I'll be glad to show you it's completely safe.The system is programed to automatically end training if any non-simulated participants health falls below half." Lemiah said and then he began pressing some buttons designating the type of terrain he would fight in, the climate, and the number of foes to face. Once all the selections were confirmed the doors to the training room slid open. "Watch this screen over here. It will give you the results and will also show my health verses theirs. Here we go Kurosuki. Lets go have some fun!" Lemiah said to his zanpakuto partner before he walked into the training room.
A few seconds passed before the doors closed and the terrain began to form around Lemiah. Tall green grass covered the ground for miles with a light blue partly cloudy sky overhead. A message was said out loud to Lemiah inside the training room and at the same time it appeared on one of the monitors outside where Lupus was. "Field is Grasslands. Climate fair. Number of foes two. Rules of the field: Soldier level kido and abilities. May not repeat the same ability or spell twice on any one foe. Time limit is twenty minutes. Begin on my count...3...2...1...Start!" Lemiah quickly drew his blade as two simulated hollows appeared and began their charge towards him. Lemiah held his ground allowing one of the simulated hollows to pass by him on the right as the other came at him full force with claws ready to strike. Lemiah brought his zanpakuto up in a diagonal slashing motion to lightly connect with the simulated hollows right shoulder. The simulated hollow swung its left arm around grabbing Lemiah by the side then it pushed him back about five feet. Only a minor scratch so Lemiah ignored it as the second simulated hollow appeared in front of him.
"Hado #4: Byakurai" Lemiah said holding two fingers up towards the simulated hollow's mask and then a quick flash of lighting hit the mask causing only a few cracks and the simulated hollow to stumble backwards. Another kido hit would finish it, but he still was locked in a two on one match. The uninjured hollow made a swift vertical slash with its claws down towards Lemiah. "Hado #1: Shō (Thrust)" Lemiah said shoving both his balled fists forward pushing the simulated hollow backwards into it's teammate. "Time to even the odds!" Lemiah said as he channeled reitsu down into his feet then he quickly dashed towards the simulated hollows. One quick horizontal slash of Lemiah's blade was all it took to break the rest of the injured simulated hollow's mask causing it to vanish. Lemiah showed no signs of hesitation as he switched to his new target and said "Hado #8: Kutsuunomaru (Circle of Pain)" and with those words said a small blue colored circle appeared below the remaining simulated hollow causing pulsing waves of pain to spread through its body until finally causing tiny cracks to appear on the mask. Lemiah then brought his sword up even with the hollows mask and thrust it forward cause the mask to shatter and the simulated hollow to vanish.
With both foes defeated the conditions for victory were met and the terrain around Lemiah began to dissolve back to the lab. "Training simulation has ended. Lemiah Zeil has been awarded 5 Kon Coins for claiming victory and following field regulations. Please return soon." and after that announcement the doors to the training arena opened and Lemiah walked out looking a little tired as he sheathed his Zanpakuto. "So how did I do?" Lemiah said to Lupus.
