I recently found out about these amps and they sound rather nice actually and looking to get one of them. Has anyone used them or had experience with the Blackstar company? I want to know if any modifications need to be made shortly after buying them.

I've played through a couple, basically if you're going to get one, don't get a combo, just go for a valve head. Unless it's off the id series, in which case the only reason you get one of those is for practicing quietly. They were created by someone who worked at Marshall, basically he made a more cost-effective ENGL. They sound EPIC cranked, best part is that you can take out the screaching high pitched overtone, which is usually the culperate for the reluctant, "after show brain melt-syndrome." I saw Firewind once and man, those amps are so killer that even in the worst bar you can hear the guitar over the drums and bass. Very sad thing for Bob the keyboard player though, he got drowned a little so they gave him a 5 minute keyboard solo lol.
