He wasn't sure what he would find there, but his sources told him that some demon had been spotted in the depths and wanted it exterminated. As the intruder made his way through the cave, an alarm went off causing a small stir in the man's chakra. Although he did not wake up from his slumber, a pillar of water boiled up from the lake and parted to reveal an intricately designed trident. Without a sound, the trident rose high into the air before crashing back down to the edge of the stone causing a single, high pitch ring to course out through the cave, instantly a wave of water rose up to swirl about the man and encase him protectively.

While he made his way deeper into the cavern, Notwen heard the faint echo of what sounded like metal striking rock. This was followed by a resonating splash that bounced off of the uneven walls. Taking caution, the Uchiha began weaving the seals necessary to activate his Geyser Mirage clones. There was plenty of moisture here to give his clones a convincing solidity so Notwen used them to search out whatever he was looking for without him needing to use energy to do so himself. However before he continued to carry out his plan, he went ahead and started to scoop up some slime off of the stones and coat his clothes in it so he could blend in easier with the walls for more covert movement. Once every inch of fabric was camouflaged the dark-skinned blonde proceeded to coat it with a thin layer of his green flames so that the camo wouldn't wash away if he decided to dive. The clones saw these actions and altered their clothes to look the same, then proceeded to spread out in every direction, taking care to explore each and every nook and cranny as thoroughly and stealthily as possible.

It was one of Notwen's clones that first spotted Sai laying back in leisure with a protective wall of water about him. The dark-skinned blonde was at that moment two chambers away from where the clone was, but he immediately sent a mental message to all the clones to have them converge slowly and quietly into the cavern to survey the situation while he remained outside to gauge the situation. It was apparent that he was on the alert of possible intruders due to the active techniques, but Notwen wasn't sure if the man's behavior was a means to draw him out. His pupil began to glow white as he activated his heat-beam eyes to survey the room for any other heat signatures. The only ones the one-eyed Chuunin could see were Sai's and the clones', though theirs were fading rapidly due to their physical makeup.

An idea occurred to the Uchiha. He would have to throw caution to the winds, since the plan required the element of surprise. Notwen was sure that even with the surprise tactic, dealing with Sai would be dangerous since he has lost an arm to the man. First Notwen would begin to draw in sage chakra through the War Dance of Sparrows and proceed to channel it to his clones. Then he would weave two separate sets of seals, and use the clones as distractions while he let the techniques go simultaneously. The one-eyed Uchiha had the clones splash up and feint an attack at Sai, while from the mouth of the cavern he would send puppet strings from his puppet arm and a tether of emerald flame chain links from his right arm.

The slumbering man would continue to be motionless in his rest, unaware to the creeping onslaught that was coming his way. It was only as the clones converged upon him that his eyes opened suddenly, and while he had no reaction to the attack he stared off into the distance with red irises, intently staring down the real foe that was within his dwelling.

It would be a few moments after the attack landed on him that blue aura would soar into the sky with a powerful cry of pain, the aura condensing itself to create a phoenix of ice who circled high above the assaulted Sai.

Notwen was already prepared for whatever was going to happen, and a victorious smile began to appear on his face when he felt his strings connect to the slumbering man. However that smile was short-lived. The dark-skinned blonde had missed the point in time where Sai had weaved a short set of seals meant for a summoning. A blue glow erupted from him as a phoenix ascended through the cave and dove back downwards, scattering Notwen's clones left and right and creating room for its master. The cry it let out when it first appeared was pained, and seemed to reflect Sai's somewhat strained voice.
The one-eyed Uchiha peered back at Sai's crimson eyes with his own sapphire one. As the man questioned Notwen, the Chuunin thought about his answer. He had lost an arm to Sai, an eye and his Hiramekarei to Sorain. It was because of these two that his life had taken a turn that was impossible to return from.
"To be honest i had no idea i was going to find you, of all people here. The people from the surrounding land informed me of a demon they wanted dead living down here. I was just as surprised of finding you here as you are of seeing me." At that point Notwen began to weave the seals required for his next assault. A few moments later he was drawing heat into the area where his hands were in front of his abdomen. "Defeating you and your brother is a pinnacle i must cross in order for me to keep the promises i made to several people. And intend to do so here and now!" Upon uttering the last word the dark-skinned blonde shot his Radiant Nirvana straight at Sai and his summon. At the same time, he tried to re-establish his connection with the green flames that were close to Sai in order to uses his DĹŤka GenshĹŤ technique, which would begin to crystallize the Orasakai from the inside out. If the phoenix would attempt to save its master from this onslaught it would have another bird to deal with, for Kaala would then burst out of the Nirvana in an explosion of gold flames which would replace the blue glow for a few seconds before diminishing slightly.

An exasperated sigh escaped Sai's lips as he leaned onto his knee and propped his head up nonchalantly, his breath finely returning to him after his short rest from his last exertion. "Is that so." He said simply in response, his eyes lazily watching the uchiha as he let his thoughts roam to why someone would set such a task. It was the lack of a demon that had left him such a sorry state, maybe there was someone else out there with a vendetta against him. He would have to deal with that next. Refocusing back onto his current pest, Sai stared unflinchingly at the oncoming attack. "Really... I wish you had a better answer then that. So pointless."

Just as Sai and his phoenix were afflicted by Notwen's techniques, Kaala made his appearance in human form. He had wasted no time in preparing an attack, and his first target was none other than the weakened and bound Orasakai. Coating his palm in golden flames, the sparrow in human form slammed it into his opponents abdomen. A shockwave of golden chakra would then ripple through the bound man's body, damaging his chakra network, as well as rendering some of his skills useless.

Quickly Kaala recovered by skidding to a halt and jumping upwards to meet the blue phoenix. The sparrow lashed out with his arms, sending arcs of green flames at phoenix, which could have been easily dodged. However once they were behind the beautiful bird, the flames would harden into chains that were slightly denser than Notwen's. At that point Kaala would manipulate them so that they would come closer to him, bringing the now startled phoenix along with them. While this was going on the humanoid bird was preparing a sphere akin to the Rasengan, but imbued with the fire element. When the phoenix was brought within reach Kaala rammed the orange sphere into its breast, knocking it back the way it had come. At the same time the chains would hopefully complete to wrap themselves around it.
