Lazuli allowed herself to be pulled inside by Cassi and looked around the large room. Tables were all set up with plates of food and treats, and there was a stage at the far end of the room where a band was setting up. "Oh look Cassi! There's going to be music. I hope someone handsome asks me to dance, don't you?" No sooner had she noticed the band, than Cassi was pulling her over to say hello to Siri. She however, had seen them first and was on her way to meet them.
"Hi Siri! It's looking like this is going to be one awesome party!"
"I hope so Lazuli. I've invited so many mers that I don't know if the room can hold them all. I just hope the food holds out. Did you see the band? I can't wait to hear them play. Make sure you girls get in a couple of dances." She looked around the room and spotted Zelese. "See that mer over there? His name is Zelese, and though I didn't invite him, he decided to stay, and isn't he handsome? And that mer over there is Triton. I've already agreed to a dance with him later."

"Siri! Laz was just saying she hoped some handsome mer would ask her to dance." She looked at where Siri was indicating and saw both of the mermen she pointed out. "Oh! Zelese is positively gorgeous! I hope he asks me for a dance." She then noticed a couple of mers that seemed to already know each other, but who she had never met before. Pointing them out to Siri she asked, "Do you happen to know who that couple is over there? The blue maiden and her beautiful beau with the red hair." She had pointed out Tallulah and Dysmas.

Siri looked at the couple Cassi was pointing to and said, "Oh yes, that's Dysmas and his girlfriend Tallulah. Don't they make such a lovely couple? Well girls, have fun. I need to go mingle with some of the others who have come in."
She swam off, in search of mers she did not know personally.

Loturild paused to take a look around. Who would she approach first? There was pair of males that looked interesting, then another male joined them. Was that the boys only corner? She smiled and leaned over to Rykili. "Why don't you go get us some drinks?"
Until the drinks arrived, the female floated leasurely around. Listining to one group, smiling at another, not quite ready to make up her mind yet.
Rykili cast a longing glance toward Dysmas and Tallulah. Loturild leaning close, pulled her attention back. Luckily her mistress hadn't noticed the look. She bobbed her head as the brighter mer asked for drinks. "Yes mistress." She gave an energetic flick of her tail to send her over to the food tables.
Zelese was delighted as the hostess accepted his company inside. He beamed and gave her a bow. "Of course. Can't keep everyone waiting to see you Siri. Feel free to find me any time." He let her go then decided to get a small snack. A flick of his tail sent him over to the tables of food. An interesting piece caught his attention and he picked up a small piece. Lazily he swam over to some other males.
"How goes it? I'm Zelese." He eyed the impressive horn and frills on the first, and warily the teeth on the second.
Dysmas wrapped his arm around the blue mer's shoulders. "Aww did you really miss me that much? I wasn't gone too long I hope." As Tallulah mentioned the other mers in the party, he took a chance to glance around. It was a good group and he hoped everyone was there to enjoy it and not cause any problems.
"Mmmm anyone you want to start with first?" He asked to see who interested her the most. His tail flicked and made the shells chime softly together. With her question on his lateness, Dysmas got a mischievious grin. "Are you sure you want your surprise now?"
Tallulah pouted at him "I figured you would get here on time...but now that you mention it" she said surveying the crowd. She tapped her chin lightly,she tilted her head to the side. She was the quiet type so getting herself to mingle amongst the others was a challenge.She glanced up at her red head beau, if she left he would most likely be swarmed with the other mares here and that would end up in a argument at the end of the night,she was quiet but easy to get jealous. She lightly massaged her temples.
"Not in particularly...though remind me that we need to thank Siri before we leave" she said. glanced up at her beau "Well..I guess it depends..but likely chance it will be inappropriate for such a public setting" she said, as much as sh would have liked to know her surprise..they were at a party and it would be rude to leave early when they first got here.

Dysmas grinned. "Oh I tried! I tried! But I promise it was well worth the wait." The easy-going male chuckled, "take your time. I'm sure groups will start to form. We can wait here 'til someone comes to join us, or perhaps make our way over to the tables to see what's on offer." He rubbed her shoulder lightly as she massaged her temples.
"I was hoping we'd say hello before that and thank her for the party. That'd be a good easy place to start." The bright male had a huge grin light up his face. "Well now. I can tell you it's absolutely appropiate for a party," he gave a pregnant pause. "However, it might make all the other mares jealous." The dance in his eyes showed he was enjoying teasing the blue female.
Tallulah shook her head at him, what is she suppose to do with him. He was a mixture of charming,gentleman yet fun and humorous at the same time. Now she realized why she loved him so, it was because all of that combined made him the perfect beau for anyone. But she just so happens to be the lucky girl. She smiled to herself before giving him a kiss on the cheek "Do you plan on sharing with me anytime soon or are you making me wait?" she asked him.
"We can do that as well..we have yet to greet her" she put in thinking about it, perhaps now was a good time to go and mingle but of course she was a little hesitant about leaving him as she knew he was probably going to be swarmed with mares. "alright..shall we go track down Siri" she said tilting her head in a way made her look either cute or beautiful or both.

The sunset mer went slightly redder in the face at the kiss on his cheek. Dysmas winked and leaned close to whisper, "I suppose for that I'll have to give it to you." With that the male produce a nondiscript blackish shell, just waiting to be opened. He placed it in her hands. "Go ahead and open it 'Lulah."
He showed no inclination to swim off on his own. In fact, he was perfectly happy to remain beside Tallulah's side the whole party if that's what she wanted.
Zelese noticed the colorful pair in the middle of the space and pointed them out to his companions. "Oh look at this loverboy." A bit louder he called banteringly at the male, "Hey hey, I didn't know we was suppose to bring presents!"
Dysmas raised his head to find the male that had called out. His eyes searched and caught sight of a dark male mingling with some others. He gave a laugh and wave, " its he who gets the girl, my friend!"
Tallulah giggled lightly as he blushed,before looking at the blackish shell that was in her hands, she placed the shell in the palm of one hand and opened the shell with the other and gasps lightly at the black pearl, she smiled and glanced at him "thank you, Dysmas its wonderful" she said.
Before she shifted her gaze from her present to the male that spoke up glaring slightly at him and his light banter, he definitely looked like he wanted to cause trouble. But with effort she refrained herself from creating more trouble, the party was to be enjoyed not ruined. She then glanced at Dysmas and took his hand "lets go find Siri" she said " so we can greet her" she put in trying to hide the fact that she was none too pleased with the male that spoke up.

She noticed the couple heading in her direction and she waited for them to reach her. They were one of her favorite couples, and she was glad to see that they were both able to come tonight.
"Greetings Tallulah, Dysmas. You are both looking lovely this evening. Tallulah, have you done something different with your hair?"
Just then the musicians began playing and people started making their way to the dance area. "Well Dysmas, it looks like it's time to show everyone what a wonderful dance couple the two of you are. I have to go find my own dance partner."
She swam off in search of Zelese. She found him mingling with a couple of other males. "Excuse me gentlemers, but I believe I own Zelese a dance." Turning to him she said, "Would this be a good time?"
Tallulah was about to answer Siri's question about her hair, but not before the music started up she blinked as Siri suggested that her and Dysmas show their dancing skills. She put the pearl away in a safe place before she glanced at Dysmas "Care to show this crowd our dance skill?" she asked him with a smile. I guess they would have to chat with Siri a little later. She glanced around as the crowd began to pair off to dance. She had nothing against dancing to say the least it was one of her passions and still was, except for the fact that her and Dysmas' relationship was serious and they were an inseparable pair.
